Very nice, I may have to give this a shot. The MDF being spun up makes me a little uneasy, but it's not especially heavy so I suppose a failure would probably not be all that damaging so long as you've got a face shield on.
+The Art of Weapons I wonder if it would be a good idea to sandwich the MDF wheel between two smaller wheels of plywood, glue it together and probably put some wooden dowels through it?
please don't encourage this kid's unsafe habits. encourage his creative thinking & problem solving skills but not his improper use of materials & techniques. he's better off using a buffing wheel versus a jerry-rigged mdf death-wheel (which can cause lung cancer or put an eye out)
+The Art of Weapons your handle is the art of weapons & weapons are definitely an art form. what you've shown here is you would rather find a shortcut instead of doing something the proper way. sharpening a knife by hand with a whetstone & proper strop doesn't take much time. I applaud your problem solving skills but you should reevaluate your techniques. you might have made those knives kind of sharp but the edges won't last. hold your head up, keep trying & learn from past mistakes

yeah...when he got to preparing the knife....a few seconds in .....my mind wandered into nap mode (definition of laziest)....woke up a few seconds later where he described the buffing compound application..mind wanders back to nap mode....later wide awake I sat still and went to work deciding where to take my official nap. He gave options for common garage tools. 1. Use a drill mounted in a vice or go buy one at a flea market, you can get a shit one that'll do the job for basically nothing, you could barter something. 2. MDF is common. Hole saws are common. Forgot to mention Rockwell hardness as well.
if you buy a knife of good quality it should be sharp. every knife I bought that was from a reputable knife maker was very sharp. or do you buy those blades from china or India for 4 or 5 bucks?
You guys are saying this isn't lazy. He cut a circle out of mdf, put it on a rotary motor, and applied buffing compound. Now he can sharpen a dozen shit knives in 25 min. It's kinda brilliant.

Everything about this sharpening video is solid. I have been considering buying a similar wheel, but had never thought about making one. Good information, handy tip using MDF. What most people commenting on is ""this not lazy"" well once you have created your MDF wheel then it becomes a lazy way off sharpening. Yes there are tools too sharpen your blades, but these just give you sharp burs which blunt very quickly. If your into wood carving or whittling then you need a razor sharp knife. Most whittlers would have all this gear lying around. There's sharp then there's razor sharp, I expect most people would only need sharp knifes suitable for skinning a rabbit, cutting up meat or to suit there bloated head ego. Keep up the good work, and ignore the trolls.
americans are lazy? where are you from? you must not know any americanns. If you did youd know that us Americans work the longest hours, we have less time off, and our jobs are usually harder. but these are all just statistics so they are prolly just wrong
I am an American. And I was joking about the American stereotype of "Lazy." It's ok. Take a deep breath. I have 2 jobs. I'm not really lazy. Sometimes it's ok to laugh.
+Gary Thompson im relaxed obviously. And good, cuz alot of people believe all amerocans are for some reason even though we work hard as hell. Dont get me wrong there are some lazy ones
It takes a lot of work in the beginning but after finishing the wheel you just need to start up the grinder, put a bit of compound on, and sharpen, then you’re done. You need to make sure the apex doesn’t have chips or roll in it first
He's doesn't mean the outer part of the wheel, he's talking about the center of the wheel. The hole in the center isn't perfectly square to the motor shaft, and it's causing wobble. I watched the whole video, and he only trues-up the outer rim. petro062 has a point; it'll wreck your machine.
Gary Kovach LoL put "face" in almost any joke and it immediately makes it funnier. Ex.: "Man, that's ugly." reply, "Your FACE is ugly." = instant laughter.
