I hope Andrew that you and Kristi gave each other a big hug after this live stream, I for one appreciate it's your job and that I and many many others enjoy all your content for FREE ! I think your lovely people keeping it real thank you for the channel, much love 😊
*Thank you again to everyone who was able to tune in live. If you are curious about our livestream schedule, when we do them, they'll always air on Friday mornings during our usual Unplugged video time. We'll see you on Sunday with a new review! Enjoy your weekend.*
I’ve been watching for a couple years now and I often go back and watch videos from 3-4 years ago. Being able to listen to Kristi grow and develop her knowledge of components and the intricacies of being able to put her thoughts together and articulate them in a way that makes sense to the most discerning of viewers has been very impressive. Never has it mattered that she is not on camera, I’d like to think that the people here care about the substance of the review and the thoroughness of the work that goes into it. I’ll speak for everyone, Kristi, you do you , we’ll keep watching and listening regardless.
This could be the most powerful livestream you guys have done yet, I think I speak for so many people when I say you give so much back to us all, it doesn’t even matter to some of us what you’re reviewing or if we aren’t as interested in a given product, we will always support you and appreciate your honesty, I really feel like we know so much about you both that you’re more than just a ‘reviewing’ channel and that we’re more of a community and we’re more friends, I can’t think of one single other channel that I follow that I get that connection from. No matter what you guys choose years down the line, you will have a strong following I know it, not just because of your reviewing skills, but because of your personalities. Thanks for all the content you keep providing us, there really isn’t a better UA-cam channel, my partner she isn’t into audio as such, she loves music, she’s very respectful to all the gear we have, she tries to humour me! but she’s not fussed about gear, but even she loves listening to you guys, and loves the aesthetics and other topics you cover and sometimes she will bring you up into conversation sometimes, which is a huge win, it’s not always just about the Hifi! Thanks guys!
So, I've been so busy with work and travel. So, I've had to watch the live stream in parts. Thanks Andrew and Kristi for being real and open! You're genuine people with struggles just like me. That MATTERS, a lot! I connect with your humanity and your integrity. That's why I follow you and watch every video. I have the opportunity to watch others in your space (and sometimes I do) but I'm not watching all of their content and interacting with them. To be honest, I run a business and have very little time. So what I choose to spend my time doing and with who is very important to me. So, thanks for being real. Don't change what you're doing. It's good work. In fact, its great work!
Thank you very much for what you both do for this community. Your channel has reignited my passion for this hobby and your reviews are some of the few I trust. Over the last few years since I have found your channel your channel has introduced me to products I never would have known about! Because of your excellent work, I have an Arylic S50 pro, Audiolab 6000a Play, and have owned a Cambridge AXA 35 that was just replaced with an AXR 100. Your reviews will directly influence my next purchase of a TV and any other products in this space. Thank you for not being beholden to the manufacturers, and providing honest reviews even when you know it’ll piss off the manufacturer. Don’t let the whiners get you down- you absolutely deserve to make a living producing this product we consume as viewers. Keep on keeping on! Thank you!
Hi Andrew and Kristi. Your reviews and opinions are always honest and that's what i love about the channel. You will always get people who take offence at something you have said but for 99% of people out there who just want to buy a product that works and sounds good out of the box, you are usually spot on. I'm always turned off by other channels who claim that adding this or upgrading that will make a night and day difference. The vast majority of those who claim that night and day then caveat it with , "If you've spent multiple thousands of dollars treating your room etc. Far too many people claim a massive difference after upgrades when they really mean very subtle differences, half of which can be explained by confirmation bias to justify the costs involved.
Andrew and Kristi I had to delay watching the latter portion of livestream but was really touched by the discussion of the efforts involved in your content production. It's easy to see how burnout begins to set in putting in 12 hour days 6 days a week. The quality of your content really shines through as a result of your attention to detail. I was really surprised when you discussed security concerns. It's really a sad commentary on our society when a YT AV gear reviewer has to resort to security measures out of safety concerns. Just wanted to show you two some extra appreciation for all the great content you provide. Thanks ❤
First off I wanna thank you both so much for this channel. It’s my favourite UA-cam content for years although I usually don’t react or interact cause I often say it later than the release/ livestream date. I really don’t understand why people would out you cause as a faithful fan you know what kind of information you’ll get from your video’s and if it’s not the right information for someone they should look elsewhere instead of nitpicking or taking things out of context. I really hope you keep doing what you do. Love you both and am truly proud of what you’ve achieved!
