Especially at 0:22, when Claudia Schiffer went our of her way, quite literally, into the off-center lane of the oncoming Karen Mulder to shoulder-check her. But that's not to argue - I agree that the models had personalities and looked like they were having fun on stage!
Today they look mostly numb or angry because they are always hungry.. a lack of food can make a person numb, distressed, nervous, bad mooded, easily upset, anxious and extremley over-sensitive. Because the body is always in a alerted stress-mode as it doesnt get enough food and nutrients. Models back then were slim, but still healthy and ate normal.

I love 90s fashion shows because the models never seemed rushed. They sauntered down the runway at a sedate pace and really let you admire the garments with how graceful and secure they were in their movements. Still stunning.
I used to model and back then I was told my walk is good, but I still took lessons for it before I started working, because it wasn't just about rushing through the runway. In short, the way we were taught "in the old days", was to take our time and to show the clothes well. All these turns and twirls the supermodels are doing (there are specific ones) are not for nothing, it shows the clothes more and it looks more elegant. The time isn't only needed to make it look beautiful on the runway, but also for the rest of the models to have enough time to change backstage, because there's a smaller rotation. I did it a bit after those times the classic runways, but the rules for still the same, as it only started to really change in the last, about a decade.
Now, people rarely want to actually work (no judgement, a fact), so everything is simplified. Most of the time companies prefer to hire more models, so they don't need to worry about making everything work on time, with little to no rotation. The turns were dropped because it's easier to do/to walk for everyone (even with no experience), the running through that runway is easier than having to think what to do too. Most have forgotten that models have to actually show/sell clothes and not just walk like they are on their way somewhere. That's why the market becomes saturated with models as well, because now a lot of girls can do it as opposed to before. For designers, companies, magazines, photographers, it's beneficial, because most models have become very replaceable. Seems like a win-win, if only an art and beauty part of it weren't almost lost.

The team on makeup, hair, wardrobe, and etc deserve a round of applause because everyone looks gorgeous from head to toe! They look just like the finest luxury vintage Barbie’s (in a 2024 lens.) This was an amazing runway show! Executed perfectly. ♥️
I love it. They were all very skinny yet there was curves. And everything is very classy - the make-up, hair, clothes, etc. Very chic. I kinda like that the spotlight is only at the models and the rest is pretty dark, you only focus on the runway.
@Theofficialpinkpanther Pinky not normal at all. They did things , skipped meals, had certain ridiculously small diets, some even took drugs to help, to look this way. It was healthy if they had the choice to eat a chicken salad twice in a day and not feel like forcing yourself to puke it out or not feel guilty about it and regretful. We can deny it. But doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. All had some sort of food illness.
I mean yea but tbh, the fashion today. For example Gucci. There’s something about it that I just love, the pieces are ugly but beautiful at the same time. It’s like art but on cloths. And only the designer can explain them. I definitely love the fashion for Gucci. It’s just so different and bizzare.
I love how models laughed in the shows and actually showed emotion back then, it added to the clothes. Now days their faces are so mean looking and 'fierce' but it just ruins the vibe of the show
Amazingly the audience is applauding the models instead of the clothes. They gave life to the pieces they wore. Those days wont come. An unforgettable era of the modeling industry and I'm happy I was already alive to witness it.

