It is the long-awaited, crochet sister pattern to our Melting Transitions shawl, and we're showing off two different versions of it! The Segue shawl is suitable for the Adventurous Beginner level crocheter. Watch this tutorial to learn how to crochet the different sections of this shawl and how to successfully block it into its unique shape.

Segue uses our Alpaca Silk DK yarn, which is the perfect yarn choice for this gorgeous shawl. The 50/50 blend of Baby Alpaca and Mulberry Silk gives it remarkable softness, wonderful drape, and cuddly warmth. This 4-ply yarn is a heavenly, shimmery, long-wearing yarn. Wonderful for cozy, next-to-skin items like shawls, scarves, cowls, sweaters, hats, mittens, and other accessories and garments.
The samples are shown in two versions. Version 1 was made with the Wetland Hues Kit: A) Blue, B) Aqua, C) Gray, D) Multi, and E) Brown-Gray, and Version 2 used the Castaway Hues Kit, which was worked A-E from the darkest to the lightest color.

You did it again, I am never going to finish making all your beautiful patterns. Add another one to my list. I just saw the yarn for this shawl OMG it is so beautiful! I want every single colorway, I am going to have to win the lottery. I was showing them all to my fiancee(who has no interest in fiber arts) saying "baby look at this one. Oh, look at this one" I showed them all to him. He is very patient because I know he would rather do anything else than look at yarn.

They generally come in packs of 9, and I had 27 mats assembled in this video.

Can we make it in sport weight yarn?
Sure! Just make a gauge swatch with your yarn to make sure you like how it looks. You may want to go up a hook size or two to get the same lacy, draping look. And of course, check how a different hook size affects the amount of yarn you'll need.

We don't have blocking kits, but that's a great idea. I like the Knit Picks blocking mats and pins.

Wonderful, welcome! Not necessarily, if you feel it is out of shape or the lace is not that pronounced anymore, then yes block it again. Otherwise I'd just lay it flat to dry! I hope this helps. 💚

Has anyone made this without blocking it? Just curious as to what it would look like for someone who wants to make this but doesn’t have the boards or ever blocked anything?
Hi Ashton, if you don't block it, the wrap will not reach the final dimensions stated in the pattern furthermore it will not "bloom" meaning the lace will not open up and unfold its shape.
You don't need blocking mats however, to block you project. Many makers use cardboard and pins to do it.

Every time I wash I have to blook?
Not necessarily but you want it to lay flat while drying and block it when you feel like the lace it's as open anymore as it was after the first blocking. I hope this makes sense. Have a nice weekend! 🧡

So I have to pay $6.00 to receive the full pattern? I did this with a different site and I have no idea where it is so that was a waste of money. At age 70 I’m not terribly tech savvy and I either need a paper hard copy that I can keep or I need a free full pattern that I can write down and save. Very disappointed because it’s a beautiful pattern.

Your shawls are beautiful, you speak so sweetly but I am unable to follow your tutorials as they are too fast also if you could give with full no.of stitches rather than just a small block of pattern.