I saw this video a while ago, today I tried it out. It's crazy how well this works, and it's so fast and easy! Only cut myself 3 times so far... Thanks for the video, this is going to be very, very useful.
the problem with this technique for sharpening is that eventually you will ruin the tempering of the steel on the edge and make it brittle MDR with Polishing Compound unduly heats the steel up and eventually it will disrupt the Temper you'd do better learning to use a whetstone and some water or oil Stone and oil
+Blake Lawrence Yelp that would work just fine and since you don't have the speed of the buffing wheel the friction will not cause a heat build-up which will not destroy the temper of the edge
+Christopher Petterson Yeah, that's why I like stones. I have an old powered wet stone, nice and slow. Grinders run too fast, they can indeed ruin the temper. For kitchen knives I seldom use anything but a steel. For pocket knives or hunting knives a decent oil stone works great. You don't want a work knife to be razor sharp, it dulls faster, you want more like a sharp narrow wedge. Razor is a very thin edge, and dents easily
good video but you should be a little more safe with using your bench grinder, you could have easily pinch your file, and if your wheel catches an edge on your knife it can flick it back at you, that's why I run my wheel in reverse when sharpening my knives.
From experience, I have found to apply a light coat of candle paraffin wax before fine compound. The paraffin holds the compound to the wheel and the sharpness result is even better. Why is that the best thing to polish with is the residue from whatever you are polishing , or in this case sharpening.
+Torgo A 6" Bench Grinder like the one he uses costs about $40, and is no bigger than two shoeboxes. If you have any kind of home shop, it's an easy purchase to justify. An interesting fact about how-to videos, they don't have to be practical for *everyone*!
+Darin Webb I dunno man, it says "the laziest way to sharpen a knife" but in reality I would have to spend half the day looking around for this bulky tool and spend a fortune on it.. I was just expected some sort of secret technique using standard household items. I live in an apartment so I don't have room for a whole selection of anvils and furnaces and things.
+Darin Webb Well I found a different video that gave me the real solution: sharpen the knife on the bottom of a coffee mug. DONE! Knife sharpened. Took me 5 seconds and I didn't need to spend 3 weeks and $500 constructing a synchrotron in the process.
your system obviously works but most people don't want to go thru all that trouble, having to buy a grinder, attach it to a workbench, make a buffing wheel etc, a simple 2 sided sharpening stone, steel and file is all you need to sharpen most any knife in a few minutes, most knnive just need a few passes thru the fine side of a sharpening stone and then finish it with a steel or anything hard to align the edge
Growing up rural, I used to a similar method with the grinder in the horse barn to keep my pocket knife razor sharp for cutting hay bales, feed bags, you name it. Wtg on a nice video but I'd look into the hazards of heating up mdf like that and you really should slap on a mask and open a window before using the wheel and buffing compounds! Great effort though, keep going!
+Gerard Pinzone Or you could just grab a cheapo cnc machine off ebay for $600. (I do feel sorry for those poor people who do not have a gold mine in their back yard..)
it shocked me that he used the CNC machine. you can literally make a circle cutting jig for most tools ie table saws, routers, scroll saws, all of which would take no time at all
WTF Is wrong with you guys stop being so rude to him. Most of the comments I read are very negative and mean. This young boy has the confidence and time to do this. I bet you won't be able to do it al good as him
Fuck off, we are allowed to say what we want. Or is Free Speech not allowed anymore? If he didn't want negative comments, he would have turned comments off.
***** +Leonid Bortsov LOL seriously you are completely wrong and this has been ruled on before and is covered under common law. state and federal laws. isn't it easier (and safer) to buy a re-profiling kit for $25 and spend 15 mins putting a polished fixed angle edge on the blade.....may be cheaper on ebay
I worked in a slaughter facility and i also carve wood. Sharpening a knife is actually something not many people can do well and this method is actually a good one. Good job kit. Wanna give people proof shave hair off your arm on camera. That was our test
+mrphotomanTIM On the first knife, yes, but the reality is, it wasn't needed. It just helps make the knife more pleasing to the eye. To get everything setup, it also seems to take a lot, at first, but once its done, it literally IS a lazy way to do it.