I really appreciate the brutal honesty and insight into your professional lives. Sad that you would have to go down this road. I wish your fellow youtubers would treat you as have treated them. And I hope you NEVER retire! Keep the videos coming!
Also I believe full hearted, that Andrew and Kristi are nice people and are sincere about their reviews and I enjoy watching them even if I will probably never buy anything that they have there channel and that's only because I am a diy guy and a minimalist
Wow that was quite a live stream I missed! Between the strong start about Danny's response and the personal struggles towards the end... Can't say you guys don't share with your audience! Thanks for the transparence. Happy for your success even though it comes with significant downside...
The 4 hours time didn't mind at all, on the contrary, getting personal gives better focus on your perspective as a human, where the viewers can "decode" easier the information you guys share. Plus a sensitive human side is useful to remind us you guys are not machines... luv ya!
@2:25:00 "I think we might be wrapping up, might give you another 10 minutes or so" Goes a further 1.5 hours longer lol. Great long Q&A video as always, looking forward to that Apple tv 4k vs kaleidoscope though I don't think we can get the latter in Australia.
FWIW Being a tinkerer and a modder and I Love my Cornwall IVs, I was able to ask Roy Delgado (via a dealer) what he would have used in the Cornwall's crossover if price was no object. His reply was "Whatever else you wanted to use, they would not be Cornwall IVs". My pair remains untouched.
Of course that's what Roy has got to say. Do you realize how hard he worked to get the IV's to sound that good "within a price point". I'm sure he's very proud of those crossovers, and he's a company man, supporting Klipsch. I also have CW-IV's. I'm very happy with them, and yet I have the bug to upgrade them. I've already put damping mat on the backs of the mid-horns. I 'think' it cleaned up the mids a bit. When I tap on the horn, it's nice and dead sounding rather than plastiky. Somehow, that matters to me.
@@TheMirolab You “think” it cleaned up the mids? I owned a pair of original Forte speakers. Caught the upgrade bug and “thought” I’m gunna make em “better”. Ended up selling them because they no longer sounded like Forte’s after the “improvements”. I won’t do the “upgrade” thing again. Either I like the sound the engineers gave the product price point or not or I don’t. If I don’t then time to change into something I do like. A different sound is not automatically better.
Hi from Australia, thanks for everything you do, been following you folks for a while and really value both of you and your even handed, clear and genuine evaluations, sadly there seem to be a lot of people eager to be offended these days. On a happier note I congratulate you on treating your snake visitor with respect and consideration, I’m often relocating them off roads etc where I live. Please keep up the good work happy in the knowledge that you’re appreciated by the majority of us.
Thank you both for all your work . I love your videos they are always entering and informative. You certainly keep me entertained. It’s amazing how many people have real talent. What a time to be alive . My guess is your ancestors were doing cave paintings and storytelling .Keep it up we need you.
Hello from Sweden , It saddens me a bit that you have to spend so much time apologizing and defending yourself. People lose sight of how subjective Hifi and music is. You have the best Hifi show on UA-cam, keep doing it. You are awesome. Thank you very much.
Nice of you to apologize that much... but seriously: All you said was, that it doesn't matter what parts create great sound. Getting offended is a personal thing. I think offending people with facts isn't something anyone should apologize for... Have nice weekend ;)
I couldn’t feel that rant more at the end. I love that life is hard because it’s so rewarding. Love and genuinely look forward to what you both create. 3:30:07
It took 3 days but I got through the 4 hours. I've never even been able to get all the way through Avatar or Dune but something about you and K always keeps me coming back. Well done! Appreciate the openness. btw, I bought the mc312... Perfect? No. Bliss? No. Regrets? NONE. I love it. The sound is fuller and far more 'confident' - for lack of a better word. And as you put it, It's "Art", which also played a part in choosing my turntable, the Brass Renegade from S.A.M. I might even like the 312 more now after you downplayed my need to get it. It set my expectations to a more appropriate level. Thanks again. -Still using the Aventage for the streamer/dac/pre - for now...
