I usually don't like a sandwich unless it is filled with everything. I had no idea that Sandwich can get so creative - a salad sandwich. You know it is good when there are so many people waiting for it. Now I want to try Nico's. I'm all about an Ice Cream Sandwich - Baby Rosalie would like that for sure.
Initially we were a bit skeptical about sandwich, but recently sandwich game is going stronger in Melbourne. Of course we want to see if this is just a gimmick or the trend we can follow haha. Glad they exceeded expectations!

That toast looks outstanding. We tried one in NY but it didn't look this spectacular. Yes to truffle mayo too. You certainly know a place is good by the line. Both sandwiches look good but the chicken is HUGE and calling our names.

Glad you noticed that too, it’s in a suburb called Fitzroy. Whenever we visit Fitzroy, it’s always a happy and cool vibe. There is something about this suburb that makes us wanting to keep coming back!

Its always a perfect time to try an ice cream sandwich... one of the biggest parts we miss about the summer! Can't wait for the warm weather to really return here to the northern hemisphere! Nico's looked legit, but the Rocky at Smith and Deli would be Steve's choice!

Hmmmm 🤔 I think the OG from Nikos and chicken from Hectors dehli looked the most delicious. The Buffalo 🐃 mozzarella in a simple salad setting between two breads sounds amazing. The size of that chicken was insane 😳
We are still dreaming of eating the chicken sanga from Hector's Deli. We tried to replicate it at home, but it's not the same hahaha.

Please try a Chiko fish cake burger and tell us what you think. Go to any fish and chip shop that makes burgers and sells Chiko fish cakes and ask them to make a burger using a Chiko fish cake instead of a beef patty. I like grilled onion, cheese, lettuce, tomato and BBQ sauce on my Chiko fish cake burger. This is a super tasty burger that makes a nice change from beef burgers.

I’m not convinced that these sandwiches are worth it. When you look at the price of say
Nico’s Original $12 and the
Cubano Sandwich $15.
Rocky $15
Why would you pay these prices when you can get an awesome Vietnamese banh mi for $6-$7? The Vietnamese banh mi is my benchmark when we're talking sandwiches, and its a hard standard to beat unless you're doing something really amazing with sandwich to justify doubling the price
We were not convinced initially either, until we tried it ourselves 😬
They are definitely worth a try! These places are using premium ingredients such as free range and organic ingredients. Understand that the price might seem to be a steep for just a sandwich, but if you really dig into each ingredients and the effort to make them, then you will understand why they set with such prices 😊
