FYI for jacking up the rear go to harbor freight and grab a 10” or 12” drop hitch works great. Plus no more sketchy blocks of wood. Great video ready for some SVC parts for my new 2022 Raptor I ordered last week.
Damn. That’s a crazy drop. What is that for? Bro trucks?
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad jack from the bottom of the hitch. That’s all I use it for just installing leaf springs. Safest way to droop your suspension in the rear.
When I do leaf springs I have 2 massive jacks I use. Just off the jack, even with an extended one gets sketchy with the droop these trucks have
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad I sure do wish I could afford a shop with a lift.
You and me both!! A lift would make things so much easier. Goals for sure
Props to SVC for killin it!
Great job glad there’s a good company taking care of you
Why you gotta post the video of you spanking me at 100 MPH... Next time Im putting it in Sport Mode...lol... Great vid man, see ya on the next one
🤣🤣🤣 you beat me off the line 🤷♂️
You are going to love the truck soo much more when you get it all dialed in. Especially if you got a tune sesh on the shocks. 👌🏼 love the content on this truck.
Thanks man. And I totally agree. We just got back from a tuning session with SVC and got a little more performance out of the truck and we’re blown away by its capabilities. Once we finish out new chase rack and have full weight, we are going to invest in a proper tuning session on the trails with one of the local tuners
SVC seems like a great company! Good to know. Love the channel. 1st time viewer.
They really are man. In the last I’ve been very critical of them. And I still think there are better gear out there. BUT, their stuff works and they have THE BEST customer service in the industry.
Got my gen1 shocks rebuilt by ONYX a couple weeks back... one day turnaround. #done
Yeah man. He’s awesome and only shop that does that.
Thanks for all the good info I have a gen 1 raptor. I hope to put a mid travel kit on it one day.
DefiniTely worth it man.
Much helpful brother..thanks
Wow…great information. 👍🏽
Thanks man.
This is just so crazy how much your suspension has haunted you guys! I just wished you guys could convince my dad to Rebuild the rear shocks on our Gen1 Raptor, since we already rebuilt the front ones and they were done at 66,900 Miles, The rear right now has 68,580 Miles, so it's very much needed.
Show him this video man. A rebuilt is cheaper than replacement. Eventually the shocks corrode and get damaged enough that the o Lu option is replacement
Once again awesome video!
Thanks man.
great video brother , chin up . now to find some one in New England to rebuild my Icon's .
Good luck. Not many on the east coast. You may have to shop them to Texas or Cali to get a good rebuild
Great info there dude.
Thanks man.
Great video
Thanks
great video again!
Thanks man
Elliot at oynx is the fuckin man!🤘
You know what King? .. I'll stick to my stock suspension, thanks for the video really informative
Don’t blame you. From a cost and extra maintenance perspective stock is better. But the capabilities of this suspension is something else
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad After the little bit of tuning you just had with SVC, What are your thoughts on the sdi eclick now?
Eclick is BY FAR the best bang for you buck in terms of capabilities without a doubt.
It’s literally an 1/8 of the cost that it takes to go to mid travel. And yes mid travel can handle the whoops better and it’s more capable, but the extra cost is almost not worth it when compared to how much those shocks change the truck.
Lime green!
Great video, happy to see the kinks getting worked out!
Real quick, if you’re free Saturday 11/6/21, come out to Barstow, CA off outlet center drive exit. Our annual desert cleanup is planned and we have over $10,000 in product/gift cards to raffle off after lunch. So far have over 400+ signed up and it’ll be a huge event. Bring the truck and come hang out with likeminded desert people. Sign ups start at 7am. Raffle at 2pm. Whole event is free.
Thanks man. I need to make it to one of those. Wish they did those more often and to more places. Barstow is pretty trashed but not the only place.
Beautiful truck I'm curious about what front bumper do u
We have a whole video on the front bumper. Forget which one in the rehab series it is, but it’s custom from Hanna Race and design
For the rear jack lift, buy a drop mount receiver hitch like a B&W Stow and Go (I have the 2-5/16 pintle) and use that as the jacking point with it pinned correctly.
I have one from a previous tow rig I had. Still would rather use the curb.
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad Use the curb, ditch the wood...
Man so much bad luck with suspensions but you're on track. Gen 1 looks 😎
Just sold my gen 2 raptor 😭😭. Damn this market!
YeH, it’s all over the place.
If I ever get a raptor or the broaden their vehicle suppose I'm going @SVC
Their customer service makes them stand out for sure man.
I want a Raptor just so I can work with SVC
They also work on the new broncos
Is there a way to buy the stock entended axle shafts separate ? Or put together from svc ?
Really don’t want to spend the 3k on rcv lol
Yep, that’s what I did. Just give them a call and they can get your a quote.
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad would I just ask for an extended axle shaft matching the mid travel rcv length ?
