I haven’t been this moved or this awed by a show in a long, LONG time. I’m in my 30’s now, I got into ‘fashion’ as a teen. The same feeling I had as a kid being knocked out by fantasy of it all, I had the same reaction today. And I’m sorry to sound so sentimental but I was genuinely teary eyed watching this. We are so lucky to live in the same era as John Galliano (and Pat McGrath!). This was insane. Bravo!!!
you were not alone, this took me back to more precious times. when all this was less predictable, less sterile and less streamlined. when look number 2 appeared after the tone was set I couldn't believe my eyes, I realized that John let himself shine through for this one, while keeping iconic Margiela imagery. What followed only got more and more incredible. Considering the current state of things, this show raised the bar pretty high.
Thankfully, you can go back to 1994 with UA-cam videos of John's work... I have all the links in a file... His work used to be so fantastic and now, perhaps a hint of the old John immerges again... I adore John's talent... I am 78 and been interested in fashion all my life... My own creations made it to Vogue magazine in 1972 with two issues having Diana Vreeland come right to my door with models to choose what they wanted to wear in the photo shoots in Rhonda, Spain.
Galliano, McQueen and Mugler - the most amazing creatives taking fashion to another level - this show is ground breaking. Thank you to all who contributed to make this one for the ages.
I never thought I would see the dramatic, world building type shows from a bygone era ever again! Im so happy we still have John Galliano to show everyone how its done!
This is just simply sublime. The last Grand Couturier showed himself again, reminding everyone why he has no current competition. Brava Brava Brava Monsieur Galliano, another one for the ages!!
I can't remember how many times i have watched this show or listened to the music, so many times. Every time I'm moved to tears, it's quite incredible. Knowing Galliano's earlier fall from grace makes me only more so. It's just superb.
This is the most beautiful show I've ever seen, every look has it's own story and the model are not just there as a living hanger but also part of the garment. the nudity, the deconstruction, the leather work, the hat and headpieces , the hair do, the make up and the styling are 10/10
But what they really mean is couture is dead. Couture is real artisty and craft. Fashion is just trends and styles that come and go. That never dies. So no fashion is not dead. The fund$ it takes to create an “artisanal” collection like this and showcase it with such theatrically and emotion are actually massive; on top of the fact that doing all this is not easy, practical nor profitable for a fashion house. When galliano headed Dior his budget was never ending, he could do anything and did as he pleased. When he got fired it was only a matter of time, the world was changing and the purse strings were tightening. He would not have lasted long at Dior regardless. Those saying “He’s back” don’t get that he’s back only because he has the funds and resources to do so. Industry insiders always believed in John. No one deserted him or doubted him after his downfall, because they know his genius is unique and real. He never lost it. He just got lost in the everyday bulls**t of social politics
John Galliano, the genius, his creations are not just fashion but true art. The Maison Margiela Artisanal show fascinates, hypnotizes, inspires. It marks a new era in the history of fashion
As a genz in fashion school, I’m constantly learning and quoting galliano’s work ever since his 80s collection, his dior shows, and it has always been a past/archival collection. Seeing a present collection by him that shares equal drama as his past shows makes me beyond happy. What a fascinating show.
This is unfair. The art form on this show transcends all types of beauty perceptions and I cannot see the same of the other shows afterwards. Perfection.
Best show in YEARS - out of all runways for all designers. We haven't seen magic like this in over a decade. This is 90s and early 2000s level runway magic.
MAGICAL! Maison Margiela has set the standard! Wish that every runway show have at least this kinda artistry, movement, and something authentics! Bless you all the team, thank you for all your great works to make this show happen! I believe art and fashioan would be a great companion together! It movement, it story telling, it fabrics, it sound, it song, it make up, it lighting, it setting, etc are magical combination. Sorrowness, loneliness, fragile, flaws, imperfections and other things come up without any narration, every people were felt it. Hat off for all the team, once again! Thank you for your great great works! ❤
Sigh. This made me feel something. It was so beautiful. Michael Howells beautiful. And it only kept getting better and better. It made me feel fifteen again, like I was watching the arrival of the Diorient Express at the Gare d’Austerlitz for the first time. The tightrope walking was a stroke of sheer genius. I know that somewhere in heaven André Leon Talley is wiping a tear from his cheek as well. Bravo!
Galliano has made actors out of models, the manipulated animation in gestures and emotional contortions of their limbs is something I’ve never seen in fashion. This is not Martin’s Margiela, and I worry it detaches too far from the brand as a whole, but it’s so outstanding it’s impossible for me to not fall for it
I watched an interview with John Galliano. He said Margiela, the real person, told him to be himself in this brand. We don't know if it's a commercial strategy or what, but "boss" has approved and liked this. Also, compared to other giant brands, the quality of this show is way much better. We should appreciate this and let Galliano and Margiela go.
if you say there is no martin margiela, then you are mistaken. I would say look again. Pause, pay attention to the details. It is Margiela designed by Galliano. And that's exactly what it's supposed to be. The galliano elements might be more visually dominant at first sight but at a closer inspection, the old martin margiela details are all there.
To say that this collection was beautifully sublime and surreal is somehow still an understatement. This really was an ode and a rebirth of Galliano and his life's work interpreted in an edited Margiela skin. From the amputee Freddy mercury performance, to the models walking to a remixed Hometown Glory by Adele, to the set, to all the models bursting a life and character into their walks, and to the absolute love and obsession for craftsmanship and fashion - this was beyond triumphant! I cried many parts during the show because as a teenager I obsessed over Galliano's theatrics and fashion, and to see it come alive again was truly magical. I would die if I ever got the honor and pleasure of witnessing this live. Bravo bravo bravo Galliano and Margiela team! 🎉❤🙌🏼🫶🏼🙏🏼
Лучшее! Здесь заложено терзание души и глубина, а не просто красивая картинка. Гальяно заставил почувствовать что-то каждого по-своему, это и есть талант художника - пробуждать чувства.