I don’t watch as much as I used to. You wanna know why? I’ve learnt so much I don’t need to watch for my original purpose of developing my understanding of the hi fi field to buy and then up grade my system. Being a returnee to the field after so many years. I don’t need to watch so much now as I’ve watched loads of channels but in the end you and sometimes a couple other (Brit) are my channels. And you’re the man - Christie’s the woman! I’ve saved so many of yours as my reference library. I. don’t know if you Americans have this saying ‘don’t let the xastards grind you down’. Authentic always wins in the end.
Aloha Andrew and Kristi, You shared a very thought-provoking live stream. Thank you. I wish I knew more people like you personally. You sparked one idea on sponsorship that may have been something you already considered. The thought was at the end of a video offering something like, “if you liked this video please hit like and subscribe and please watch the following sponsor if you’d like to support this channel; otherwise thank you and we look forward to sharing our next review with you soon.” Maybe a sponsor ad at the end with an unrelated consumer product (you use or like), could be a source of revenue that still allows diversification with less pushback and/or stress. All the best, Todd
Sorry I missed you guys I’ve been in a lot of pain today and just couldn’t make it , but I wanted to let you guys know that how much I appreciate you two. I survived Hurricane Helene
don't sweat the GR-Research thing, I took your point as if you're buying a new set of speakers only to modify them to sound differently, then buy a different set of speakers. I think that's what you meant. I watched Danny's video yesterday and he definitely took it all to heart. Speaker builders design them to have a certain sound signature, regardless of graphs and charts. If you like it, great. If not, rebuild them yourself or buy a different set. Move on. I liked your video and agreed with a lot of it.
Hi Andrew, Just want to thank you for your honest and relatively jargon-free reviews, which helped me greatly when I was upgrading my hifi system. Recently, a track from a digital album I was listening to surprised me by its 3-dimensional soundstage. The bird sounds appear above near the ceiling, the rushing stream sounded like it was at the level of the speakers' feet, one instrument seemed to be playing inside my head or slightly behind, and I could place other instruments all over my room. What causes such 3-dimensionality in a recording? I don't remember encountering this phenomenon before. Most of the time instruments in music seem to be merely spread out between the speakers, not in front or behind them.
I always really appreciate these "how the sausage is made" portions of the videos that you do (the good and the bad), and the honesty and vulnerability are As for running ads and "selling out"... here's the thing. We're all sell outs. Every single one of us. We sell our time, we sell our bodies. I sell myself for my 9 to 5... because we all need food on the table, a roof over our head, and clothes on our bodies, and hopefully a hobby/pastime or two. I don't begrudge someone (ie creators) finding better or more diverse ways to do that, such as taking sponsorship deals. Where it gets a little fuzzy (and I'm speaking in very general terms), is where there's crossover in what someone is reviewing and what they're advertising. Would a Vessi sponsorship bother me on an audio review channel? Nope. Would an Audioquest sponsorship bother me? I might raise an eyebrow. But even then, it depends on the reviewer and their track record. I think you and Kristi have shown your integrity in your reviews, and that a cheque from... Marantz, let's say.... isn't going to change criticism levied if they release a dog of a product. But I get that there are either viewers that are more cynical, or haven't followed you long enough, that would be far more critical. And in your case, that math may not work out. Anyways, I love what the two of you do, I'm sticking around for the long haul, and you two have been a wealth of helpful, useful information. Thank you for what you do.
Who in their right mind would not understand that you need to make money to keep the channel afloat, you wanna make money from adds, do it!, don’t have a problem I’ll just fast forward if it doesn’t interest me. Having said that not sure why you feel you’ve had to tell us about it? Really appreciate the honest tell it how it is way you run the channel👍🏻
I appreciate your comment and your attitude towards ads and one's need to provide for themselves and their family. Unfortunately not everyone in this space shares your opinion and many become belligerent at the idea of people like me doing what I do for a living. I know it shouldn't matter, or that I shouldn't care, but because I'm somewhat a public figure, I do have to take some peoples' actions seriously as many go beyond mere comments.
