Next is a range test with a 150 lb rider, and then someone well over 200 lbs riding the same bike, same track.
That’s a great idea!
lol makes a huge difference! 260 here and had to go with the ultra bee and my buddy with a Surron x gets about the same range! 😂
@@erikjohnson5608bro you’ve got a built in upgrade if you get shredded at like 220 I bet you’d notice the difference on the bike
@@user-yg3um5hc2x that’s a great way of looking at it and what makes you think I’m not shredded? 😂
@@erikjohnson5608 pretty hard to be shredded at 260 unless you’re 6’5-6’7 or a body builder, if that’s the case then buy a gas bike because you’re weight will greatly effect the bikes performance, if you can lose weight you don’t need then send it. Shredded doesn’t mean strong or big by the way it means having a low body fat percentage.
17:16 It's about fun! I like that!
Thanks for sharing!
Aloha and take care
Can’t get over how good the 250 sounds
Man…digging these comparison videos!
great video beautiful riding spot im in nyc the only thing i hit on my ultra bee is potholes
This ride was freakin awesome. This is what youtube was meant for. Thanksnfor bringing is along.
Very glad you enjoyed coming for a ride with us!
That sounds about right for an Ultra Bee. We had a stockish Ultra Bee race in Virginia City Grand Prix and it got 30miles over 2 laps and the battery died on it at the very end.
Thanks guys for doing this. Good info to have.
EPIC!!!!!
Huge thank you from Herriman
Great video Charged Team!
50 miles is pretty impressive, it was mostly level but still impressive. But the real test is, when you are done eating lunch, which one can you refuel and go back out on?
250r please
Awesome job showing where EV's are at in the ... REAL WORLD. I'm so looking forward to how it improves in the future. Thanks guys.
Great video. Looked like a really chill crew.
Awesome day... great riding fellas!
Some absolutely beautiful footage there guys 👏
Really like videos. I hope to see you guys testing and comparing the Electric Motion XR soon!
Good Stuff!!
Glad to see these tastings!!! Love it!!! I was rooting for Stark bike haha!!!
Okkayyy nice work boys!!!!😮😮😮
I like your videos very much, very interesting
Great Video!! oh man I want to try all them bikes lol.. dang sucks about Trails shuting down what the fuzz
Love the vids! Helping me tide over my wait for the edirtbike I have on the way. Any guesses which one I got? ;)
Earned my sub with Ricky being upside down 😂😂
Awesome video as always! As a UB owner would like to see a range test of the fully modified UB at 20 hp to see if there is any range improvement. My UB is mostly stock and I think the sport mode power is enough for most situations!
Sport mode is definitely enough for most situations and we absolutely love riding our stock ultra bees when they have wheels suspension and handlebars on them!
Is there a chance to see a video of the artic leopard e-at500 or 600?
Can't find reviews or something 😞
you guy's should check out the cao-fen could be interesting bike to. Oh i'd like to see that test for the light bikes. LBX, sting r, eride pro, falcon.
🐝🏁 EBIKES, video 👍👌
Great video, what power setting were you running the Varg on? I'm assuming you had regen at 100%. I have a Varg too, love it but I've only rode moto on it at the moment
He said 36kwh In the beginning I think
Great review, i wish u all had a Dust Moto to also include in the test
Soon! That bike is definitely gonna be designed for the backyard and small track environment but plenty of videos will be coming!
Really imformative but fun video. Now to add the other Artic Cat I mean Artic Leopard bikes im the test. I know you have the exe800 so why didnt you include it ? Really want to see the ex800 when you get it which might beat them all.
We only have the EXE 880 in our fleet. The ex 800 is hopefully coming soon. What are your thoughts on why the ex800 might beat it?
@@ChargedCycleWorks Les power and a lot less weight. Don't know what they are doing not getting that thing available already as it should be a real hit with the Ultra Bee crowd and enduro racers.
I have a CCW UB, with CCW Warp9 21/18 wheels. + 2 rear sprocket? I forget. Non O-ring chain, stock otherwise.
