The City Edge Layout Model Railroad with amazing Miniature Cars in HO scale

  • At the worlds largest model railway exhibition, called Miniature Wonderland, the small self-driving cars were used for the first time on model train layouts. They call it microcar, minicar, car system or Faller Car System, DC Car or simply model car. The city edge layout model railroad in HO scale includes more than 100 mini cars. Pilentum tried to film the streets and houses always from a frog’s perspective.

    Mind blowing modeling and weathering. Love the automation. The only thing that broke the illusion for me was the instantaneous acceleration and braking. A pulse width modulation circuit to ease in and ease out the motor would fix that.

    • @TheFreaker86
      @TheFreaker86 2 роки тому +6

      The technology they use for this is 20 years old now. This was implemented right at the initial opening of the exhibition. And since then it is used throughout the whole model layout. And they have grown and still are growing quite a bit. So changing the acceleration and deceleration would be doable I guess (they have done other much more difficult projects I would estimate), but doing so is a considerably big change in size.

      That was the only standout for me too. Absolutely incredible composition and layout.
      With the right directional lighting I am sure many scenes here would be completely indistinguishable from real city settings.

    Absolutely mesmerizing! Between the miniature people in the vehicles, the vehicles moving and navigating turns themselves, and the humans walking among the models, i am delighted as to be so confused exactly where in this Gulliver’s world of modeling i really exist. We need more of this to keep our perspective in a crazy world.

    The detail is amazing. I particularly like the fact that not everything is meant to look brand new--buildings, streets and even vehicles (Mercedes) . . . which in my opinion,
    gives the model considerably more authenticity and realism.

      You would be really disapppointed with the outcome. Those car tires are really hard and the cars have no suspension. So footage will be extreme shaky.