It's funny how we humans can leave footprints in each other's lives, completely without knowing each other. You did it with your review of the Magnat Transpuls 1500, which I subsequently bought. Transpuls completely outclasses my Kef q950, which have now been sold to make permanent room for Transpuls. Did you manage to get a pair? Love your channel, greetings from Greenland.
I don't really think an apology is needed for stating, "I (you) don't care what's inside a speaker." It's your honest opinion and you can share that opinion however you like. The inference is that it doesn't matter what's inside, but how they sound from the outside. Keep up the Great Work Folks!
@andrewrobinsonreviews Sorry for not being able to listen live. Listen, you folks are a class act. Can't please everyone for sure. I'll say this - no one should be questioned when they work hard for an honest living. This is not 'free' per se ... but in some way it resembles a public service. Informative? Check. Entertaining? Check. Free to watch? Check. Beneficial? I think so, otherwise I wouldn't waste time. I click like and watch whenever I can. Thank you for your cool channel, and I'm positive many more folks feel like I do than haters who have nothing more to do than to poison the water. I love listening to music, and you make it even more lovable. All you need is love (I should write a song that says that ...). 🙃
You mentioned early in the stream that you like to run your towers full range with the support of your sub. Do you have any advice or resources on how to incorporate a sub with full range towers in a HT setting? If I simply add a high pass filter on the sub, that would limit the frequencies it could support the other speakers with. Interested to hear your approach!
Audio\Car comparison: I own a bone-stock, manual transmission, 1993 Mustang GT. The fox body mustang is maybe one of the most modded, upgraded muscle cars ever. People increased the horsepower, better trans, better suspension, better stereo… I have left it as is, since 1999. Its only original once. And im so glad i never made any alterations. Are there better, newer cars w better modern components? Yes. Could i update this thing if i wanted to spend 30K or more? Sure. But as average as this old car is, theres something about strapping into it and driving the time capsule. Theres nothing wrong with upgrading a Mustang. But i never felt the need. Just me. Cheers.
I'm late to the party. The quality of the crossover is what you expect for a speaker that price. All speakers use those parts unless you build your own speakers or spend around $10000 I design my own speakers so I don't know what's in my speaker 😊
You guys are the best! Love the current format but also love how you keep tweaking! QUESTION: Am I the only one interested in seeing you two review the GoldenEar T66? They look gimmicky with the integrated subs and I wasn't a fan since they sold to Audio Quest UNTIL, I auditioned a pair! WOW. Holographic imaging! Would love to get your thoughts. (Especially Krisi because I suffer from hearing loss and dialogue is KEY for me.) Anyway, keep it up!
Thanks! We're getting a lot of requests for Golden Ear products. I reviewed their earlier speakers when they first launched (though not on UA-cam) but nothing recently. Maybe we need to revisit the brand?
You guys do a fantastic job and that's why I watch probably all of the videos even if there is zero chance that I will be in the market for the product you are reviewing!
I thought it was quite clear, you were saying who cares about the brand if the audio coming from them is fantastic ie, the sound and enjoyment is what matters most, not any particular brand.
Being a Spaniard, I can tell you that coffee in Spain, in general, is quite crappy. It is usually torrefacto, which is when they coat the grain in burnt sugar. It makes the coffee much more bitter. Maybe you were lucky to find the exception.
Breville E said like BrevVill. Its a great brand, especially their coffee machines and food processors though you don't get the quad blade in the US that we get in Australia.
Great stream today. I’ve slowly ended up with a collection of receivers and speakers and was curious about the best recommendations as far as selling or consigning some equipment.
As you always say, you do you, but I would not have apologized to anyone for what you said in your video. People with no ability to comprehend the truth won't understand the apology either. All you needed to say, if anything, was if you want to tinker because you enjoy it or want to experiment then have at it. But if you enjoy your speakers as they are don't worry about the parts it's made of as they are obviously doing their job. And if you enjoy your speakers as they are then no one else's opinion on the sound or the parts used to create the sound matters one whit. End of story.
I don't think you need to apologise for a common sense opinion. Any mass produced speaker for say, under $1000 will need to compromise on materials used in the crossover. If you worry about parts quality, then you'll need to look at spending in the next tier up where there's margin for better quality components. Chasing improvements buying kits for budget speakers isn't a cost effective approach. IMO. However, if you're a DIY enthusiast and this is your thing, then go for it.
