Don’t forget to Lube up Leroy’s mechanical fuel line! (I think it was every 800miles or so) keep doing it for Dale!
Good reminder
They need to do attachable pipe to take the tractor flap off while travelling, simple elbow fitting and 4 foot of pipe to run the exhaust over the roof and past james, same for leroy
They'll probably disconnect the mechanical fuel pump drive cable when they drive cause the in tank pump is plenty and it'll save on wear
I think its closer to 1500 miles. I remember them saying if they lubed it before they left it would be good the whole trip when they installed it.

You could run a "flex fuel system" and then just drain the tank of pumpgas at the track using the fuel pump.
This needs to reach the top. I looked through to see if it was mentioned before saying it. It would by far be the easiest thing to do.
I wholeheartedly agree, was gonna say the same thing myself.
Agreed, you can literally forget about it and just fill up with whatever you want
@@Bskinnie If you took the time to watch the video you would know that they are planning to do that :(
The TermX can do flex fuel, but they'll be fine just uploading a separate tune...if things don't get hectic & someone forgets their job. At min you'll want a Continental ethanol sensor on the return line (tee/parallel it with the main return if flow is a concern). Matt @ Sloppy Mechanics could help you again with that.
For the actual swap, you just drain via the elec pump (capped tee on return line), add 1-2gal of E98, flush that out, then the next full refill will be 98% of target. The majority of ethanol's air-charge cooling is present after a 50% ratio anyways.

Install a small tank for e90 to run on at the track, direct plumb it to the big pump. Then somewhere along the line after the big pump install a 1” three way valve with -16 adapters to hook into Ruby’s existing fuel line and what ever adapters are needed to hook whatever size line you install on the small pump to the other side of the three way and now you have a selectable dual fuel system. Keep doin it for DALE!! Good luck on Rocky Mountain Raceweeks
What i do on dragweek, is pull a fuel line off at the rail and use a union and a short piece of spare hose then let the fuel pump push the fuel to a container. Also watch your mileage real close normally i can roll into the next track with limited gasoline in the tank. Good luck happy to see you guys doing RMRW.
Pro fab could make a sheet metal roof, weld like 6 tabs on the cage and make it removable with quick release pins so you can take it off easier.
If he got a roof it could be permanent, ole Leroy needs all the aerodynamic assists he can get
nick springer this is true, it’d clean up the air heading over the spoiler so it’d provide more downforce as well.

Dude, you can tell all James thinks is “what are the a/f/r’s doing, what’s the EGT, what’s the temp” at all times during that ride along
Why? It's not something that must be checked every minute while driving. Just keeping a normal look at oil, temp, battery etc. If your worried that much about the other two why even take the trip. Those other things are important on a pass under load.
Sure it doesn't hurt to check here and there but if you have a problem with EGT's under normal driving you have big problems.

I love how you guys do the turbos. BUT... ruby would look so sweet with that turbo and exhaust tucked, a hood and that huge intake sticking out. Oh man
Couldn't you just use the saddlebag tanks as plumbed seperately?
Or better yet, for the e-90 just install a small fuel cell in the back, next to the ice tank.
The saddle bags use the same fill though so a new one would have to be made then have the cross over blocked off
Saddlebags for the drive and disconnect for racing, drain surge tank and fill up e90 for the track.
Did you copy my reply lol? Totally makes sense to use the bags for gas and a small tank for e-90
Since i have started watching, this and fasterproms have become my favorite channels on youtube. Thanks 1320 for showing me cleetus!
You should give Goonzquad a look also
Separate fuel tank/pump for pump gas, put a tee with double shutoff valves on the return lines so you can pick which tank the fuel returns to. When you get to the track switch fuel pumps/tanks and return a little extra fuel to the low octane pump gas tank to make sure you purged it all out.
Nice dog. I'm surprised a cop doesn't pull him over and give him a ticket for "obstruction of view" with that engine sticking up that high. LOL