@Jennifer Smoke maybe some of them did have surgery because I know that not everyone in the entertainment industry is natural but their still so beautiful 🥰🥰
Just because the girls were thicker and glowed with the more glamorous look, from the gorgeous locks to the over the top 90s makeup doesn't mean they were necessarily healthy. Many of these girls partied hard, and experimented with drugs. Not that it doesn't still go on now, but your comment seems to suggest that girls today are unhealthy because they are thinner and lack personality in the runway, which should not be used as basis of general health.
Lissandra Freljord no one said they were healthier (we all know most of them partied a lot) but they definitely LOOKED healthier than models post 2000.
I love that the pieces in this are actually beautiful and fashionable. It feels like today's designers purposely create ugly clothes. I hardly ever see anything in modern fashion shows that I really want to buy. In this show, I wanted almost every single piece of clothing.
@TTFPouyi Yes, they're imitations with modern additions. I don't care for the modern version of past trends. I think there's a difference. That's why garments made right now aren't exact copies of garments from decades ago.
It's purposeful in a way to show exclusivity. As hard to copy and reproduce for cheap. Therefore not for mass market. Some so absurd it's not even for people but to show off on social media for fame to owner and the brand. Absurd is very trendy just as it was 100 years ago when situation in the world was similar.
I was born in 1971. I remember this era completely - Naomi, Claudia, Linda, Kate..... senior year of high school in 1989, (when Guess jeans were cool!) and Versace's models seemed like untouchable goddesses. Here we are in 2022 and this now seems like the approachable girl next door scene.
Natural beauty isnt really noticed anymore now its just fake everything, heavy makeup that doesn't even look like the same person, cosmetic injections and surgery
I remember this era as well, and also with vivid clarity. I'm born in '79 and graduated HS in '97 so my teen/formative years WERE the 1990s. I can remember being SO infatuated with the Supermodels (and if I'm being honest I probably still am). When my March 1994 Vogue arrived, I distinctly recall flipping through it and discovering that two page Versace ad featuring Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington, Stephanie Seymour, Nadja Auermann, and Claudia Schiffer all wearing metallic pastel miniskirts and angora sweaters with high heels and ankle socks. Probably spent a solid hour just staring at it, looking at each of the models, noticing both the differences and the similarities of their clothes, contemplating what their facial expressions meant, etc. I finally took out the box cutter and with surgical precision, removed both pages and hung the campaign on my bedroom wall where it remained for all of HS and college. Fashion was so huge at that time, it was treated as an artform and experienced a huge rise in public interest, not least of all because of the Supermodels themselves. There was House of Style on MTV and Fashion Television on VH1 and if they were not featured on one of these episodes then they were certainly turning up in music videos. There was always a way to see them. This is such a richly beautiful, unrepeatable period in modern history. And these women just had something special that made it nearly impossible to take your eyes off them 😍
Hi there fellow child of 1971! I can complete relate to this comment. My friends and I would look at Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Marie Claire, etc… We knew all the top models of that era.
when you cant do innovation u increase the population ;D i mean basically we still wear the same stuff but started dressing more girls AND BOYS in fast living mass couture xD also the girls back then had the more masculine touch/cut compared to the overall kardashian egg style today
This entire line up is iconic . From the clothes , that still influence fashion today , to the models sophisticated and vibrant walk . You can tell this was one of the peaks of fashion in history .
And they were gorgeous! No damn Botox used to lift brows or face fillers to fill caved in faces like a certain model, K.J., no not Kylie - she's a wanna-be model!
Looking at all this beauty i get the feeling that Gianni actually loved and adored the woman. Everything looks like it's made for her - to help her have an amazing day, to get her comfortable, to enhance the beauty she already has. Every piece is a compliment for her, and she knows that she's made to get it. 🌺 Hands down, it was unrepeatable era.
Why is no one talking about Yasmeen Ghauri, the way she walks, the way the crowd clapped for almost all her looks. Her iconic moments with Versace. Yasmeen Ghauri truly had the walk of life.
His creations were worn by queens, princesses and celebrities. He was royalty in the fashion world. He worked so hard for his success only to be ended by a worthless psycho man. Rest in Peace Gianni. Your creations lives forever. So beautiful
One of the things I loved about Giani Versace was that he made the women look beautiful with their hair and makeup, instead of making them look weird and comical.
Where they place their eyes and point their gaze is amazing. The expression. It’s like choreographed? Idk I feel like I’m watching a movie/ballet/musical/commercial. Every single inch of them is performing.
Great reminder how amazing of a designer Gianni Versace was. All of these outfits would look fantastic now in 2022. The models from this Era were so stunning too. So many famous models in this show. Love it! RIP Gianni Versace
The real supermodels. That era is way too old, but seems like yesterday to me. Missing the 90's. Edit: never had that many likes before!! 3.8K!! Thanks.
Ooh darling! It's the facials expression, the walk, the way of the hips that let me in awe and mesmerized. THIS needs to be brought back the freedom to express yourself and bringing such life into the pieces. Because each person had a unique way to their walks and expressions. Some used used eyebrow movements to emphasize their expressions, some smized ( skilling with their eyes), flirty looks, or serious stare. I saw one give a full smile, or a combination of these at once. And I felt like it didn't take away light from the pieces but added to it. To add, I felt that depending on the clothing, they changed their aura/energy. So it matched with the piece. like for example something flowy, they gave more sway in their walks or flirty eyes but in the suits, it was more serious, boss like. Now.... It's like moving mannequins....So lifeless. Back then they WORE the fits and added a twist with how they acted while strutting the runway but now a days the fits wear them. Anyhoow I hope everyone has a good day. Tataa, Take Care
Yeah they are not even supposed to have personality anymore stone faced no sway or attitude fashion used to be fun seems oppressive now comparatively. It was a show with drama themes music now it's like looking a rack of clothes.
This is my comfort video and I have 3 reasons to justify: 1. The clothes. Everything is just absolutely gorgeous and I NEED them. It's an example of eternal fashion and I just love how everyone in the comments feel the same. The pieces are perfect in every single way and I wanna buy them all! They are still able to fit a lot of modern concepts and yet are so much better than a lot of the modern collections. 2. Can we just take a moment to appreciate the old runaway shows? Like 😅 idk if I'm the only one but I really like the old ones because of the model's attitude. They look like they love their clothes and they are acting like they could conquer the world in them. 3. The crowd! I mean, it seemed so interactive and people sound genuinely happy to be there and enjoying the whole experience. Almost as if the fashion show was a music show. That's all. Watching this makes me happy (sometimes I get scared cuz I feel like the models in the back might bump into each other but other than that its an enjoyable experience 😂).
All of them are STUNNING especially Shalom Harlow, Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Linda Evangelista, Claudia Schiffer, Cindy Crawford, Carla Bruni, Helena Christensen, Yasmeen Ghauri, Nadja Auermann I LOVE ALL OF THEM BUT THE MODELS NOW CAN NEVER COMPARE TO THE 90'S, THIS HAS TO BE MY FAVOURITE FASHION SHOW EVER
all in this fashion show is so absolutely perfect like the way the models walk just hit different and the collection is all so good, I definitely loved