Wow, this is the best show ever, this is art and live, beautiful, has a massage, it touches your soul, Fashion ecstasy. Bravo Galliano, Obrigado for not giving up. This Fashion show should win ever Award out there. Immortal
Margiela allowed Galliano to reconstruct his own essence in the same way an original Margiela garment was reconstructed and brought new life. A new meaning to taking over a house, not rehashes of old design, but core values as personal concepts. I love this era for John. More please.
Sometimes they are communicating with buyers and selecting in real time with editors. So they have to make sure they have the best image front and back.
Season after season this has been bubbling and now it’s finally here. Galliano x Margiella! There is a place for this always beyond the normal attempts at beauty people have become accustomed to. Galliano is a historian and visionary and his gift of storytelling through fashion is transcendent. These models walked for their lives and served, served, SERVED! Bravo!
Gad the same reaction by the 2010 chanel couture show, i was just crying and today if i see this show with a friend i have to hold the tears back every time
This show ascends to the top of fashion history one of the top ten shows in all HISTORY! John Galliano is a true living genius. Emotion and artistry. Exquisite
Despite all the controversy surrounding Galliano, you can’t deny his artistic capabilities. Wherever his hand goes, you can distinctively recognize his work no matter what, while also following/adapting to house codes. That’s true talent.
There is no controversy. Drunk people say stupid things, that's all. He acknowledged his mistake but some people wanted to make an example of him. Some people wanted to advance their agenda and act as if they were the only victims under Hitler, even monopolizing the term "semitic". Being Semitic is not only jews, even less is about zionists. They wanted to label him "antisemitic" and cancel him, when Semites implies other groups that are not jews or zionists. Not happy with the land they stole from other people, even that word they want to appropriate. Zionists want to act as the perpetual victims to get further political benefits in the present world. LGBTQI+ people were not even helped after Hitler fall. He just said what he said in a drunk rage episode and apologized for it. The Zionist wanted to make an issue out of it.
So subterranean and so opulent, so sensitive and so cheeky, so retro and so futuristic, he is above and below, he knows how to be everywhere and take us into his magical and ingenious universe. The planets finally move and open the doors to sovereigns again, the real ones who give us back hope, beauty and courage. Galliano is an alchemist, he transforms matter and elements. Welcome back and thank you.
Thanks to Margiela for wanting to keep the bar high n set the bar even higher in the fashion industry, and thanks to John Gallian for making it happen, so happy that true fashion is still a thing.
Absolutely spell binding.. The dark fantasy, ghostly relics that inhabit the mind of John Galliano. Escaping , discovering a foggy portal into our world. Tip-toeing frenetically on the streets of Paris, colliding with Pat McGrath's brush, pick-pocketing Renzo Russos wallet containing Martin Margielas telephone number, under everyones nose. This was quite possibly the best Artisinal collection by John. Story telling genius. Proving that if you amass a league of talent that truly shares your vision and can put on such a breath taking display, the world will perhaps recognize the genius that has just breezed by. Bravo!
A show that will leave other houses gooped! Takes me right back to the days when the industry was actually about being creative instead of hocking homogenous clothes for a logo and Truly schooling the children on what fashion really means. For me, the entire presentation rolls the creativity of Galliano, Lee McQueen and Westwood into one delicious gluttonous buffet of visual delights that leaves me starving for more. Bravo Monsieur….Bravo! We have just witnessed fashion history.
@@naurrrre Now is that anyway to have a discussion about art? Like it or not, everyone has their own opinions, you certainly don’t have to agree. That’s your personal choice. An artistic visual buffet like this is meant to inspire and give pathways to open discussions. However, if that is your ideas of having a “proper discussion “….I’m gonna opt out of this. Have a lovely day.
@@naurrrre "this is couture, the stuff with logos you’ve seen are not couture"...Get off your high horse...the Margiela 4 thread stripes are on every piece on the show which has essentially become the Margiela logo. Like a Peter Greenaway film. Sublime art all around. The models were fantastic with the lines they made, the way they walked, filled with character and story. First guy was mesmerizing with his expressions. Gwendolyn Christie was like a goddess in motion.

