This is why Thierry’s runways are so loved by everyone. Models are of different age, heights and bodies. And notice how they smile!!!!! They have fun! They are not just selling you the garment, they are giving you an experience. They. Give. You. Life!!!
But they aren't of different races! He used one Black model and one Asian. Everyone else was white. Thierry had the clout to do better. This lack of diversity is an ongoing problem at the big runway shows.
94110mission uh no. Thierry is white. His clothing is an expression of himself. He’s not going going to have other races portray something he isn’t unless it’s for an artistic purpose. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that and clearly you’re making up problems. Fashion design in the high culture context is a European thing.
@@BlackNoiseCat By your logic these should all be men's clothes since Thierry is a man. This is a fashion SHOW. This was fashion in the 90s. Whether you find it tacky now, they didn't back then. People ate this stuff up and honestly, shows today could use a lot more of this type of pizzazz.
High fashion was in it's prime in the 90's. Everything was so cutting edge, and designers took real risk. However, these looks are pure timeless. They look good even today.
Not tacky at all, this is GLAMOROUS. Timeless, beautiful, sophisticated, somehow wonderfully campy, evocative, pure fashion. Fashion of today doesn't hold a candle to this.
Mikki Ricafort since you were one of the models in that 95 show, please tell me if Patti Heart was one of the models? One of the models certainly does look like her.
You know what the BEST part about this immaculate show was? Besides the garments themselves, it's the diversity. There were women in their 20's, 30's, 40's, and I believe there were a three or four famous models in their 50's or 60's as well. There was also racial as well as body diversity. It wasn't about being a shapeless twig weighing 105 pounds, it was the celebration of FEMININITY, femme fatale, and GLAMOUR in all its forms, first and foremost.
@@katjaw3562 I'm not bashing anyone, skinny shapeless twig is a body type.. like Twiggy, who was nicknamed and revered for her twig like shape. This is why I love Thierry Mugler, he catered for all body shapes, skin tones, ages and heights...I remember watching runways as a child and teen, getting to see the beautiful designs and models, my love for fashion never dies ❤️
Only that the 90's was the most unglamourous decade ever. Male hatred, Prozac, Tony Blair and Oasis, give me a fucking break! Mugler fashion shows and super models were great of course, like isolated pockets of lush in a sea of dreary, but his entire aestethic actually harps back to a previous era, namely the 80's, without which any of the above would have been impossible. The 90's... they were nothing. The 80's and late 70's, on the other hand, now we're talking. :)
Slick Monique As a person who spent her late teens and 20's in the 90's, I beg to differ. Male hatred and Prozac? WTF? Obviously, you have only read about the 90's. Oasis? Really? More like Nirvana, Metallica, Tupac. The nineties had a lot of minimalistic and toned down fashion here and there, however it wasn't "unglamorous". You are so far off I can tell you didn't live through this time. @@anonymousunnamed3026 The only thing dull about the 90's was the minimalist fashion of that era. The 80's had much better, and bolder fashion in my humble opinion. Other than that though, the 90's ruled!

@@m8trxd you have no idea what you're talking about. Gay representation? HE WAS GAY! He included literal go-go dancing males on the sides near the end! He had trans people in this LITERAL SHOW. In the 90s! Hello? And Mugler has continued to always incorporate gay culture, age diversity, ethnic diversity, and even body type diversity IN THIS LITERAL SHOW FROM THE 90s and beyond. Shut your mouth and educate yourself. And sweety, Mugler SETS the trend, he does not "rip off." He's a legend with more talent in his pinky toe than your whole existence who has done more for us gays than anything you could or will ever achieve. Choke.

timeless clothing
The most prestigious, glamorous, impressive, sophisticated and wild show in the history of fashion. These women of different ages, certain of their worth. In short, the masterpiece. This music, and so on. The devil is in the details... I don't know if I've ever seen anything so epic and seductive in my entire life.
im a virgin so im nw to his work
I like it
This was actually a big show he did for his label's anniversary. The show was such a big deal at the time it was brocasted on french tv.
I wonder where one could buy this on DVD? I looked and Amazon only sells his perfume..:(
***** I doubt they will sell this on dvd.
among other things it was his birthday party too.
Historycal show
This is a fashion SHOW.
THIS!
Not tacky at all, this is GLAMOROUS. Timeless, beautiful, sophisticated, somehow wonderfully campy, evocative, pure fashion. Fashion of today doesn't hold a candle to this.
Nothing tacky about this show...pure artistry.
Noting was tacky
They don’t make them like this anymore! Pure perfection
from literally the beginning to end this show was entertainment art fashion and glamour
that was fun
Mikki Ricafort since you were one of the models in that 95 show,
please tell me if Patti Heart was one of the models? One of the
models certainly does look like her.
Athena He was so a head of his time😃
I couldn’t have said it better !
@Tell me a story look harder cause it's pretty obvious they weren't all the same maybe you're just not seeing the diversity you want to see
Funny how you state to like inclusivity and in the same sentence you bash skinny women #doublestandart
@@katjaw3562 I'm not bashing anyone, skinny shapeless twig is a body type.. like Twiggy, who was nicknamed and revered for her twig like shape. I'm not bashing the body type, but I am bashing the industry as a whole for giving millions upon millions of women self esteem issues for decades by only promoting one or two body types 😁
Rest In Peace legend! One of the greatest designers to ever live
Divas, Icons and Legends!! And Fashion thats not dated and wearable to this day! This is beyond Amazing! This is Iconic!! Wish fashion was still like this!