What would you recommend for a much better replacement for my B&W 603 s2 speakers, I drive them with a MC 312 and a C2800 pre Amp my room is medium sized any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Great stream thanks for the insight ,I feel once you get beyond a certain point you need to delegate some things or it takes over your life same as business and of course it's difficult also too many viewers have unrealistic expectations with regard to your ethical purity and don't understand the commercial reality of UA-cam especially once you grow to a particular size
Some vintage gear still has a place for its design and quality against any modern system. If you can afford and also obtain a repair refurbish then it is worth doing or trying to do even if then you pass it on sell or gift. I have done this for satisfaction even when I did not get back my out of pocket costs. I have speakers from 1980 that outperform most systems and are not worse or better but just different to some very high end recently manufactured speakers. It has cost me over the last 10 years more on repairs than they are subjectively worth and more than I could buy the same model for but I know what they are and what has been done to them where as buying a replacement might fail a month or two down the line just because the time is up for a part of the circuit. It is always worth while to see if there is a buyer of even broken and too expensive to repair systems as someone might like to restore it or need parts to refurbish a system by using donor systems and if none come forward then recycle (scrap it).
Mobile fidelity cd's. Were those the gold disc's. I have the gold "wish you were here" disc from i think 1996. If those are the same disc's, the only place i've found them is ebay since most are out of print or were a limited run.
So in a recent video I heard you comment about while testing with my Kaleidescape and then the cover of this video had a picture of one in it but after listening all 3 hours of it I didn’t hear you comment on it. I would love to hear your opinion of the Strato that you are testing and using.
The review is on the way, but during our testing, we discovered a bug with Dolby Vision. Kaleidescape has (apparently) isolated the problem we found and is addressing it in an update. I’m waiting for a firmware update before finalizing my review.
It's difficult to foresee any situation where any kind of apology is ever required to a shyster like Mr Richie. I'm grateful for people such as yourself who tell it straight. The only situation where parts could matter is where a lack of quality control is a factor. Thankfully, this is quite a rare situation, since the imperative is on the manufacturer to avoid long term financial and reputational damage by ensuring that such things do not happen. I can remember just how long it took Dell to recover from the mistake of fitting leaky capacitors to some of their Dimension PCs some 20 years ago. As far as I know, Dell made sure that this never happened again. Anyway, best of luck for the future. I hope you don't get entangled in too many of these moral conundrums you talked about. Let's not forget that just about every single successful UA-cam channel HAS to major on entertainment. Even audiophiles want entertainment first, and information second. The truth usually trails somewhere behind... Nevertheless, the truth is still important to many of us out there.
The speaker/car mod analogy is a flawed one. While you can objectively measure a car’s performance by its 0-60 time, the sound that speakers make is subjective. I take that Andrew just don’t want people to spend money on “upgrade” on sound that people may or may not like in the end because it is subjective. Disclaimer: I also don’t like GR research (my opinion) because I feel that he will say anything to sell his products.
I did not know that. Being honest, I hear great things about Australia (I really want to go) but I don't believe anyone has ever dropped a comment regarding y'alls coffee. Good to know.
Spain Italy and Germany have great coffee . In America I hate Olive Garden but there coffee is off the chain ⛓️💥 ☕️ I love the Alhambra Spain with it’s regional differences in people and architecture and topography is maybe my favorite place
Used to be a huge fan of the def tech super cubes.....but after 3 that failed, 1 within 2 weeks.... i changed brands. When they worked, they were awesome, punch you in the chest kinda bass.
I think that you are under no obligation to be as transparent about your income or revenue streams as you two are. The people who criticize you and your channel would never ask those things if they were in front of you. People use the anonymity of the internet to spew nonsense and hate, regardless of whether they truly believe in what they say. People think because they have a UA-cam account they’re somehow in a position to dictate how you earn a living. Unfortunately I’m also in a field that gets criticized relentlessly because of the actions of the few. I appreciate you stressing the importance of mental health. I would imagine the people who criticize you the way they do are struggling with their own issues and somehow find it cathartic to try to bring people down. I’m sure I’m probably wrong, but when I heard you say $#!+ at the 3:12:35 mark, was the first time I’ve heard you use language like that, caught me off guard at first but you followed it up nicely a few minutes later. 😂😂
Hey. First time I can catch you live🎉. Big fan from Mexico. If you don’t mind me asking, What’s your impression of the new KEF Q Meta series, and do you think they could be a nice fit paired with the Sony ES 7000 for a 5.1.4 set up?