In one of Galliano's earlier interviews with Tim Blanks he said that "he has not reached his full stride yet at Maison Margiela" but, it is very evident that he has surpassed it in this artisanal collection-so richly elegant, articulated and poised! There is also one of his favourite objects of affection/inspiration-the spirit of Madame Bijou (image by Brassaï) runs throughout this astounding artistic performance. Galliano is a showman, if you enjoyed this you would enjoy his older shows as well, he had a rough patch when the foul things Natalie Portman and company tried to cancel him, glad he is back.

In agreement with you guys.
Was thinking the same exact thing!
😭😭😭😭😭 wow
Mr. Galliano knocked the planets out of orbit in this show. ❤ BRAVO! 🙌

Exactly
I can't remember how many times i have watched this show or listened to the music, so many times. Every time I'm moved to tears, it's quite incredible. Knowing Galliano's earlier fall from grace makes me only more so. It's just superb.
This is the most beautiful show I've ever seen, every look has it's own story and the model are not just there as a living hanger but also part of the garment. the nudity, the deconstruction, the leather work, the hat and headpieces , the hair do, the make up and the styling are 10/10
people love to complain that fashion is dead, fashion was better before, yet this is the best show i've ever watched
Cause it came back
cause THIS is how it was before... pure art, beauty beyond the norm, excelence in every way, Galliano.
This is what shows looked like in the past.
♥️
John Galliano, the genius, his creations are not just fashion but true art. The Maison Margiela Artisanal show fascinates, hypnotizes, inspires. It marks a new era in the history of fashion
Pure poetry! The theatrics. The drama. The artistry. The clothes. The makeup. THIS is haute couture. THIS is fashion. Bravo John Galliano!
As a genz in fashion school, I’m constantly learning and quoting galliano’s work ever since his 80s collection, his dior shows, and it has always been a past/archival collection. Seeing a present collection by him that shares equal drama as his past shows makes me beyond happy. What a fascinating show.
you should watch his mens collections and vintage runway whatever you can find...thrilling
and you should see how he take curtain call back in the days
This is one of the best shows ever created in fashion.
This is art. This is fashion. This is expression.
This is a statement
This is a reflection of the world we live in
Thank you John Galliano ♥️
Don’t forget John Galliano!
It is JOHN GALLIANO,please.❤😊
best show in over a decade wow
This is unfair. The art form on this show transcends all types of beauty perceptions and I cannot see the same of the other shows afterwards. Perfection.
Finally, a runway that is not boring and the model's walk match the personality of outfit they are wearing
Bravo!
Oh, yes, I can see ALT crying and screaming in awe❤
Andre would be having palpitations following this magnificent show
FASHION IS BACK
Yes!
Yes!
Mr. John Galliano, furthering the great vision of the Maison Martin. Artistry, form, poetics.
Bravo, bravo.
My breath was stolen the entire time!
Galliano has made actors out of models, the manipulated animation in gestures and emotional contortions of their limbs is something I’ve never seen in fashion. This is not Martin’s Margiela, and I worry it detaches too far from the brand as a whole, but it’s so outstanding it’s impossible for me to not fall for it
Say it to Gvasalia in Balenciaga
you need ck
Don't think too much this Martin’s Margiela "Film Noir" version. Fashion show just marketing to viral.
I just don't have the words. Galliano is back! Bravo!!!
This fashion show is undeniably a great moment in the history of Fashion. MAGNIFICENT and poetic.

I was looking for this comment. They were succesfully killing the atmosphere with those phones.
Bravo!

It’s been months , I’m still not over this show. Bravo 🎉
TRUE HAUTE COUTURE! BRAVO, AND THANK YOU JOHN GALLIANO!
I hope you look at the New Romantic of the 80's, this is totally a style
Thanks to Margiela for wanting to keep the bar high n set the bar even higher in the fashion industry, and thanks to John Gallian for making it happen, so happy that true fashion is still a thing.
Je n' ai jamais vu un défilé aussi extraordinaire ! Bravo John ! Un sublime Triomphe !❤
Bravo!
Exquisitely encapsulated by your words
A show that will leave other houses gooped!
Takes me right back to the days when the industry was actually about being creative instead of hocking homogenous clothes for a logo and Truly schooling the children on what fashion really means. For me, the entire presentation rolls the creativity of Galliano, Lee McQueen and Westwood into one delicious gluttonous buffet of visual delights that leaves me starving for more. Bravo Monsieur….Bravo! We have just witnessed fashion history.