Now, if you want something that's pretty easy to use, and gives your knife a more professional look, check out the "Knife & Tool Sharpener." - plenty of videos on youtube demoing the product.
of course it will cut paper when you start the cut by your fingers...that doesn't take much at all. The paper test, requires you hold a paper loosely, and cut where the paper hangs free and won't add much resistance from holding it. Better yet, DROP the paper, and cut it mid air (I can do that with mine, every one of them). What you are doing here is RIPPING the paper, not cutting it.
Ethan Marsingill It's up to you. If you want to know how to properly do something that you are trying to show everyone how to do it the wrong way, you may want to consider it.
rodrigjose I have never been in a shop that was willing to dull their knives on paper to test their sharpness. Every professional I have ever seen sharpen their knife, sharpens it, then uses it; they don't NEED to "test" it. when it needs sharpened again, they sharpen it again. Doesn't quite pass the sniff test, that claim of yours.
+vTCv It's MDF not stone. Even if it did explode, wood shrapnel is far less deadly than stone shrapnel. You might get a bruise and some splinters. You can't, however, put a stone wheel designed for a bench grinder onto a buffer, as the RPM's are too high and it's not as stable.
MDF won't explode like a hunk of a wood will. It'll explode like a stone wheel with less injuring power. I'm not so worried about the effect of getting hit by shrapnel so much as getting the dust in my eyes and sinuses and inhaling the formaldehyde resins used in the manufacturing of MDF now that I've virtually disintegrated the wheel at high RPM.
In the last part if the video, where you use the clamp and the piece of wood as a lathe to make the wheel perfectly circular, could you do something like that to help angle the knife correctly. This is my first time, and I want to be sure I do it properly
Thank you for the video works well I took it a little further by using buffing compound on the face of the MDF make the perfect place to sharpen chisels to a mirror finish also works great for lathe tools, wood working tools and secateurs.
+steven gomez But you don't need a CNC. This can easily be done without one. A hand saw and a bench grinder is all that you need. Less than 100 dollars
I used to use an orbital sander. It's quick and easy. After you've got your knives sharp you can keep them that way with some 600 grit wet/dry sandpaper. Plug the sander in an outlet next to the sink to catch any loose grit.
+Furious Doge idiots will ever be idiots if they can't even listen... he said he USUALLY would rub it over the leather for around 30min, but INSTEAD he uses the mentioned mdf buffing weel...
Thanks for sharing, I think it is a cool and economic way of putting an edge on a knife.I surely will try it myself. Anyone that handles knives on a regular basis knows that if you let your knife slip away until you can use it as a pry bar, they don't know what they are doing. Which includes most of the comments that are made . The paper cutting test is valid test as well as shaving the hair off your arm. The duration of the sharpness of your knife is determined by the quality of steel and tasks that are performed with it.If you can skin out a moose without sharpening your knife, you have a good knife.
I hope you have lots of extra cash to buy more knives after you change the temper of the metal at the blades edge using such a high speed heat generating method to sharpen your blade...
+Josh Byrd There is no colour change on the blade which would indicate they did not get hot enough to effect the temper of the steel... maybe I'm no expert.
+RViscara Not that I am disagreeing that this method might damage the blades in the long run, to me, most of these knives do not look particularly valuable. Mostly things he probably picked up at garage sales or yard sales, and would be low cost tools, most likely. I wouldn't do this to a Zero Tolerance knife, but to a half crap swiss army knife I got for $5? Probably.
True.. But the viewer does not know that long version of details and information.. Its just monkey see monkey do.... Hell if tell people 2 times and write it in the title don't do this for expensive knives only do it quickly for cheap knives guess what the masses will still do it.
We seem to have different definitions of the term "lazy". You just showed me yours. Mine? How about I send my knives to you for sharpening? That's MY definition of lazy....
I wish you were local. Ide pay for someone like you to sharpen my kitchen knives. gypsies used to call when I was younger and all the housewives used to line up to get theirs sharpened. I miss those days.
Very nice, I may have to give this a shot. The MDF being spun up makes me a little uneasy, but it's not especially heavy so I suppose a failure would probably not be all that damaging so long as you've got a face shield on.
