That's cool. I hope that you planted them with nothing but native soil and sand mixture. Good luck.

I agree with you, Nam Doc Mai is my favorite as well. I have 4 of those planted at the moment along with 20 other varieties. NDM is like eating happiness without any fibers. I can't believe you paid that much for it though!! I guess you don't live in Florida where they're plentiful in any size.

Hello I have four 1 gallon grafted mango trees and I put bat guano on it the day that I bought but now the leaves are drying out. I live in California zone 9b and I kept these plants inside the house cause its too cold here right now. anyway, I am afraid that these trees are gonna die on me. should I replace the soil and repot them? really would appreciate any help/advice you can give.
    Thank you

I got 6 mango trees. I killed 4 good ones. It’s just where you place them. It needs full sun. I don’t know about pots. But I put some in the ground but barely any sun. And it die. My 4th one in full sun die too. It was a seedling I guess. My medium to large size still alive because it’s big enough to handle our Cali weather. I’m in zone 10b. All in ground.

Hi Young, I very much enjoyed your video.
Would you please be kind enough to show the link to the woman Facebook store that you bought Nam Doc Mai Mango tree from. I am having a difficult time finding her.
    Thank you so much!

I am sorry to say this, but that lady ripped you off.... big time.
I am sure had you looked online properly and searched for those mangoes, you could have found them for way cheaper than the price that you had paid for all of them.

Those tomato cages are a bad idea. As the tree grows, you will have a terrible time removing it.

@@youngsgarden8766 if you need anymore nom doc Mai, wong farms in Mecca CA, has some for $25 for 1 year old seedlings. They also go to Santa Monica farmers market and sell their mangoes. They don’t need to be grafted. PS no doc mai can just be grown from seed. Those trees you bought however are old and probably going to fruit for you right away.

Never understood the appeal of nam doc Mai. Ripe tastes like nothing but sweetness. Green tastes like apples. Why not just eat apples or marshmallows?

Yeah! My faves are pickering, coconut cream, ugly Betty, orange sherbet, lemon meringue and lemon zest. Literally some of the best flavor experiences of my life

Nam Doc Mai does have a really nice texture for a mango. Very smooth. Some cultures prefer mangos to be very sweet and mild.
I have a Lemon Meringue and Pickering. I agree they are both excellent tasting. My favorite mango for taste is probably Dot.
