This is excellent information. So good to know where the limits are so we can make the best call. I'll never want to drop my VB lower than one inch so now I know what size wheels and tires to get to avoid rubbing.

Honestly surprised more people don’t run 19’s on the VB. 18’s looked barely big enough on the VA. The VB being a chunkier car 18’s just look so small. I wanna see one done proper on 19’s

For the beginners looking for some advice, not all stated tire widths are equal. Many summer tires will run wider than others in the same stated width. For example the actual contact width of a 255 R888 will run wider than most 265 all season tires. You can dig a bit deeper and get truer width information from sites like Tire Rack when you drop down the technical specifications of the products.

Thanks for this video. I was thinking about going 18x9.5 +35. Matching to either 245/40 or 255/40. I saw you mentioned the 18x9.5 on +35 but your example was lowered and rubbing. My setup will remain unlowered and want the widest stance i can get with spacers without rub. and I am trying to figure out if both of these setups will clear without rubs and if so, what would be the recommended option of the 2? thoughts?

I think the VB community needed this video! I ordered my 18x9.5 +38 wheels on 265/35 18 on stock suspension. Not mad if I have to shave some. Now someone is selling 18x9.5 with 255/40/18 instead of 255/35/18 on the video. Do you think itll work when dropped 1.5”?
I’ve got some Enkei TS10’s that I got a dope deal on. 18x9.5 +35 offset with 265/35/18’s. Plan on snagging your 10mm flares and some 1” drop springs. My gut tells me this should be a clean set up without any shaving required.

I run 18x9.5 +38 wheels with 255/40-18 front and 295/35-18 rear RE-71RS on stock suspension... Perfect no problem ! Amazing on the road race track... The handling is sick !!!

The company that is making my custom offset wheels only has options for 19s on a 8.5” or 10” wide wheel! What would be your best recommendation for the wheel width and offset, along w tire size and width w no rubbing or shaving? Will be on coilovers and eventual 10 mm fender flares! Thanks
Hi Andy! If you plan to run a 19x10 i would stick to high offset close to 45-50 Offset with a 245/35 Tire!
What if you have Sti brakes or big brake kit are you going to have to run a bigger offset like a +50 to +55 and what tire size would you go with for a beefy set up on a 18x9.5

19x8.5 19x8 will work and look fine without lowering the car!

i run a 22 offset running lowered, i shaved my outer fender but still rubbing on dips. running on coilovers/no LCA for camber.
good to know that 18x9.5 +22 can work with minimal fender shaving.

18x9.5 + 35 but tires 245/40 tires.
So unless I misinterpreted something you can run the 18/9.5 +22 w/ a 245 40 18 without having to cut the body; or did you just cut into the body because you tried to run the 265 40/35 18 and couldnt even after cutting it and had to run the 245 on it? IF that is the case could you run that 245 without cutting the metal portion of the body? I dont mind cutting the plastic but the cutting the actual body is a hard pass.

225 tire is a bit too stretched on a 9.5. I wouldn't sacrifice that kind of safety in my opinion. But to answer your question you can do a 225 on a 9.5+22 with a 1" drop is okay. Any more you'll need to shave!

I need help. I have 18x9.5 +22 with 245/ 40 18 I have the front 1.4 / and rear 1.6 eibach sportline lowering springs that you recommend
if you are just running springs you probs wont be able to run that set up because if im not mistaken you have to run some camber on the front and you may need to run more camber on the back then what the springs will naturally cause with a that type of drop.
Anyone have any idea if we can tune our 2023 WRX with the 2022 Cobb OTS Maps? or do we need to wait until they release "2023 maps" Hell, will the 2022 accessport even work on the 2023's?

White is widely known for its difficulty in achieving a flawless match. The sole solution lies in incorporating the surrounding areas of the vehicle during the painting of the flares. Additionally, the bonding of plastic and metal is dissimilar, resulting in a minor distinction that is scarcely discernible!

I just received my set up of 18x9.5 255/40 with eibach sportline lowering springs which is said to lower the front 1.6” and 1.4” in the back. Does anyone run this same setup if so any rubbing issues?
