I am is so impressed with this pattern and your wonderful tutorial. Your step-by-step directions were so clear. Thank you also for showing the work as you went along. I can’t say it enough thank you, thank you, thank you for a beautiful pattern and a great video.
Carmen, I would like to thank you very much as I was a bit scared of crochet, even though I love it so much, until I started this tutorial!! This seemed far far above me until I watched and listened and followed your every instruction blindly and I ACTUALLY STARTED LEARNING HOW THE ROWS WERE CONSTRUCTED SIMPLY BY YOUR DESCRIPTIVE WAY OF TEACHING!! You are an absolute GENIUS!! And such a lovely person! You kept me calm and I did not make one mistake just by following YOU!! And I love that I don’t get lost just following you last four rows all the way along! This looks so difficult, and would be with anyone else teaching! But you make it easy, UNDERSTANDABLE and ENJOYABLE! I started off with the intention of just following your every instruction knowing I would never understand the pattern and would get lost without you, BUT, as I say, your explanations and descriptions TAUGHT ME how to check my own work and KNOW what row I was on and what to do next! Wow!!! I have tried for years to find tutorials like yours that teach as you go (without the student even realising!) I’m ex-army and also trained many GP’s in software and had to be patient and very descriptive and teach without them realising or they would just lose interest and wouldn’t learn! And I thought I was good at it until I found you! You are an INSPIRATION Carmen and I hope you will continue making new video tutorials as people like me NEED YOU!! Thank you so very much Carmen, truly!
Carmen I have just read your blog and you’ve truly inspired me even more. I NEED TO ADD something here after reading your blog! I am ex-army, as stated, I have many clinical depression blackouts and anxiety and I realised when I tried this tutorial that you really did work wonders with your calming effect and making the pattern so easy to follow! I just had to add that you do work wonders with mental health and I am a reflection of this and I’m so impressed with what you do Carmen! I just wish there was a world full of people like you! PLEASE start posting more tutorials if you are well and not too busy. As I stated Carmen, without knowing what you actually do professionally, people like me need people like you! Unfortunately, there are millions of me but only one of you 😔.
I am so pleased you enjoyed the pattern. And I agree, a repetitive crochet pattern is so good for our mental health! Thank you so much for your lovely comment. I hope to get back to making videos but in the meantime you can find my written patterns on Anniedesigncrochet.com. Wishing you well x
I was really intimidated by this shawl when I simply looked at it...but you made the tutorial so easy to follow and I'm actually doing it! Thank you so much❤❤❤❤
I love this! I’ve seen it called a “dragon wing” in other references but “tendril” sounds so much more feminine and pretty. This pattern is lovely. I make it with size 10 bedspread thread or “shawl in a ball” by Lion Brand. So so so pretty and the way it hangs is very flattering.
Beautiful shawl and really easy to follow your video, even though I'm left handed (and work the opposite way!) and am converting to English version as I go along! Thank you so much x
Another incredible tutorial and pattern. Thank you so much Carmen.😘 I have already started the halo shawl. Order some special hand dyed yarn for the peach vintage shawl. So excited to see what you post next .God bless you dear 💞
Lovely pattern, thank you so much, I am making it for a friend with some very lovely fine merino hand dyed yarn, it's going to be lovely and I will certainly look out for more of your designs
I love this design. Made one for my sister in July in a lavender merino/angora blend. And you are a tulip girl too, which means you can be trusted. LOL
@@anniedesigncrochet yes, she did. And apparently it goes with a dress she got not long ago. And now I'm thinking that I might use the remainder of my summer nights yarn (a sparkly variegated fingering) to make another for myself. We shall see. I love jagged edge/short row scarves/shawls.
Lovely pattern to me a couple trips before I realized what I did wrong but once I re watched the video I got it. It is a very easy pattern once you get the hang of it. Thwack you for sharing, I can't wait until mine is finished! ❤😊
This is an amazing, beautiful shawl! Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I'm a new subscriber! I hope you will do well with your channel and I look forward to more tutorials!
I made this, never having crocheted with fingering yarn and it turned out beautifully. I used a silk and linen blend yarn. It's inspired me to make more shawls with this yarn
Made one. Lots of fun. Trying out ways to introduce a bit of rigidity into the tendrils and aiming for cosplay look. For me the chart was a big help. Thanks.
Thank you so much for the pattern and the video... I don't read patterns well cause I'm still learning. I'm going to be making a minimum of 12 pieces of this pattern in a variety of colours! It's for Christmas 2021!!! Thank you once again for your guidance!
Absolutely beautiful shawl, a delightful pattern I am already on the 24 th row... I don’t want to stop 🙄☺️ Thank you very much for a peaceful and easy tutorial. I am making the shawl with TY-Dy 100% cotton yarn 🧶 due to our hot weather in Miami, Florida 🏖🦋
so lovely shawl , is summertime here in Patagonia, but last week was snowing, so start this shawl just in case that our winter gets early this year. hugs and thanks for the explanation
Absolutely gorgeous!! I would love to make this.. And the stitches are not hard, but as a beginner the tutorial went just a bit too fast.. Unfortunately, as a hands on learner written patterns are always a challenge.. Maybe one day, you could give us this tutorial at a bit slower pace? I would be so grateful.. 🙏✨ Hope to make this shall one day.. It really is stunning! 😊
Hi Carmen! Thank you for your reply.. This shawl is definitely on my list to master.. 💗 Question: Since blocking and pining for drying is really important to hold the beautiful shape when dry- I'm assuming that those are the care instructions you would pass on to someone if you gifted this shawl to them, no? (The answer's most likely, yes, but just wanted to know what care details to give to someone of I make this shawl for them).. Thank you, Carmen, for sharing these beautiful patterns with us! ✨✨✨

I have really enjoyed working this pattern. Please can we have a tutorial for the picot edging to the scarf, thank you. Im finding the written picot edging pattern hard to follow. Thank you
Hi again Carmen I’m finishing up but I’m confused by your instructions in the blog for the picot border as it says end on row 12 which would be the shell row which is done. However the instructions for the picot then say to make sc picot sc into each 2 ch space which I understand but not if you need to do any thing between the st on the shells like sc into each of the previous st on the shell or into the spaces between which is what I would imagine is more usual and the instructions are just to say where to place the picot st. Unless you just rejoin the yarn to easy happen but that does seem likely. Thanks for any tips on this edging. Is it really as simple as just do sc picot sc into each one?
I followed your pattern and I myself find is very nice. But I am doing it for my friend . I bought to let her see. She ask me is it possible to make a keyhole on it and add a flower. Too. But not too long just as usual as everyone else make their shawl. Thanks