The phrase "face shield" makes me want to ask you guys to build one and make a tutorial on it
+NightHawkInLight Thanks, I was a little uneasy at first too since MDF is not very strong at all. I think it would be more dangerous at a higher RPM.
+The Art of Weapons
I wonder if it would be a good idea to sandwich the MDF wheel between two smaller wheels of plywood, glue it together and probably put some wooden dowels through it?

This is actually quite the opposite of lazy....
+BANNDIT Haha, you are not the only one to think that! Seems like a lot of work for a 'lazy' person.
+BANNDIT Not so lazy, as it is quick, once you have the MDF on the bench grinder.

Can I suggest you attempt to forge a karambit
I don't think lazy means what you think it means. Have you met any Americans?
americans are lazy? where are you from? you must not know any americanns.
I'm so lazy, I married a pregnant girl.
LMAO
Oh my god, if his is what he considers lazy what does he consider extensive?
@Katia Daher the vid is still pretty awesome tho
It takes a lot of work in the beginning but after finishing the wheel you just need to start up the grinder, put a bit of compound on, and sharpen, then you’re done. You need to make sure the apex doesn’t have chips or roll in it first
Well done young sir!!
That out of balance will ruin your motor and it might explode too. The hole in the middle is out of square.
He cleaned it up more after the first two knives. If you watch when he does the rest of the knives it is almost perfectly balanced at that point.
He's doesn't mean the outer part of the wheel, he's talking about the center of the wheel. The hole in the center isn't perfectly square to the motor shaft, and it's causing wobble. I watched the whole video, and he only trues-up the outer rim. petro062 has a point; it'll wreck your machine.
...and your FACE.
Gary Kovach LoL put "face" in almost any joke and it immediately makes it funnier. Ex.: "Man, that's ugly." reply, "Your FACE is ugly." = instant laughter.
toolstore round the corner has a sharpening/polishing service. isn't that the easy way?
Do laziest way to fine tune a wand next Harry!
I saw this video a while ago, today I tried it out. It's crazy how well this works, and it's so fast and easy! Only cut myself 3 times so far... Thanks for the video, this is going to be very, very useful.
for everyone complaining about how "not lazy" this method looks: you guys should try to sharpen a knife using a leather strip or a whetstone.
the problem with this technique for sharpening is that eventually you will ruin the tempering of the steel on the edge and make it brittle MDR with Polishing Compound unduly heats the steel up and eventually it will disrupt the Temper you'd do better learning to use a whetstone and some water or oil Stone and oil
+Christopher Petterson a big leather strap with jewlers polish straight off the stone works a treat for me
+Blake Lawrence Yelp that would work just fine and since you don't have the speed of the buffing wheel the friction will not cause a heat build-up which will not destroy the temper of the edge
Christopher Petterson i know
+Christopher Petterson Yeah, that's why I like stones. Razor is a very thin edge, and dents easily
i use ceramic rods
u got skills bro, keep up the great work.
Uses 500 pound machine and calls it lazy mans way
you can use handsaw and drill :-) like I did ;-)
+how do you get a Dimon sharing block
whats this ???
sevan grigoryan no you can get like 50 pounds of eBay but that just some cheap one
.
I'm NOT going to watch this video. I'm to lazy. If your method takes 9 minutes to sharpen a knife, this video is NOT for lazy people.
It didn't take him 9 minutes to sharpen 1 knife
jrcap sparklez
Obviously, recognizing humor isn't one of your strong points.
The 9 minutes was also humor, as it took much longer.
jrcap is way too lazy to recognize humor
+Grandpa the Grey the video explains how to make it the stuff to sharpen it, the sharpening act takes 2 minutes
That was great thanks . Never thought of that one before . good video
good video but you should be a little more safe with using your bench grinder, you could have easily pinch your file, and if your wheel catches an edge on your knife it can flick it back at you, that's why I run my wheel in reverse when sharpening my knives.
correction on my part you did rotate it.
hi mate that's a brill idea I have been using a grindstone and oilstone for years but I'm going to try your idea thanks. and good luck to you.
dyllon sather
If you turn the grinder around to face the other way, then it is running in reverse in relation to you.