Sorry for all the questions
They sell the extended axles for their mid travel on their site. If you just need that, you only need to check their site. If you want completely extended axles with stock ends, you need to call them up
For the future, you don’t have to dick around with draining and filling the nitrogen to get the rear shocks off… just fully droop out the axle, bolt the shock to the lower shock mount, and have someone shove down compress the shock with their body weight in order to line the eyelet up with the upper mount…it’s a pain in the ass but it’s doable. I have svc’s bypass rack on my raptor and have pulled the shocks off/reinstalled them a couple times by myself
To say I learned a lot is an understatement! Question, knowing what you know now about the truck would you have run away?
YES!!!! yes I would have ran.
I would have waited to find a better truck or negotiated the price much lower. Cost breakdown video will be coming up once she’s all done
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad well as much as I hate to hear all the trouble you are finding, I am enjoying your project for sure. Just learning a lot about the whole process and what it entails, the what to do and definitely what not to do! Keep the video’s coming Helio!
Thanks man.
Which schrader gauge are you using to measure shock pressure ?
I’m using the RPG guage.
Leadnav map video would be dope I have it and know how to stay on the red line that’s about it lol
Planning on it.
I have 2 really old videos on the channel but need to remake them based on the most common questions we’ve gotten. So it’s on the list
The 3.0 is based off the 2.7l which is a better design than the 3.5.
Good to know, but what about all the issues the 2.7 has recently had in the bronco? What’s different in the bronco motor not in the F150 motor
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad Idk what they changed, but I heard the dropped valve issues is a supplier issue. Oh and also the 3.0 has an aluminum block instead of the CGI like the 2.7 in the trucks
Are those juat regular gen 1 front fenders?
No. Those are ADV +2 fenders.
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad ok thanks! So that makes it 2+ inches bigger than a stock one
+2 means 2 inches wider and 2 inches taller than stock.
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad thank you!
Damn man
Yeah, it sucks, but she’s rolling and off-roading now.
Ewwwww, Lime Green. Looks good anyways. Great advise too!
🤣🤣 thanks man.
Add a cage if your jumping the truck. Safety first.
🤣🤣🤣 we barely jump the truck intentionally . Like once a year maybe, and even then it’s mild. I’m not a cage guy. The extra noise, rattling, and changes required are not for me. I would rather drive slower and have some comfort. Too old for all that uncomfortable stuff.
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
The prior owner was a mouth breathing cousin loving Chad
🤣🤣🤣 just a typical guy with too much money and not enough sense.
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad Ohio...enough said lol
🤣🤣🤣
Your more of a man than me for doing all that work, I’ll hit you up on a Instagram, When you go out
Nah man. I’m just on a budget and I want to be ready for shit going sideways on the trails. The more familiar I am with the suspension, the easier we can come up with a fix and get home
That’s true, always got to get home
All your troubles make for good entertainment for me. No offense, just crazy all the troubles you’ve gone through.
🤣🤣🤷♂️ many go thru all this crap. Just very few document it. At the end of the day all of this is for fun so no worries man.
24:15 I think it’s cursed.
Shocks on this truck were definitely cursed
Por Casualidad Ablas Español ???
I do, but not so good at typing it.
Looks like “Roosh” is going to make Motor Trends “Truck of the Year!” 😎🛻 … I’m really trying to believe the auto dealership in Ohio didn’t have a clue about this truck in their inventory? 🙄
It was a consignment truck. Owner has gotten a bunch of vehicles from them so they kind of trust him. 🤷♂️
10-15k on shock absorbers??? i dont understand why people do that and not keep OEM quality and get rockauto prices
🤣🤣 sounds like you have not driven fast offroad. It’s very different than rock crawling and it’s very addictive. Whats your current rig?
What a nightmare. Should have just gone TRX.
You should see what this Gen1 is capable of man. I did some trails this weekend I normally avoid because they are so slow in a stock raptor. The Gen1 with mid travel just sailed over it. No one yet makes any decent suspension setups for a TRX. And the cost would be crazy high to match this truck. The rehab is so worth it.
Please tell me you are not a desk jockey but a mechanic.
Lol. Not a mechanic.
I ride a desk all week. 🤷♂️
😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳
SVC did that only
For you . Only cause your have a audience
There is some truth it that yeah. But not completely. I still had to pay out of pocket for a lot. And They have been trying to fix the truck for years. This is literally tracked down all the trucks that guy built and fixed them and this was the last one. The previous owner did not want to ship it. All those guys that had trucks built by this one guy had their trucks repaired under warranty without any publicity man. That tells you something is different here. They do have better customer service than most other shops.
Spend a lot on garbage, I don't trust with that equipment to run 1000 miles across the desert. OEM stuff are best than "performance" parts.
🤣🤣🤣 that’s funny man. Really funny
Great video
Thanks 🙏
