    Streaky talked about them a few months ago saying really good things about them, then I got the chance to listen to them in a friend's studio... What a sound guys, even compared to his genelecs and his focals thede are way beyond them in my opinion.

    Wow! These are my dream speakers! Really nice, Jon ;)
    Off topic: have you considered to upgrade your current iPhone XR? I’ve bought the new iPhone 11 with max storage a month ago and it’s a huge step up. Especially for vlogging, the iPhone 11 records video’s on the front camera in 4K UHD with extended HDR and 60 frames per second! Also, the night mode on the back is pure magic.

      Hey, its kii three all the way here. The amphions sound like NS10 in comparison (which you might want or need!), but in terms of phase accuracy, linearity and room correction the kii three are on a whole different level (I own a pair since 4 years now)

    was there ever a follow up on this video, as mentioned towards the end (e.g. how they are for working on music, as opposed to glorified hifi) -- I'd really love to know if you kept these, and if not, why not. Thanks!

    Kii’s are superb. But checkout the Dutch & Dutch 8c. I bought the 8c after comparing the two. Can’t go wrong with either. They’re both the future of speakers I think. Well worth the money no doubt.

    • @DJURBANBG
      @DJURBANBG 3 роки тому

      but maybe KII are more accurate ,cause they go down to 50hz carioid , 8C only to 100hz

      @Djnitrane 3 роки тому +1

      @@DJURBANBG I'm not sure about the tech specs that you mentioned. But the main difference is that the 8C has more punch and tighter lows. Friends of mine that have Kii's. After listening to my 8C's have sold thier Kii's. If you've listened to both, then let me know your thoughts. And it saves you money. No need to get the BXT's to add to the Kii's.

      @@Djnitrane thanks for the reply !do you think they reduce the need of heavy bass trapping , cause i do have bass traps and am also considering the AVAA (but pretty expensive ) ..?

    • @Djnitrane
      @Djnitrane 3 роки тому +1

      @@DJURBANBG With the 8C's you don't need the Avaa's. My friend demoed them in his room. He had the Kii's with the BXTs. And was using 4 Avaa's. The 8C's use the back wall to bounce the bass off of. So he discovered that when you turn off the Avaa's. The low end would work perfectly. He's let go of the Kii's and BXT and went for a pair of the 8C studio. And he's very happy.

    Would you suggest me beyerdynamic dt 770 80 ohm or 990 for mixing heavy bass electronic music? I've read that the Soundstage of the 990 is better than the 770 but the 990 have really hear fatiguing high frequencies but they go down less deep than the 770 so I was thinking about getting the 770 that still have a relatively good Soundstage less hear fatiguing high frequencies than the 990 and better bass response but before buying them I would like hearing your opinion if you have tried them both(for now I got to stick with mixing in headphones because I have no acoustic treatment crappy speakers and a shitty L shaped bedroom)
    Thank you
    Oh and New speakers are FIRE 🔥

    • @fillebaba
      @fillebaba 4 роки тому +3

      The most important thing is knowing your headphones in and out. I have both of these. I use 770 for producing and 990 for mixing (but for the most part on speakers). If you have the money you can buy "sonarworks headphone edition" if you really want the best result.

    • @valentin_boes
      @valentin_boes 4 роки тому +1

      I've got the 770 80 Ohm and know the 990s pretty well. I'd say for EDM the 770 do their job - the 990s have got a heavy boost in the top frequencies which hurts after some time listening to harsh saw based lead sounds. Also closed headphones often let you hear more of the low frequencies which is, as I think, better for making heavy bass music. :)

    I'd suggest you too look at PMC speakers. I heard them a couple of times in Frankfurt and they are amazing. They are also quite well known for their body and good sounding bass which makes it even more interesting for you as a dance music producer. They are still expensive but much less for the size compared to these (which are also very good of course). They have different sizes going from 5inch all the way too dual 15inch main monitors ! Just search for PMC speakers or go to pmc-speakers.com/

    • @gabele2386

      They are woofers, though the ones I'm the back generate the anti-pattern of the sound waves. It works a bit like a noise cancelling system in your phones. That's the usp of those speakers and what makes them so expensive. You mainly just hear the direct sound, nothing else, no reflection etc

    Have to agree with other commenters that cardioid DSP monitors seem to be the future. Once you hear either the Kii Threes or Dutch & Dutch 8C it's hard to go back to anything else. The cardioid dispersion improves decay times and lessen room modes/interaction which in turn really improve clarity and imaging.
    8C if you want a warmer more musical sound and a lower price point....Kii if you want ultimate transparency and accuracy (and future upgrade path with BXT). Keep in mind the Kiis can also be tuned to sound very similar to the 8C (the 8C can't be tuned to sound like the Kiis though). So that ability helps make up the added cost imo....

    • @DJURBANBG
      @DJURBANBG 3 роки тому

      but maybe KII are more accurate in non-perfct envirounment ,cause they go down to 50hz carioid , 8C only to 100hz

    • @dougleydorite
      @dougleydorite 2 роки тому

      @@DJURBANBG Is that so? this new tech is blowing my mind. I have a hard time believing that a speaker can eliminate modes though... The rear firing can help with boundary effects but once these low frequecies get out, they are still traveling. a 40 hz sound wave needs like 30 feet to travel so if your room is small, it'll be bouncing off the side walls and back wall back and forth forever

  • @RobC415

    I like the Dutch & Dutch 8c (similar cardioid design) slightly better than the Kii 3s. I find that they are more musical in general. And they are less expensive!

    • @dougleydorite
      @dougleydorite 2 роки тому

      hardly anyone makes that kind of money with music.. are you kidding me! For me, it's about future proof. If I can get 10 years of use out of them, lets say you use them every other day for 2 hours, you're looking at a $5 dollar an hour cost. - in ten years, 5 dollars an hour will be nothing. My biggest thing with tech driven speakers is, what kind of upgrade will they have in 3 years which render these less useful? This is why I try to put my money towards gear that can't be dated by tech. hard to do..

      You obviously have no idea what KII audio speakers are and why they are so pricey. The woofers in the back and at the side generate a counter-waveform, just like in noise cancelling. The listener only gets to hear the direct sound from the front, no reflections. This makes KII speakers suitable for any room, no matter the treatment. It's their USP.