@Jake Heke Just maybe.
For the fuel issues - Im running an 8.6:1 (N/A) dynamic that barely runs on 93. We have a D1SC charger on it that we obviously cant run without race fuel with it about to knock on 93. So we made a seperate fuel cell, a tiny little thing to keep weight down, good for about one pass and, most of the time, back to the pit before she cuts off. We have a switch valve near the intake and 2 sets of fuel lines. Theres 2 different serpentines that we swap out to bypass the charger for road use, and a cone filter goes in place of the pressure tube at the intake. When we have the big serpentine on, we just make sure theres 110 or 115 in the little tank in the trunk and use the flip valve at the intake. When switching the valve, always run her for a few seconds to flush the residual 93 octane through the injectors, then swap the belts and put the pipe on. You're using a turbo so obviously cant bypass it, but that tank solution did wonders for us. Valve doesn't need to be anything fancy, just has to hold pressure. Home Depot should have you covered ;) lol
put a T fitting inline on the fuel line with a valve on the exit, then run the fuel pump with the valve open to shoot all the gas out of the line
Y'all r truly the coolest bunch of dudes! Thanks for sharing your awesome adventures!✌️
Put the stock hood back on Ruby. Just do a tight clearance job around the interferences like Coopers V1.
Yeah Coop's hood is classy AF. I love that car. Terribly unreliable but so nice!! Lol
I guess they'll hold off on that until the current engine goes up into flames. I think I remember something about a backup 6.3 but I'm not sure anymore.
They don't like when you tell them what to do. Did you see the Cleetus scolds his subscribers video lol. Don't make him take the body panels off her.
Hey Cleetus; get yourself some boat gas tanks and some extra fuel line. Keep the pump gas in those then all you have to do at the track is switch back to the primary fuel line. They only run about 6 gallons though but saves you having to siphon, etc
Pull the fuel line from the fuel rail and use the ecu to pump the gas into a gas can with additional length hose of course. You can put e90 in the tank and flush all gas out. Reattach fuel line and let er rip tater chip. Bonus you can use the gas e90 blend immediately after leaving the track so nothing wasted.
2:02 "yeah get ready for this"
proceeds to fail so bad 😂
go for a secondary fuel cell thats removable or custom build a twin tank witha transfer switch that run the high octane of the solid huge fuel pump then the secondary side is a pump gas running your standard fuel pump. may work best stacked to maintain a leve side to side weight ratio!!stay safe !
Gandy Beach!! I grew up near there...I even rode my motorized bike around that same spot you guys stopped at. That's cool man!!!
Disconnect the fuel line at the fuel rail and run the fuelpump to drain the pump gas. Done it before and it works really well!
Dual tank with a selector🤷🏻♂️
93 fuel cell in the trailer with a hose running from it? Idk about if the rules allow that
The fuel cell for the e-90 wouldn't have to be large, just enough to do a few passes. Keep the main tank for the pump gas, and all set.
Alright guys, if you make a detach tank at about twenty gallons, maybe just use AN fittings and swap them and pull tank at the track to shed the added weight, doesn’t necessarily have to be a selector valve and what not, I don’t know the rules on the race, just a suggestion🤷🏻♂️ P M has a good idea though
Saddlebags for the drive and disconnect for racing, drain surge tank and fill up e90 for the track.
Bogging deep on the beach with no filter!!! 🇺🇸 MERICA 🇺🇸
You know it!!
It's always so weird to drive a car you only track on the street. lol
Ideally have a 5 gal. Fuel cell with race fuel and pump gas in the tanks with a valve and a dump valve to lower weight for the strip. If your running a return style valve that. Run the return the tanks for 2-3 seconds and switch return to the fuel cell. But not sure if this would pass tech or can be done in time.
where is the hood tho? in the beginning you said you wanted to put the hood on LOL
ive been confused about that too..... Id like to see Ruby in the wind tunnel.... im possibly wrong, but i though that was the idea of ruby is because Leroy was so bad in the wind tunnel???

Milwaukee makes a really cool pump on the M18 system. You could rig hoses to it and use that for transfer. Small pump and lightweight.
Hey cleatus. When switching from pump gas to ethanol the best way to drain the pump gas into a jerry can is to undo your fuel line hose and let the pump suck your tank dry, you might wanna make up a little attachment from your cars fuel line so you can extend it.
Hope this helps as thats what we do

Look up "transfer pump" for the fuel. There are electric, hand wind and even cheapo plastic ball style. Go for the hand wind one if you have a decent access hole (think oil drum cap size or bigger) or an electric one with a T into the line lowest down and a stop tap to allow it to be removed.
Of course you could use the cars own pumps and just have a switched T in the line to the rail but that only works if they're electric and you have plenty of battery power.
On gasoline engines, I have often just pulled the gas line, at the injection rail. The put that into a jerry can. Once you turn the key to the on position the fuel pumps generally come on. Cycle that a few times, and the tank will likely be dry. (theres often a timer in most ecu's that if pressure isn't reached in the rail to turn the pump off so not to burn it up/flood the ground) This beats the hell out of trying to use a transfer pump. You might need fittings since your using a AN line setup. That an a extra length of hose to attack to the fitting then go to the can. This also keeps the weight down, and what you need to carry down.
Disconnect a fitting upstream of the big fuel pump and stick the hose in a gas can. Switch on the pump and viola.
Well there it is, someone DID post the same idea that I did before me.

