They are INSANELY bright! Watch as the new fleet rounds the bend alongside the Gardiner Expressway. The headlights of the cars on the highway don't hold a candle to the LED's of these new trains. The new fleet is also equipped with an additional LED light below the main headlight which may have a similar function to the Xenon lights installed on the F40's and P42's.

Very bright
Oh yeah!
Excellent video!
Thanks! 🙂
Very nice catch! Interesting that the new engines have LED lights
Thanks! LED seems to be the thing now.
nice lights
Thank you! 🙂
Stupid question. How would the engineers see in front of them? Wouldn’t they’re be some reflection of the light hitting them in the eye
@@Leafsfanforever there might be relections off signs here and there but the main thing blinding them would be the same bright lights from an opposing train. Just look away for a short period of time. Similar to driving your car.
Some of the Caltrain stuff we currently have has the ditchlights in LED, but the new Stadler EMU’s indeed have it. However Coaster Cabcar 2306 just came back recently after being out of service for over 6 years now and the LED ditchlight arrangement looks rather odd.
They put LED lights on the coaster cabcars? The old ones on the GO trains still have incandescents.

@@rayuser22 I saw pics of them and seen the 212 next to the mainline. Im not a fan of the LEDs. Are any in service yet?
