I loved Venture. That was the only one I had back in the day. I think I've only acquired the worst ones since then: Carnival, DK & DK Jr.. I'll have to look for Ladybug and A Better Mouse Trap
I never really cared for the coleco games for Intellivision as i felt they were below par compared to the Imagic & Activision games. Good ranking though Pete!
Venture on Intellivision is excellent. IMO one of the two best classic arcade ports on the entire system right up there with CollectorVision's 2021 Homebrew release of GORF (And GORF Arcade on the 2600 is even better).
Good video! I have always liked Lady Bug, fun game! Someone made a home brew version for the Atari 2600 and it is really nice! I enjoyed your ranking the Coleco game for the Intellvison! Hope you will do more! Nice!
Thanks so much, Dane! I’ve never played the Atari Homebrew version, but heard great things about it on the Intarivisions Podcast. You should check it out. I’m sure you’d enjoy listening. I’ll be doing lots of rankings videos, too…they’re fun!!! Cheers! 👍🏻
Hey Papa Pete! Thanks for another great Intellivision video. Although I've owned most of the Coleco carts, it wasn't until this video that I finally saw Turbo. Interesting! Maybe I'll stick with Bump 'n Jump ;) Out of curiosity, is there an Intellivsion controller to USB connector you would recommend? There are a few versions out there and I would value your opinion. I'd love to use this setup instead of obtaining a demodulator and signal converter for my classic Inty and HDMI monitor. Thanks for your time, and for your great content. Please send my love to Cocoa!
I've always enjoyed the look of the packaging on the Intellivsion Coleco games but it's a shame how the boxes often had to be butchered in order to open them.
I seem to be the only person who liked Carnival. I played it in the arcade originally, and it's not that bad of a port to Intellivision, save for trying to line up your gun in the exact position to shoot the pipes.
Great ranking of my least favorite 3rd party game publisher for Intellivision, I was so happy that you put an F to Donkey Kong. this port made me so angry back then when I bought it !
Donkey Kong Was made intentionally crappy, it's Obvious. Donkey Kong Jr was Great for it's time, acceptable controls and at least they had the music right and had 3 boards, plus that glitch on the first board where you can go thru the platform at the top after grabbing a fruit was cool, a shortcut to finishing that board, the Home Brew Version is much better, very Arcade Quality in the game play department but the controlls are still kind of sloppy and a bit sluggish and laggey. Lady Bug is Great, should have been a S, Venture was good too, it was cool how it showed you your totals at the end of each level, a C because the control was kind of annoying especially trying to get past those moving walls in that one room. Turbo looked pretty good for it being on the Intellivision, they seemed to have all the stages, even has the Ambulance, but the control is what ruined it. The Music made Mouse Trap not as good of a game, the game play was pretty good, played pretty much like the Arcade but without the Overlays it's hard to play because you don't know which Keypad button to press the operate the gates, there is an option to turn off the music but it only lasts one board and when you clear a board the music comes back and you have to turn it off. Zaxxon was horrible but sucked slightly less that the atari version.Carnival was totally horrible because of the awful sluggish, jumpy controls and how it was frustrating to line up with the targets because of the jumpy cpntrols , the concept was great with the bonus shoot the bear screen that was not in the atari version but the controls destroyed any of that possible advantage over the atari version. Colecovision version is great, smooth responsive control and great multi part music.
I had an Intellivison, and these coleco games were steaming piles of trash, I vividly recall opening the donkey kong game at Xmas time, popping it in and being astonished at how utterly crappy it was. They should all be Fs.
Early morning gaming!
Papa Pete time is later than yours even lol
Damn right, Rev! 😊👍🏻
Good video Pete!
Thanks, Stacy! 👍🏻

Right on! We only had Donkey Kong when I was a kid. Phew!!! Watch the Intellivision Revolution store for “A Better Mousetrap.” 🤣👍🏻

Good ranking though Pete!
Thanks, Roger. I agree with your comparison, completely. They pale to the Activision & Imagic titles. 👍🏻

Right on, Keith. I can understand that opinion. They did a great job on the port. Thanks for watching! 👍🏻
I like this! Anything with lists or rankings!
Thanks!!! Lots more to come, PJ! 👍🏻

Oh, man! Great point, RBW! It was damn near impossible to open them without totally destroying the flap. Frustrating! 🤯👍🏻
Coleco's Donkey Kong for the Intellivision is an 8k ROM while the modern version is 56k. There was no chance that was every going to happen.
Right! 👍🏻
I seem to be the only person who liked Carnival. I played it in the arcade originally, and it's not that bad of a port to Intellivision, save for trying to line up your gun in the exact position to shoot the pipes.
And the music…don’t forget the music! 🤣👍🏻
@@PapaPete Yes, the music is irritating too. Fortunately, you can turn it off.

Nice summary, Dallas! We’re pretty similar in our assessments, Dallas. If the controls in Lady Bug were smoother, I’d have given it an “S” too! 👍🏻
Zaxxon isn't bad, it's just not Zaxxon
Well put…👍🏻