I’ve always loved Giovanni Versace’s style. He was focused on perfection and had fun and loved what he did. I actually had a crush on him regardless of his lifestyle. He will always be remembered and missed. True fashion icon.
I am wholly convinced that the 1990s are an unrepeatable event in human history. This is a really great example of why I think this. Prior to the late 80s, it was a model's job to sell the product they were hired to promote. High fashion models were supposed to be invisible, to blend into the background and act as de facto hangers for the clothes they were selling. Enter the 1990s. The music industry changed dramatically with the introduction of grunge and ska influences to the masses. Cinema began to evole, CGI was introduced, Blockbuster on a Friday night was a BIG deal, and indie films were suddenly becoming much more serious and attention worthy. Art was being held as an important and viable, valuable creative outlet for many young people to explore and also be taken seriously in new, previously unexplored ways. The role of fashion and fashion models changed as well. Models became celebrities in their own right. The rise of fashion as an artform in a different context gave them the freedom through designers to show actual personality and performance in their shows. The models were allowed to be both characters and themselves while working. Healthy bodies, smiling faces, shining personalities, dazzling performances. This is also seen in the overlap between fashion and other areas of show business during this era (late 80s and 90s) So many supermodels were dating or married to actors or musicians. Rachel Hunter and Rod Stewart Cindy Crawford and Richard Gere Kate Moss and Johnny Depp Stephanie Seymour and Axl Rose Christy Turlington and Edward Norton Elaine Irwin and John Mellencamp Jill Goodacre and Harry Connick Jr. Elizabeth Hurley and Hugh Grant Claudia Schiffer and David Copperfield Christy Brinkley and Billy Joel Karen Elson and Jack White Paulina Poriskova and Ric Ocasek Heidi Klum and Seal Iman and David Bowie (they go back a long time) I'm convinced that the 90s are a luscious time capsule of artistic renaissance and excess but we won't see anything like it ever again. And yes. It was a GLORIOUS time to be alive 😁
Gianni Versace created the SUPER MODEL. His iconic 5 page fashion spreads personified the IDEAL. THESE women were super in that their carriers spanned decades. Truely a feat in the business. HE started his infamy in the beginning of the 80s. If it weren't for the 80s the ninties would have been lackluster....😁😁
Ahhhh.....Gianni and THE greatest lineup of models in the history of Fashion. This is what fashion shows WERE made of, and this is what everyone misses. Thank you so much for posting the full version of this unforgettable show. Other channels have deleted part of the footage from this one. Well done!!
I came across Claudia in a picture with Cindy Crawford, who I knew about because of Naomi Campbell who was my mother's favorite model back in the day. Now why I couldn't figure out Linda is because here and in the shows I saw, she had blond hair, but in nearly all pictures I've seen of her, she had dark hair so I didn't recognize her. I've actually been seeing Linda for YEARS and didn't even realize it lol

