These late 50s Chrysler products are such proud cars. You can really tell this automaker was at a peak at this time.
For sure. Thanks for watching.
Enthusiastically agree. The whole line. But what is also interesting is how quickly these designs lost favor. Public perception changed more quickly than would a “quieter” design. I think with the oppressive sameness of modern cars, these hopeful, flamboyant automobiles are a long cool drink on a hot day. Give me a ’59 DeSoto or Chrysler hardtop or convertible to restore some sanity. 😇
My 59 4 door Imperial does have the front seats that rotate. But it does not have the armrest in the front which open for storage. Also the backseat ashtrays are not in the doors they are in the middle of the backside of the front seats. My dad and grandfather were both Chrysler Plymouth Imperial dealers. It was not unusual as a model year began or closed to see things show up on a current model that earlier cars didn't get....no doubt it was Supply Chain problems 😂. My car was actually my grandmother's demo that she drove for 5ooo thousand miles and then it was sold. Through a stroke of fate I ended up buying it from the guy who purchase it. That was 1994. I keep it in a heated garage and weather permitting I drive it year around. That's hard to do some years. I had over 60 inches of snow here in Eastern Washington last season.
Wow. Great story Steve. I hope you keep it and not let it get away. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for commenting,,,, needs to be used, & not wasted……etc. Beautiful classic.
Imagine the number of man hours that went into an Imperial of this era.
Lots of little details on this one for a non hand built car. Thanks for watching.
I spent hours saddle soaping the same lovely red leather interior!
Lol. 👍You can't argue with the results.
Absolutely love these cars. They're incredibly designed and unique.
I agree. Thanks for watching.
Back in 1972 I was about 16 years old working part time at a Phillips 66 station. This sophisticated looking Older Gentleman and his wife would come in regularly in a 1960 Chrysler Imperial, white with black leather. This car was already about 12 years old but look like it rolled off the showroom floor. Such a beautiful old car! I'll never forget that.
@@howardbedford6075 Nice how some things we remember about certain cars. Thanks for watching.
I enjoy watching these people ooh and aah as they discover for the first time just how special these cars were, and how many unique features were built into them.
Thanks for watching.
I love these cars and I want one!

What a beautiful car. About a year ago, I came close to purchasing a 1959 Imperial crown with the stainless steel and landau top. That deal did not work out, so I found a really nice 83,000 mi 1964 Imperial LeBaron.
Sounds like a nice car. Thanks for watching.
What a beauty!
Yes it is. Thanks for watching.
The Red is unreal!

Just one of many in Hanks collection. Thanks for watching.
What a treasure ❤❤❤
Thanks for watching.
You should use a small amount of a high-quality leather preservative. Anything else will ultimately dry it out. That AAA sticker on the dash is a real vibe killer.
Thanks for watching Bob.
With the exception that my dad’s was pink and white that is almost exactly the same car I rode around in when I was 11 or 12 years old many decades ago
Nice. Your dad had a very nice car. Thanks for watching.
Thank you…. Hopefully, the Imperial can be Driven, &**used…. Almost a work of ART, & beautiful!! Interestingly , my Family had the massive , also: **1959 DODGE CORONET 9 Pass / rear Facing, push Button, loaded(* Except air Cond), STATION WAGON ( my occasional use in 1962-3, until got 1954/FOrd. 2DR/57;*V8 *4 BBl/ Dual exhausted, Custom….!
Wow sounds very nice. Thanks for watching.
Engine room maintenance must have been a nightmare...imagine setting the timing on this one or (gasp!) putting in new spark plugs....
I hear you but it would be well worth the effort. I love this car. Thanks for watching.
It would have been nice to see the trunk area and rear A/C unit. That might be the reasoning for the 2-tear package tray, to accommodate the unit.
Thanks for watching.
This auto may have the Imperial Crown Southampton option which included the swivel seats and the stainless roof.
Thanks for watching.
the stainless top was the Silvercrest option.
Thanks for watching.
@@Mikesclassicautoworld This car holds a special place in my heart - in 1971 I was in my first year of college and had just dropped off my girlfriend around 2:00 AM . I had the 1959 Crown Southampton 4 door HT that I had purchased for the princely sum of $150.00 it did not have the Silvercrest Landau option as does yours. A drunk in a 1954 Ford Custom ran a stop sign and T boned me on the drivers side front door - the Imperial was so well built that the door imploded at least a foot and a half protecting me from the impact - the cop who came to the scene was amazed that there were no injuries - the engine in the Ford pushed up into the firewall. Chrysler quality and superb engineering saved my life.
@@myronfrobisher Wow. Glad you were ok after that experience.
So, when can I expect delivery?

That color red does not look like original Imperial Radiant Red for 1959?
In a dark garage doesn't do it justice. Thanks for watching.
I have 2 of them and my neighbor is a nut, he has been dinging and scratching them. He is going to get caught, and that will be very expensive to repair 705 were ordered in 59