Where the hell is the rule book that states how a speaker should sound, or an amplifier or cd player a dac a record, its completely subjective. I would not let anyone tell me how to listen to my music, its my music . The snobbery that goes on in audio is ridiculous.
Gee Andrew... I thought you'd be swayed by Danny's charms just a little bit, but it seems not. But I get it. It's simply not what you do. You are reviewing a product that people will buy, and you use it like 99% of people might use it. To go any further caters to the 1% of nutso's out there (like me) who want to dive into the belly of the beast and find out what makes it tick. We are a sick group in need of therapy, but the fumes of solder keeps us calm.
This is basically the same as car guys that mod their cars vs guys that think that you’re M3 or whatever car is no longer an M3, it’s now a mod/kit car. The end of the day you bought it you can do whatever you want with it. Shouldn’t be judged for tweaking, but you also can’t judge those that don’t want to disturb the original. Two way street, people need to stay out of other peoples business.
You putting on these livestreams during business hours prevents me from joining! And I'm crazy rich baby...in carefully crafted, all-original jokes! Which I'm sure UA-cam would accept for super chats.
UA-cam heavily compresses the files uploaded to its server. The higher the resolution you film in, the better the chance the image quality remains intact after compression.
I completely understand not wanting to be on camera, our world has a lot of wonderful people but its also full of shtheads. At least you're a good looking guy, a cats arse is prettier than I am lol, I would never go on camera. I absolutely DO NOT mean Kristi is unattractive at all, quite the opposite, I am sure she's a beautiful person inside and out. My point is just that I understand wanting to stay annonomous as no matter how beautiful people are, there are always arseholes out there ready and willing to put others down.
Well unfortunately I missed the first hour of this live stream as I was very much interested in Andrew’s response to Danny’s hack video. Ya I’m calling it a hack job. And yes I’m entitled to an opinion and won’t apologize for having one. And Andrew you shouldn’t had apologized for having an opinion either. We’ll agree to disagree on that. 😜 I watch Danny’s videos and have purchased from him. He and I have had some conversations on different sides of things. He has a strong opinion on things and refuses to see any other side. Well, he’s entitled to that. Andrew you didn’t offend anyone with any sense of common sense and apologizing for having an opinion is a sign of weakness. Maybe weakness is too strong a term but I’m old school. I for one respect your opinion and maybe I don’t always agree with it but I sure as heck don’t want you apologizing to me when we disagree. Your response to Danny imho should’ve simply been “you do you bro, the only person who has to like the sound of my system is me”. All the verbiage in explanation was just too much. That’s my rant. I guess thank goodness I missed the first part of this live stream as I probably would’ve been kicked out of the chat!!😂 Andrew you do you without apologies cuz we like how you do it. Ok, now my rant is over!!
Your entire observation of speakers is wrong, speakers are not a musical instrument being played by an artist, they are the picture frame that the art is meant to reproduced exactly how the artist intended, if a speaker has been designed to colour the original recording then it’s flawed, that’s about as simple as it gets.
Yeah there is a lot of compromise that goes into speaker design, although saying a speaker designer intentionally put flaws in a speakers response and sets the drivers out of phase from each other or pushes a driver to cause resonance peaks because that’s what they wanted to do is wrong, it’s in a speaker designer/engineers best interest to create a design that recreates music accurately and with minimal to zero colouring being as neutral as possible so the artists music can be played back exactly how it was intended, if one is fussy with tone then leave it to the different driver materials, speakers are not musical instruments therefore they should track the signal as accurately and cleanly as possible, this is very hard to do with any combination of drivers in and enclosure, typically manufacturers will design a speaker that is mostly cosmetically pleasing and most of there budget is based around the physical appearance, expensive furniture with some off the shelf drivers and a crossover that a computer program automated…
@@njrumenos speakers designers are not doing X wrong its because they want a certain sound. Just cause a speaker measures bad does not mean one cannot like it. In the opposite perspective when various well measuring speakers can sound rather boring and/or lifeless and / or flat soundstage.