When models put on a show and it was exciting . Today they look like walking speed zombies .
this show is beyond epic
it's hard to imagine the amount of craftsmanship and hours out into this brilliant show
DAMN, they had legends in this show! This was almost like watching a Ball.
Seeing how balls are based off runway shows I think you have it the other way around
@@wilmafistfit4788 actually mugler drew a lot of inspiration from drag and ball culture
@@luis-sq8cp duh but that’s still where the Inspiration to have a ball came from
More than a fashion show, but a spectacular theatrical experience especially with James Brown. This show featured not only supermodels, but wonderful actors who had to play both parts. This is an ICONIC show that will never have an equal.
A couture icon of the 21st century, RIP Thierry Mugler.
20th century not 21st. He started in the 70s and became big in the 80s and 90s

I wish the runways of today would go back to this. Each outfit and each girl like a moving art piece. Sassing down the catwalk like a character come to life! Nowadays the plainer the model the better and half of them walk down the runway like zombies. I hope we cycle back round to this soon.
👏👏👏
Also I think there was more inclusion and diversity of looks here!
@@woolfulrebellion totally! surprising how i saw more body diversity in a 1999 show than half of the runways out there today
Amen these girls today have absolutely no idea on how to make a show memorable.
To be fair, they are walking/acting like this because it was Mugler's wish for this show. Any model can act the part but few designers request this kind of stuff.
And THIS my children we call: A SERVE FROM START TO FINISH
Bring back older models. Keeping everyone young only bottlenecks the narrative the clothes are expressing
It doesn't matter anymore because models are slowly being phased out by celebs
Bring back please
I do love to see models of all types
Balenciaga does this a lot
this is back when models acted like real supermodels with some attitude to their walk, but now models walk like they are half dead.
All of them today look as though they are being detained from a more pressing engagement
That's cause they are half dead from all the starvation...
@@roseparsons2253Maybe but in 2000s they had plaque of anorexia in models yet in Dior 2003 you could see some models with personality. Now it is more fun walking at randoms at street
I feel like the models were not only models but also actors, no performers was amazing, also loved how he incorporated old models and plus size woman, not only did he give them amazing dresses but also gave them their moment of shine, he made them beautiful just as the skinnier and younger models, overall FABULOUS, FANTASTIC, WONDERFUL COLLECTION AND THOSE MODELS WERE STUNNING. Loved it all.
This was 1995 people!!!! Mind blowing to think 25 years later this would be standing this strong.

I'm just a new kid from germany, who is not privy to fashion labels and knowledge of that kind at all, but the stigma of fashion shows today is that they are boring as hell; and I agreed, didn't get why so many people lived for fashion shows. Then I heard about Mugler and decided to google his shows: damn, now I see what people were living for - this was so cool, does any designer do that kinda stuff nowadays?
I want to puke to their faces for anyone who said kendaal, bella, gigi are supermodel. They are just famous model.
Who?
Bella has what it takes , she actually looks like a 90s model, Gigi and Kendall just look like your basic average white girl.

My first time seeing this and I loveeee it
Sophistication, futurism, indifference and hedonism. Nothing, just to watch and adore then.
This is why I love Thierry Mugler, he catered for all body shapes, skin tones, ages and heights...I remember watching runways as a child and teen, getting to see the beautiful designs and models, my love for fashion never dies ❤️
Ugh..... Take me back to the *90's*, baby!!
This is fashion & music for your *nerves*!!
I was a kid in the 90's and I agree, best decade ever. The fashion, the music, the movies, the hairstyles.
You're either older, spending your time in the cringey 80's with their Debbie Gibson and neon, or born after the 90's and are getting your opinion and info from the internet. Oasis......lmao.
Legends find each other.
@@anonymousunnamed3026 The only thing dull about the 90's was the minimalist fashion of that era. The 80's had much better, and bolder fashion in my humble opinion.
Other than that though, the 90's ruled!
this is honestly the best fashion show i've ever seen. So far ahead of it's time, it's inspirational to the present