Just got 37 & 40.7 miles at China Hat Oregon. Came back for several miles each ride with 6%-0% on the battery.
Still under its own power at 0%! We rode out to about 70% on my battery & limp back on the final 30% to 0%.
Not bad - I was surprised. Yet I need more range as 'limping back' sucks.
Love my Ultra Bee - just need more range, not necessarily more power.
Great range test CCW, gnarly terrain. We ride open trees to tight trees, all KTM's but me.
Keep up the good work CCW Braaap!
The upgraded 72v battery that we offer for the ultra works with the stock controller flawlessly and gives you the extended range. Truly an awesome upgrade for not wanting more power and purely trying to push distance!
@@ChargedCycleWorks
I am seriously looking into that battery. I like the stock options and don't tend to overthink settings - mostly stock and my bike just goes. The option of the X-9000 is enticing too. I would adjust D to just slightly more than stock D, and S a bump up also.
Its all about range for me.
Thanks for the response! 🙂
after riding all the e bikes on all types of terrain i would say the stark, the storm bee and a upgraded ultra bee have the most range out of all e bikes. in no particular order but i have been able to go super far with the stark unlike every other bike ive ridden.
I was really hoping the Varg would be a 50 mile bike but so far I’ve never been able to get 50 miles out of it. However the 240v charging is incredibly fast and allowed us to finish the 8 hour Gypsy 500 race with them!
Could you make another video showing the bikes through the same sections? The Arctic Leopard seems like it is dramatically quieter than the others for some reason.
The reason is seems that way is due to the mic in DJ’s helmet. It really only picks up his voice. But we could make a short on our Instagram for that!
@@ChargedCycleWorks Please put it on youtube as well for those of us that try to limit our consumption of internet nonsense.
Just ride the trail! 😂
I love all your content. But these range numbers vary a lot. Many times where I ride it'll take us 4 hours to go 15 MI. Because it's very steep tight technical single track. And I'll still have 45% battery left on my ultra bee. I'm sure when I take it out to the desert next month it'll be lucky to last over 2 hours
You are absolutely right. Every ride will always be different, we wanted to do a comparison on the same trail with the same pace amongst different bikes.
Same thing on a gas bike, I can get 70+ miles off my 300 when "trail riding" but when I'm racing it's
Awesome video editing.. I assume you now have a professional videographer?
We do!
👌
Thats the land of a CR500 with a big tank, high gearing and a nasty sand tire. I'll volunteer to take my 500 and down there and do a Stark vs CR500 video on range. I'm going full wick in the sand. It will look like that 250 4-stroke is standing still.
Time to do Artic vs 250 only
50mile , absolut Impossible to imagine here in Germany 😢 ... Great Test .
why is that?
That random girl walking in the dunes git too me 😮😂
holy guacamole the Varg has a 360 volt battery!
by your numbers and my math that makes a "fun" efficiency of about 135wh/mi (131 UB, mod UB 136, 136 Varg, EXE 880 maybe 140?)
All things being equal (which they definitely are not) this means
2,500-ish watthour bikes (Surron X, Talaria Sting R MX4, E Ride Pro SS, Rawrr Mantis) should go just under 20 miles at that discharge rate
3500-ish watthour bikes (Ventus One, MotoTec Venom) = 25 mi
6000 watthour bikes (EXE 880, Varg, Storm bee) = 45 mi
How much regeneration with the 38 hp was on your stark?
30% regen
Would be helpful to know elevation gain.
You guys gotta try the new 88v 76ah ultra bee battery
Ewatt...need to get one of those.
Very interesting. I'm own a Storm Bee and an Ultra Bee. They are hardly modified. My fun rides are an hour and I can get about 3-4 of those rides before recharging. I ride directly from my door and back to my door. All off-road.
I think 6 hours of that would break me. It's very technical terrain. Much more mountainous than your ride. So one hour is enough.