@@genkifd a speaker should track a signal as linear as possible full bandwidth with controlled directivity horizontally and vertically, if it’s not then music can not be reproduced as intended by the artist, for example if the artist intended for there to be a 6db peak in the signal at 1500hz and your speaker measures non linear with a 3db hump at 1500hz due to poor design then when you play back that artist that chose a 6db peak at 1500hz then your now 9db when the artist intended 6db, this is an example of a signal paused and zoomed in to just show the importance of an accurate speaker. The frequency response does not change how the speaker sounds, it’s important for the response to be as accurate as possible so it can track the input signal as was intended, if people want a different “sound” then different drivers and materials are used, this includes the quality of Xover components.
@@njrumenos wish was that simple. every speaker / driver design has a compromise. if the speaker's response is linear flat it is not guranteed it means that tone is 100% accurate.
I hope Andrew that you and Kristi gave each other a big hug after this live stream, I for one appreciate it's your job and that I and many many others enjoy all your content for FREE ! I think your lovely people keeping it real thank you for the channel, much love 😊

Thanks ❤
C Butti, we sincerely value you being a consistent presence here. Thank you for continuing to show up and of course, for the generous support.
Andrew and Kristi bring people to the party, Danny is a party pooper! Keep up the great work!
I appreciate that, and I appreciate you watching!
Also I believe full hearted, that Andrew and Kristi are nice people and are sincere about their reviews and I enjoy watching them even if I will probably never buy anything that they have there channel and that's only because I am a diy guy and a minimalist
Good job. You are a class act. Thanks.
Curious. What was the good part? Apologizing for having an opinion?
@@TheMirolab
You “think” it cleaned up the mids?
I'm glad that something as simple as subscribing to you guys, we can support you doing this as a job.
Thank you both for all your work . I love your videos they are always entering and informative. You certainly keep me entertained. It’s amazing how many people have real talent. What a time to be alive . My guess is your ancestors were doing cave paintings and storytelling .Keep it up we need you.
Hello from Sweden ,
It saddens me a bit that you have to spend so much time apologizing and defending yourself.
Exactly! Well said.
Best episode ever. Thanks for sharing!!!
Curious, what made it the best for you?
@@Carl-bd1rfIt was very real, personal and human.

Indeed, very heart felt.
Aloha Andrew and Kristi,
You shared a very thought-provoking live stream. Thank you. I wish I knew more people like you personally.
You sparked one idea on sponsorship that may have been something you already considered. The thought was at the end of a video offering something like, “if you liked this video please hit like and subscribe and please watch the following sponsor if you’d like to support this channel; otherwise thank you and we look forward to sharing our next review with you soon.”
Maybe a sponsor ad at the end with an unrelated consumer product (you use or like), could be a source of revenue that still allows diversification with less pushback and/or stress.
All the best,
Todd
It took me three days to finish this! Stamina!
About to watch the live after the fact! Hope everyone had a great Friday!
Sorry I missed you guys I’ve been in a lot of pain today and just couldn’t make it , but I wanted to let you guys know that how much I appreciate you two. I survived Hurricane Helene
We truly appreciate your kind comment, especially in the middle of your own struggles. We hope you find yourself in a better place soon.
@@KristiWright ❤️
don't sweat the GR-Research thing, I took your point as if you're buying a new set of speakers only to modify them to sound differently, then buy a different set of speakers.
Andrew, glad to hear Kristi has turned you on to college football. As a Notre Dame fan, I can assure you the vibe is so much better.
Stay your course; I don’t buy any a/v tech without checking your reviews. Keep up your very professional style and content. Thanks!!
Didn’t watch live, but I like your channel. You have convinced me never to have a UA-cam channel…way too much work!
Hi Andrew,
Just want to thank you for your honest and relatively jargon-free reviews, which helped me greatly when I was upgrading my hifi system.
I always really appreciate these "how the sausage is made" portions of the videos that you do (the good and the bad), and the honesty and vulnerability are
As for running ads and "selling out"... here's the thing.