I totally agree. Victorias Secret models are the ones who cannot cut it in the real world of high fashion. They ALL have implants which is a big no no in real modelling. Vic Sec models just look cheap and tacky. Only Miranda and Giselle made it out.
Honestly, what strikes the most for me is how flattering everything is here: makeup, hair, clothes. It all makes them look beautiful and healthy. No bleached brows. No crazy makeup looks. No lifeless/ill looking makeup. No unflattering hair cuts and colours. Weird looks are pretty much the first thing most people think of when we they think about today’s runaway makeup/hair. Can’t we have healthy looking faces and luscious hair again for once?
carmen kass stan _ Search here on youtube for the 2019 Versace show and you’ll see that Versace has changed a lot for the worse. Greasy hair and pale, over-smudged, unflattering makeup. Having just watched the Versace spring 2023 fashion show, a few things strike me about this. The models in 1995 were allowed to smile and seemed happy, they had curves and feminine bodies despite being tall and thin, and they looked to be having fun. The 2023 show features painfully skinny, woefully pouty and miserable looking walking coat hangers. Not one was recognizable, memorable or attractive even. I love it. They were all very skinny yet there was curves. And everything is very classy - the make-up, hair, clothes, etc. Very chic. I kinda like that the spotlight is only at the models and the rest is pretty dark, you only focus on the runway.
I know right
@Gio Marrocco very beautiful but definitely not healthy
@Theofficialpinkpanther Pinky not normal at all. They did things , skipped meals, had certain ridiculously small diets, some even took drugs to help, to look this way. It was healthy if they had the choice to eat a chicken salad twice in a day and not feel like forcing yourself to puke it out or not feel guilty about it and regretful. We can deny it. When fashion shows actually had clothes you would wear. Instead of weird abstract pieces that leave u asking where the hands go.
Where the hands go...😂😂😂 im dead!
😂 Right! Just doing TOO much! 😫
I mean, there were a lot of wearable pieces in the Gianna Versace spring 2020 show, but I guess these pieces do look a lot more normal
i mean it depends what designer, the jacquemes 2020 show had a alot of wearable pieces
90s supermodels were voluptuous, glamorous & stunning
I love how models laughed in the shows and actually showed emotion back then, it added to the clothes. Now days their faces are so mean looking and 'fierce' but it just ruins the vibe of the show

these models actually look healthy
Just because the girls were thicker and glowed with the more glamorous look, from the gorgeous locks to the over the top 90s makeup doesn't mean they were necessarily healthy. Many of these girls partied hard, and experimented with drugs. Not that it doesn't still go on now, but your comment seems to suggest that girls today are unhealthy because they are thinner and lack personality in the runway, which should not be used as basis of general health.

@TTFPouyi nothing is ever original all styles are imitations of something it’s nothing new to notice.

Natural beauty isnt really noticed anymore now its just fake everything, heavy makeup that doesn't even look like the same person, cosmetic injections and surgery
omg you look younger than me even if i was born in 2004!❣️
Yessssss

This is beauty. No lip fillers, fake body parts, and 50 pounds of makeup. True beauty and elegance.
Rachel Hunter and Rod Stewart
Cindy Crawford and Richard Gere
Kate Moss and Johnny Depp
Stephanie Seymour and Axl Rose
Christy Turlington and Edward Norton
Elaine Irwin and John Mellencamp
Jill Goodacre and Harry Connick Jr.
Elizabeth Hurley and Hugh Grant
Claudia Schiffer and David Copperfield
Christy Brinkley and Billy Joel
Karen Elson and Jack White
Paulina Poriskova and Ric Ocasek

