Fine work. I make my own as well, and have been using "double" hooks instead of trebles. Been fishing 60 years and have damaged too many fish with trebles trying to unhook them (especially pike). The doubles seem just as effective at catching, and the problem of driving one barb deeper while removing the other two (or vise versa) is gone, resulting in a quicker release and less damage to the fish.

My 10 year old son and I would love to try to make lures! I have no knowledge about fishing but he’s fallen in love with being on the water and woodwork. I’m going to save this and try some stuff out with him!

Hey man this was great, I’ve made a few wooden bass lures and that worked good but nothing like this I can’t wait to try it . And for those of you who haven’t, there is a wonderful satisfaction from catching a fish off something you made

With as thin as the brass is, you could just use the wood as a mold in the vice to bend it. No need to melt plastic, or pour molten metal.....just use a piece of wood after you shape it.

The tree is no good, checked!
and plastic is enough for thousands of blanks

Use 3d modelling software to make blueprints for cnc laser. Then presicion cut as many as you like in seconds.
You could also 3d print the mold in any shape you can imagine.