Nice video hope your wearing a mask MDF dust is not good
+Robert Clive you're right, it's being considered the new asbestos! better safe than sorry ay!
From experience, I have found to apply a light coat of candle paraffin wax before fine compound. The paraffin holds the compound to the wheel and the sharpness result is even better. Why is that the best thing to polish with is the residue from whatever you are polishing , or in this case sharpening.
So what would be the difficult way?
Erm.. I don't see how this is practical for anyone unless they happen to have that giant tool somewhere in the house.
+Torgo Its for people with garages or workshops, bench grinders are ridiculously useful!
+Torgo A 6" Bench Grinder like the one he uses costs about $40, and is no bigger than two shoeboxes. If you have any kind of home shop, it's an easy purchase to justify. An interesting fact about how-to videos, they don't have to be practical for *everyone*!
+Darin Webb
I dunno man, it says "the laziest way to sharpen a knife" but in reality I would have to spend half the day looking around for this bulky tool and spend a fortune on it.. I was just expected some sort of secret technique using standard household items. I live in an apartment so I don't have room for a whole selection of anvils and furnaces and things.
+Torgo I work in IT, you wouldn't believe the amount of effort I will go to, just so I can be lazy.
+Darin Webb
Well I found a different video that gave me the real solution: sharpen the knife on the bottom of a coffee mug. DONE! Knife sharpened. Took me 5 seconds and I didn't need to spend 3 weeks and $500 constructing a synchrotron in the process.
Quite a good demonstration, i use an electric grindstone to sharpen my mower blade in the same way, does an excellent job.
Why am I watching this ? I don't own any knifes.
^^
+Airnicco Surely you own at least a razor? =P
+Airnicco how do you make food
Knowledge is power!
Or you're just bored like the rest of us.
Not even kitchen knives?
your system obviously works but most people don't want to go thru all that trouble, having to buy a grinder, attach it to a workbench, make a buffing wheel etc, a simple 2 sided sharpening stone, steel and file is all you need to sharpen most any knife in a few minutes, most knnive just need a few passes thru the fine side of a sharpening stone and then finish it with a steel or anything hard to align the edge
Great effort though, keep going!
its only easy if you have a fucking buffer wheel
curtis sutton you can get them super cheap usually online or harbor freight if you're gonna use it for this
"THE KNIFE INDUSTRY HATES HIM! FIND OUT HOW THIS OLD BLUNT KNIFE TURNED INTO A PAPER DESTROYING WOOD CUTING KILLING MACHINE!"
Pretty Cool. I would have never guessed to use MDF. Great Job my Friend. Thanks
yeah super lazy just take out your CNC machine and draw up a quick plan for a buffing wheel made out of MDF
+cbn620 Yeah. This was the loosest definition of "laziest" ever. You can buy a knife sharpener on Amazon for under $10. THAT'S lazy.
+Gerard Pinzone yea. lol
+Gerard Pinzone Or you could just grab a cheapo cnc machine off ebay for $600. (I do feel sorry for those poor people who do not have a gold mine in their back yard..)
+cbn620 i literally just use a brick and it sharpens great
it shocked me that he used the CNC machine. you can literally make a circle cutting jig for most tools ie table saws, routers, scroll saws, all of which would take no time at all
WTF Is wrong with you guys stop being so rude to him.
Tommy im with you, people need to stop being so damn negative, id hate to have to be around some of these folks on a daily basis!
I don't think 'lazy' means the same thing from here to there...hmmm?!?!
I'm way lazier than that which is why my knifes are blunt.
Lol!
Id hate to see his non-lazy way!
haha
Look at my channel, there is best way to make knife sharper...
F that, I'll just buy a new knife.
this guy's voice is sooo soothing I love it
i was called dull..i hope this helps me.
Does your dad know you're using his tools?
yeah, that was my first thought too...