I'm convinced that the 90s are a luscious time capsule of artistic renaissance and excess but we won't see anything like it ever again. And yes. It was a GLORIOUS time to be alive 😁

They’re actually beautiful not just “good looking”
What?
same thing lmfao
ummm isnt that the same thing😭
@@mar-nx1ld not really lol beautiful is a more stronger word i believe
Tf does that mean
Besides the beautiful clothes, I can't get over these supermodels. Nothing like you see today, I love the hair I LOVE the makeup. So fierce so alive
I see smiling, gorgeous and healthy women who are chosen for their elegance, not for instagram
healthy??? those girls were TINY
@@kate-rs8qr But it's still ok in comparison with nowadays models
@@kate-rs8qr why are you saying being thin is not healthy wtf
@@kate-rs8qr they are not tiny. I’m a normal person working in office, eating a lot of food including kfc and pizza occasionally, but with regular exercise my body is similar to those girls and don't get fat for years. It's a good thing to be lean!
@megan rivera I don't agree with them but that's not what they said.
Everything about this era was magical. The clothes were elegant and represented femininity. The models were all individually beautiful. Bring this back!!!🥰
When I was younger I thought I wanted to be a Victoria’s Secret model…now I’ve grown up and I realize I actually wanted to be a 90s Versace model! Love these styles and attitude of the 90s time period. I was a young child at this time so I didn’t get to appreciate fashion like I can now. These looks are wonderful! The fabrics are as gorgeous as the models. Versace was the best at making women look like goddesses. RIP Gianni, we appreciate your hard work and beautiful designs to this day. ❤
He really knew how to make a fabric drape and flow. He loved beauty and was good to his models.
Victoria’s Secret are like a comedy comparte to this, not even dare to compare… it only takes one of this models to finish all of Victoria’s Secret careers
I totally agree. Victorias Secret models are the ones who cannot cut it in the real world of high fashion. They ALL have implants which is a big no no in real modelling. Vic Sec models just look cheap and tacky. Only Miranda and Giselle made it out.
He set the pace and loved it
I love this fashion
25 years later , I would still wear a lot of those clothes
‘cause it’s called fashion.
Well it’s a Versace show.. The makeup is on brand with what Versace represents
carmen kass stan _ Search here on youtube for the 2019 Versace show and you’ll see that Versace has changed a lot for the worse. Greasy hair and pale, over-smudged, unflattering makeup. The clothes are also much more fast fashion styled instead of timeless elegant pieces, with the exception of a few pieces.
Back then, everybody cared for their hair! Hairstyles were simply gorgeous back then!
Stephanie B Yea you’re right..
Stephanie B no
Yasmeen Ghauri and Shalon Harlow had the best walk on the show. Both look premium, sophisticated.
Shalom absolutely KILLED IT
She’s great at working her eyes. What an incredibly beautiful, romantic face. Looks like she misjudged her space when she slammed into the other model with her shoulder though, lol. Oopsie!
@@ohlottieI heard that was planned because it was like a black swan and a white swan.
@@kimkardashianlostearring5277 Sorry for the question, but Shalom and the model she faced were rivals? Or was it just planned for the sake of the show? I'll be glad if you know something about it, because I can't find any information about it at all
@@nightblossomrose I don’t think they were rivals, whenever people bring this situation up a lot of people do defend it by saying this was planned.
@@kimkardashianlostearring5277 Oh, thanks for the reply! In fact, I'm also thinking more about planning, because Shalom is too chic to hurt anyone on purpose
I remember I was a child watching those magazines and dreaming about become that beautiful when I grow up. And after so many years I still watching them and dreaming the same 😂
Me too 😊
you are both beautiful!! 🥰
Lol I watched this and realized I never grew out my awe over the stunning beauty of this era of supermodels. I'd look through magazines and dream of looking like Helena Christianson lol. A girl can dream
You’ll get there
You are
OMG! real models, not photoshopped, filtered IG girls
And with REAL bodies 😫 Butt shots/implants were unheard of.
Or fake butts.. 😂👏🏻
who cares 🤷🏽♀️ who cares what girls decide to do with their own bodies. mind your own business.
