John, the layout was designed and build before I applied the satellite tracking system. I learned (by failure) that the satellite signal does NOT go through tall buildings, it deflects. It was a nightmare. Initially I used 3 satellites as was recommended by the vendor, but I had everywhere "dark" areas. It simply did not worked at all. It took me one year to improve it. The main reason is that my ceiling is just 1m20 above road surface, so tall buildings block a signal at low angle. If you would have a ceiling at 3-4 meter it would not be a problem, but my layout is in an attic with angled roof. I am now using already 9 satellites for same physical area. Basically I try to get across all main city streets at least 2 satellites with a 100% clear view and for crossings I try to get 3 satellites with clear view. I also have tactically moved a few buildings last year. Right now it runs fairly good, but occasionally a car gets tracked at opposite of the road, as due to bad coverage on a few spots the system wrongly defines the car position. The new software has now a good tool to show where a car has poor tracking (eg tracked position is more than 3 cm wrong) , so now I can more focused work to eliminate remaining "dark" spots. I am planning to add a few more satellites. There is a lot of work hours in it. Han
@@HaSaKoh0Modelrailroad Of course. Your layout really has an absurd attention to detail, any spectator can really see your expertise and the amount of effort you put into it. I really appreciate it, keep up the great work! 👍🏻💪🏻From italy
Well thank you for such a nice compliment. Indeed I try to add as much as possible details in the scenery. Actually the UA-cam and Instagram movies have stimulated me to add even more detail, as it shows off on the video. Greetings from Belgium
Auch gut,das mal so zu zeigen!
Die Modell automatische techniek ist leider uberhaubt nicht zo zuverlassig. Oft wenn ich eine schone video woll machen, dann geht etwas false.
I think it's important to remind everyone that no creatures human or animal were harmed in making these scenes.
😂😂😂
Very good
Imagine how much goes in to the layout for position tracking, do tall buildings cause blockages a lot. ? Or are these one off examples. ?

Your layout is amazing
Thank you xXxX. Have you seen the overview video I published 1 week ago ??