Audio files = CRITICAL LISTENERS lol
Love you guys
Just me. Cheers.
4 HOURS!?!?!? Gettin it done. Thanks a bunch, and enjoy the weekend.
Regarding mixology, Greg's channel How To Drink is one of my top five frequented UA-cam channels along with you guys. Highly recommended.
I'm late to the party. The quality of the crossover is what you expect for a speaker that price. All speakers use those parts unless you build your own speakers or spend around $10000 I design my own speakers so I don't know what's in my speaker 😊
Ooooooooooh new KEF Q Meta series!!!! ❤
The sound from the new microphone is good.
Can you put in the chapters for each question, don’t want to sit through the full 3 hrs
Please chapter the long videos, especially the questions.🎉
You do a great job
Thank you.
Song recommendation for your Klipsch Cornwall IV - Ryan Hiraoka: Perfectly Imperfect
I enjoyed this stream 🫶🏽
So in a recent video I heard you comment about while testing with my Kaleidescape and then the cover of this video had a picture of one in it but after listening all 3 hours of it I didn’t hear you comment on it. I would love to hear your opinion of the Strato that you are testing and using.
The review is on the way, but during our testing, we discovered a bug with Dolby Vision. Kaleidescape has (apparently) isolated the problem we found and is addressing it in an update. I’m waiting for a firmware update before finalizing my review.
When I’m in my shop I use 7 channel stereo with my Yamaha receiver.
Are those those the new kef q in the background?! Looking forward to your review! 🎉
Hi Andrew and Kristie. Here Luiz from Sao Paulo, Brazil. Try to solve the mic issue with Neumann amazing mics.
Australia has the best coffee in the world.
I did not know that. Being honest, I hear great things about Australia (I really want to go) but I don't believe anyone has ever dropped a comment regarding y'alls coffee. Good to know.
Ah, actually New Zealand has the best coffee in the world 😁.
Spain Italy and Germany have great coffee . In America I hate Olive Garden but there coffee is off the chain ⛓️💥 ☕️ I love the Alhambra Spain with it’s regional differences in people and architecture and topography is maybe my favorite place

I'm not sure I've met anyone who's owned one! It became so hard to find the coffee pods that we eventually gave up. What are you using now?
Why don't you guys sell merch? You're both designers, I would buy a T-Shirt or a cup to support you. ❤

What’s your impression of the new KEF Q Meta series, and do you think they could be a nice fit paired with the Sony ES 7000 for a 5.1.4 set up?
Your good
Where the hell is the rule book that states how a speaker should sound, or an amplifier or cd player a dac a record, its completely subjective. I would not let anyone tell me how to listen to my music, its my music . The snobbery that goes on in audio is ridiculous.
I'm not watching live but I'm a fan of UA-cam Premium. I HATE ads.
Did you get the Breville Bambino?
Could you review something from Audiovector line. Like the R3 Avantgarde and maybe compare to Martin Logan and B&W 703.
You putting on these livestreams during business hours prevents me from joining! And I'm crazy rich baby...in carefully crafted, all-original jokes! Which I'm sure UA-cam would accept for super chats.

Why film in 6K? I didn't even know that was possible.
UA-cam heavily compresses the files uploaded to its server. The higher the resolution you film in, the better the chance the image quality remains intact after compression.

At least you're a good looking guy, a cats arse is prettier than I am lol, I would never go on camera. I absolutely DO NOT mean Kristi is unattractive at all, quite the opposite, I am sure she's a beautiful person inside and out.
I watch Danny’s videos and have purchased from him.
I guess thank goodness I missed the first part of this live stream as I probably would’ve been kicked out of the chat!!😂
Andrew you do you without apologies cuz we like how you do it.
Ok, now my rant is over!!
I see the new kef q series in the background
Yes, you do!
@@andrewrobinsonreviews I’m trying to stay patient- can’t wait for your video(s) to drop on them!
Your entire observation of speakers is wrong, speakers are not a musical instrument being played by an artist, they are the picture frame that the art is meant to reproduced exactly how the artist intended, if a speaker has been designed to colour the original recording then it’s flawed, that’s about as simple as it gets.
But there is not such thing as a perfect speaker