They’re just complimenting how natural the models are compared to the models of today calm your implants
@@stvliana1107 🤣🤣🤣
this type of fashion is elegant, classy, unique and timeless. 90s high-fashion cannot be outdone😊
I loved the 90s clothes
Actually fit a women’s body!
I was just gonna say the tailoring is beautiful 😻😻
It actually looks like 50's & 60's more.
the shoes look exactly like the valentino studded sandals of today its insane
exactly that's what i noticed 😉
I think they are Valentino! I checked so many pictures from 1995 with Versace shoes and the rock studs don’t appear anywhere. What would have been the relationship between the two designers for that to happen!?!
Giaomgia Valentino inspires on Versace’s shoes years later and just added the studs
I thought the same thing!
Versace 1995 - smiling faces, healthy bodies and clothes that women could actually wear
Versace 2021 - superskinny models, enormously high heels and crazy outfits that nobody would actually wear outside
Stop talking about people's bodies like that and go study a little fashion, there are reasons for those clothes to be "exaggerated" like that
Models in 1995 were superskinny too
you know that’s the whole point of haute couture? theyre supposed to be statement pieces, fashion that pushes the boundaries. designers have ready to wear collections for a reason.
WAIT STOP❤️✝️JESUS DIED FOR U✝️❤️PLEASE TURN TO JESUS BEFORE ITS TOO LATE✝️❤️Jesus loves u so much!
I agree to a certain extent. The modes then were still very thin. But ever since he died the brand has never been the same I will say that
Wooahhh, each one of them looked breathtaking ❤️🔥. Noticed the claps for Yasmeen Ghauri? TRUE ICON👸✨ and ommmggg Shalom the woman you are!! ❤️
Everything about these models are perfect. You literally can't find something bad to say about them. The outfit, the style, the makeup, the vibe, the emotions, their walk, their perfect face and body, literally the only way you can describe it is perfection. They're so gorgeous.
On the outside, and while modeling yes, all good. Back stage or inside... mental health issues, drugs, anorexia/bulimia, and those who shall not be named and are well known for only marrying wealthy old men.
@@veronicaalmeda8014 At least they are women. The same now but nothing but woke idiots that make everything about themselves and their stupid pronouns and race garbage. In the 90's there was none of that. Everyone was happy and full of joy and ease. Life was a pleasure. This is literally hell. The internet was a blast too.
I have nothing good to say about any of it
RIP Gianni!!!! And I really miss those models, they were more “femme fatale”. I was born in 1994
I'm also a 1994 and I was so inspired and wished to grow up and be like one of those ladies one day 🤩 Now there is too little feminine and gracious fashion on catwalks
@@lianasharonova5595 girls, 94 here too! The only thing that left is Anna from the School of affluence 😅🌹
Anastasia Stuart agreed, also a 1994 baby
Not to rain on your parades but if you were born in 94 then you were way to young to actually "miss" these models. Lol you wouldn't have known they existed in their prime.
I guess thr correct word would be "admire".
@@MM-yb2fy Yes, actually something between that! Of course we admire them! 🌿💟
the clothes were tailored so well, excellent quality. i want this level of attention detail and craft to come back to modern clothing.
@TTFPouyi the technique, love. the cut of the fabric, etc. i want my clothes to be beautiful on the inside too.
Its incredivñe that level of models. Versace paid a loooot of money to do that. Its was the golden age of models and 70% of best ones are there
Having just watched the Versace spring 2023 fashion show, a few things strike me about this.
The clothes were wonderful, the models pretty much ended with this era, in terms of beauty, personality and good energy. This makes me miss that era even more.
А в 1995 году был ещё жив Джанни .
I can’t help coming back to this gorgeous show…beautiful era + timeless clothes…
I was a teenager in 95 and people complained about how too skinny all the models were back then as well. (:
Agreed. Fashion made by people who hate women.
Naomi always looks so good
Naomi the best!!!
When models were models ( and muses) and designers were artists...thank heavens for UA-cam. This is a breathtaking collection. Oh boy.
These models are literally the definition of ideal woman; tall, skinny, pretty, put together, clear skin.