I don't think he cares because the money that this kid makes is enough to pay for much more of them X"D
+SlyRubberDuck I am 12 own a Lathe, Band saw, Combination Sander and a drill press.
***** It is simply not true minors can not own things.
***** +Leonid Bortsov LOL seriously you are completely wrong and this has been ruled on before and is covered under common law. state and federal laws.

Really enjoy ur vid man, cud u point me in the right direction to get proper buffing compound thx n please keep up the good work cheers
I'm sure the time to acquire all of that machinery, make the buffet wheel and actually sharpen it is longer then to get a nice whetstone
+Momodou Senghore ... buffet wheel. Now I'm hungry.
isn't it easier (and safer) to buy a re-profiling kit for $25 and spend 15 mins putting a polished fixed angle edge on the blade.....may be cheaper on ebay
I worked in a slaughter facility and i also carve wood. Sharpening a knife is actually something not many people can do well and this method is actually a good one. Good job kit. Wanna give people proof shave hair off your arm on camera. That was our test
But can it Karambit?
+Gʀᴀʏ Fᴏx I have one too, and I was wondering the same thing. ツ
+ColossalCactus ツ If you made one with a curved cross-section instead of flat it could well.
Yeah, cuz I have a mdf buff wheel on hand.
Great video. Nice to hear an English accent too :)
Nice Watch! I see UA-cam money is treating you well... :P
How he's had everything there from the start apart from that electronic cutting system
It's a joke...
And it should! He's feeding a passion. It probably doesn't give him much money, but I imagine what he does get goes back into materials.
+davidnel777 she*
+onciblu bolt ya rocket
I think you do not understand what the word lazy means. That is an awful lot of shit to do just to sharpen a knife.
+mrphotomanTIM On the first knife, yes, but the reality is, it wasn't needed. It just helps make the knife more pleasing to the eye.
To get everything setup, it also seems to take a lot, at first, but once its done, it literally IS a lazy way to do it.
+Eldiin I was just kidding. It is a good video and I seen how you were cleaning up the knife. It is always fun to work with knives.
Now, if you want something that's pretty easy to use, and gives your knife a more professional look, check out the "Knife & Tool Sharpener." - plenty of videos on youtube demoing the product.
i mostly use a spyderco sharpmaker. it gets the knife shaving sharp in about 20 seconds unless the edge is bad then it takes a few minutes.
you sound like your 12 and you may well be but your knowledge on knives and sharpening impresses me greatly
you have a different approach to lazy.
I have a wheel just like that, do not do what he is doing, the wheel is spinning at him not away if the knife catches it will be thrown at him.👎🏼
SAGGIN WAGGIN - That is the way bench grinders turn and for good reason......
You've got it the wrong way round mate, it is spinning in a safe direction.
i get my knifes really sharp now. thank you very much!
THIS VIDEO IS OLD NOW, I HAVE MADE AN UPDATE VIDEO THAT IS MUCH BETTER AND EXPLAINS THE METHOD IN MORE DETAIL: ua-cam.com/video/TdxqplP4LBI/v-deo.html
TAOW
TAOW o
TAOW
What is MDF?
TAOW will
Good video. Thanks for siting your sources. Thanks for the ideas. Nice knife collection.👍🏻
I'm way lazier, can you do mine for me?
I'm way too lazy to even ask that, lol
of course it will cut paper when you start the cut by your fingers...that doesn't take much at all. The paper test, requires you hold a paper loosely, and cut where the paper hangs free and won't add much resistance from holding it. Better yet, DROP the paper, and cut it mid air (I can do that with mine, every one of them). What you are doing here is RIPPING the paper, not cutting it.
congrats dude
Gerff do you expect me to read that?
Ethan Marsingill
It's up to you. If you want to know how to properly do something that you are trying to show everyone how to do it the wrong way, you may want to consider it.
sorry, those knives are cutting the papers, as a former USDA meat Inspector, we had to sharpen our knifes every day and the paper test was done daily!
rodrigjose
I have never been in a shop that was willing to dull their knives on paper to test their sharpness. Every professional I have ever seen sharpen their knife, sharpens it, then uses it; they don't NEED to "test" it. when it needs sharpened again, they sharpen it again. Doesn't quite pass the sniff test, that claim of yours.