Fuel drain solution at track.
Unhook the feed line in front of the pump. Turn on pump and poof empty tank. Put a Y there with a cap attach a long hose to a jug while it's at the track.
Run a second tank with a valve to switch between the two. could be a manual valve or electronic controlled. it would be the easiest and quickest way. Super simple!! Good luck on the 1300 miles!!
Add a AN "T" fitting then hose to somewhere convenient put a good valve (AN style) then you can use a AN cap or AN hose to a fuel jug.Put the cap on the valve when not using it and tyrap the valve closed. You will need easy access to the valve so you can control the flow into the jug(im sure that pump will piss like a fire hose)
You should put a drainage mechanism on the tank or even install a second tank and a way to change tanks
Would you be able to plumb one take for pump gas and the other for e90 with quick disconnect fuel lines ?
Add an AN-16 Tee in your supply line between the pump and tank for a gravity drain. Add a length of line to the tee with a ball valve and AN plug at the end and route to a convenient location. Actually you could probably tee off after the electric fuel pump and Ruby and let the pump dump it in a can for you.
Even better.. If you have any extra inline fuel pump kicking around you could just use it as a transfer pump. Remove AN plug, hook up transfer pump, open valve, fire up the pump and crack a Dew.
Lmao “Stop light 2-step check?...Yup it works.” 🤣😂🤣😂 this was one of the funniest videos they’ve done. Should do more cockpit cruises with you two.

that, or Ruby already has saddle tanks, use one for ethanol the other for street fuel
Bog deep brother! Love the content! Keep up the amazing work and keep being the best UA-camr ever! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
you need a windshield wiper fluid pump and a long tube to put down into the gas tank. then just hook 2 leads up to a battery and it'll kick on and siphon out all the gas. :) it'll work :) just don't expect the pump to last too long doing that. They're cheap tho so no worries :)
I'm glad that heat is staying where it belongs. In swampass Florida! Nice and cool in Colorado.
disconnect the fuel line at the engine and run to to a gas can, then let the pump do the work to get the gas out of the tank!
** 9:09 +3 seconds ** Insert breakdown, and use of head-gasket sealant to repair enough to drive home.
hehehehe
30 seconds in and we got twinkle toes cooper! 😂😂 this is going to be a good one
Get a fitting that you can cap off installed onto each fuel tank and have a small pump with a line that fits onto that fitting that is attached to each fuel pump, and use that fuel pump or regular old pump and some extra fuel line to drain the fuel out of the tanks before switching back to E90.
Can't wait to see them both rippin HELL YEA BROTHER
New camera? Video looks extra crispy. high definition on point
You can run a split valve in the system. Stock pump assembly runs the pump gas ans just run a window switch to change the way the motor turns to suck the fuel out of the lines and back into the tank. Switch to the other tank with an external pump. Dont know if the cars are setup to do that easily but thats what i would consider doing. Or just run pump gas and hook up a siphon tube and a window switch to the pump so you can suck the lines dry back into the tank and pull the fuel out of the tank.
For the fuel swap - add a T-fitting in the fuel line and cap it off. Then when you want to drain the tank, uncap it and hook to an external low-pressure fuel pump going to a spare tank -- done!!

I like the fuel cell or e85 option or both. No horses here only bald eagles! I second the idea of pro Fab should just make you a roof for Leroy. Good luck at Rocky mountain race week! You are crazy! Also maybe consider putting fuel transfer station on trailer for Ruby
@Cleetus Put a plug in the bottom of each gas tank, of each car? You can drain the tanks while you swap the slicks on, then run the cars until they consume whats left in the line and rail. That's how I think I would go about it. That or run an extra 3gal or 5gal cell that I could swap the pump feed too, maybe mounted in the trunk in Ruby or above Leroy's cell.
James and that damn Hooked on da sauce shirt.. lol. Seen it in so many episodes
Doesn't Holley have a flex fuel sensor that changes your maps on the fly depending on the Ethanol content in the system? I know Haltech does.
Twisted yes
@twisted That was my first thought. If haltec has it so should Holley.
Add a small reserve tank to Leroy and Ruby just for the E90. 93 in the regular tank for cruising and traveling between the tracks then just switch maps and turn the petcock thats tapped into the fuel line to let the E90 flow in place of the 93.... not sure about the pumps though...