I've never run out of battery but I did get down to 10% on a 45km ride, all off-road over 3 mountain passes (and back). I guess that's about 30 miles. It was enough and probably about 2 hours of riding.
I can't personally justify the cost of a bigger battery. Honestly I'd rather have a smaller battery to save some weight. I'd be somewhat interested in a half weight battery with half the range if anybody offered it.
Light weight (and less expensive) race batteries are coming soon :)
That’s great!
Electrics cold be improved with higher kv motors and proper cooling also transmission
Why no Zero FX ..?.
"Dirty gassers"! 😅
Definitely sarcasm, sometimes you just gotta play the part of the EV environmentalist haha
now how long does it take to charge each one back up to be able to ride again? the honda takes 30 seconds to fill up and carry on. while interesting you simply cant beat gas and thats all there is to it. w electric your constantly thinking ride slower etc. to save battery. gas, no such thought or worry enters your mind. you simply ride to enjoy yourself.
In terms of range, Gas bikes will always be dominate and we love them for that, but riding an electric bike is an incredible, and fun new experience in the dirt bike world. Both have their advantages, and disadvantages, at the end of the day the goal is to have fun on your two wheeled machine.
Gas wins, get a desert tank, and have a 5 gallon Jerry can back at truck.
There's a reason why desert tanks exist for gas bikes.
There absolutely is and we love our gas bikes, this channel is dedicated to electric testing.
@@ChargedCycleWorks Yeah I like to think of the bigger batteries the same as a desert tank, they stick out the top the same way. Older bikes had nearly double the tank size as current ones. I know a 1990 RMX250 had a 3.4 gallon tank, while a modern RMZ250 only has 1.7 gallons. It makes a big difference when desert racing.
I want 125 cc equivalent Varg with KYB suspension
That's an interesting idea, I think the closest thing to that would be a mid-sized bike like a modified Ultra Bee or the future Dust Moto bike. The Varg at 265lbs is far from a 125 but the mid-sized bikes feel a lot like one.
NO STORM BEE?!
Agreed where is it haha!!!
We don't have a Storm Bee in our Fleet, would have to borrow one...from what we've seen it has a similar range to the Ultra Bee.
We had a Storm Bee race Virginia City Grand Prix and it was the fastest bike but they only had one battery. It did 2 laps totalling 30miles and it had 10% soc left. So it will go a little farther than an Ultra Bee.
We've been racing Ultra Bee and Varg at our GP's in Utah and probably because of the much higher speeds and sand we can toast even the Stark Varg battery in
What was the regen settings at?
All bikes ran 25% regen
@@ChargedCycleWorkseven the Honda? 😂
fight for your trails, guys, or you will end up like we in Germany...
“Which electric dirt bike is in charge?”
2024 Admit Jet Armor next vid?
Would be fun to test an electric bike with gears!
We need 300kw/kg batteries !
that was a great comparison but can we all admit that those batteries will wear out and not be able to hold a full charge and will be super expensive to replace but the gas bike with proper care will continue to get its full range with the costly expense
The newer batteries (currently too expensive for a dirt bike) hvae double the energy density of current batteries. That would give most Ebikes more range than the petrol bike. 😮
Can't wait for technology and price to catch up
@@ChargedCycleWorks I got the specs for new cells. I can get 12kWh into a Storm Bee. Unfortunately they are currently 10 times the price. I believe the military doesn't care about the price. I hope it won't be long before they get to the same price.
@@franciscoshi1968Making these bikes lighter would be insane too.
Not a scientific test. What is the point?
it's almost like surron isn't even top of the line or even worth the ridiculous overcharge
ppl been sayin it lmao
crazyyy
In our opinion the best "bang for buck" bike is the Surron Ultra Bee, for it's low price you get a mid-sized bike with quality parts that has incredible range out of the box all covered by a factory warranty. You have to spend significantly more money to buy or make any other bike as capable as the Ultra Bee. It's a phenomenal bike for $6500.
Be safer! Racing is overated.
Stopping every few miles is boring too much talking definitely not enough riding. Boring