Very nice!
I'm from Denmark, and I've never heard of buffering compound before, please explain to me what this is?
Yikes, home-made wheel on a bench grinder.
+willgtl Is there something wrong with that?
+AdamHH11 yes, because you don't know if that wheel can handle the rpm and it could explode.
***** "some splinters"
MDF won't explode like a hunk of a wood will. It'll explode like a stone wheel with less injuring power.
I'm not so worried about the effect of getting hit by shrapnel so much as getting the dust in my eyes and sinuses and inhaling the formaldehyde resins used in the manufacturing of MDF now that I've virtually disintegrated the wheel at high RPM.
Something about this video scares the crap out of me.
yes.. strange voice and weird piano
Which is totally not edited
Whats not edited?
i guess he will be a serial killer sry for my enlish kek
In the last part if the video, where you use the clamp and the piece of wood as a lathe to make the wheel perfectly circular, could you do something like that to help angle the knife correctly. This is my first time, and I want to be sure I do it properly
get a lathe...
+우희도 making one as I read your comment
+The Art of Weapons Cool man!...will be waiting for a tutorial on it (I hope)!!!
+The Art of Weapons What watch are you wearing? I have been looking for a good watch to buy and yours looks cool!
+우희도 longest way to sharp the knife.
Looks like an LG Watch R
Wow. Does every video have to have a thousand trolls?
Thank you for the video works well I took it a little further by using buffing compound on the face of the MDF make the perfect place to sharpen chisels to a mirror finish also works great for lathe tools, wood working tools and secateurs.
only cost you a lazy few thousand dollars.
Hundred*
+ClamaKaze X Carve CNC machine $2,400 market price maybe if your lucky 1500 used so yea. Definitely not hundreds
+steven gomez But you don't need a CNC. This can easily be done without one. A hand saw and a bench grinder is all that you need. Less than 100 dollars
How so? you can get a grinder for about $100, and MDF is cheap as shit, you don't need to cut it with a CNC.
+Ryan Winklevoss My Father gave me a small loan of a million dollars
how is this lazy in any way
I used to use an orbital sander. It's quick and easy. After you've got your knives sharp you can keep them that way with some 600 grit wet/dry sandpaper. Plug the sander in an outlet next to the sink to catch any loose grit.
lets do a quick fast easy way to sharpen your knives hope you have a shit load of tools and all kinds of shit .... lets get started
lmao!
Don't forget the $10,000 CNC...
+rogue i mean come on cutting a circle by yourself isn't hard. Not like you need the CNC.
if you dont even own a basic grinder then your pretty useless as a man
-
BE SURE TO USE A DUSTMASK WHEN UTILIZING THIS METHOD !!!! EXTREMELY FINE HAZARDOUS AIRBORNE PARTICLES!!!
Another great video. Could you post a link for the rough knife sharpener you use instead of a whet stone?
looked like helluva lot of work to me. even watching just the video was tiresome.
+Ye Olde Salt Once it is set up it is easy.
+knives&stuff I think everyone knows this
He said in 2 minutes...
My ass
two minutes... then do this for 30 minutes
"Its gonna take only 2 minutes.. Now rub it with leather for 30 minutes." :|
+RViscara Thank you! I was cringing while watching this video.
Hell if tell people 2 times and write it in the title don't do this for expensive knives only do it quickly for cheap knives guess what the masses will still do it.
why would that generate any more heat than a belt grinder?
We seem to have different definitions of the term "lazy". You just showed me yours. Mine? How about I send my knives to you for sharpening? That's MY definition of lazy....
I wish you were local. Ide pay for someone like you to sharpen my kitchen knives. gypsies used to call when I was younger and all the housewives used to line up to get theirs sharpened. I miss those days.
Unintentional comedy... xD
My ass laziest way to sharpen a knife
