So Green River DIstilery was the 10th oldest distilery in Kentucky .. started in 1850's then it went under around the time of prohibition, and then came back as several changes of hands of the distilery site, then it was gone until around 2004 the distilery was rebuilt. They did a lot of sourcing(distiling for other on contract) and still do. they finaly came out with its bottle in 2016. it use to have the marketing slogan 'Whisky without headache' now it is ' whisky without reserve'.. it is a good buy for the money. They have expanded to 20 some states so it is growing.
I tried the regular Green River last year. I thought it tasted like a GREEN RIVER or, swamp. Bought the wheated two weeks ago and tonight I'm having my second pour. It smells pungent and tastes like spaghetti water. I am by no means an expert or seasoned veteran of whiskey/bourbon. I guess this just isn't the distillery for me.
I enjoy Green River, so I’m watching for this wheated. Great review as usual.

Great review. I realize price and proof differ, but another recent wheater release is the Bardstown Origin. If you have tried it, how do those two compare? Thanks!

Honestly, u think it's a nice comparison. I'm not in the game of telling you how to spend your money or if it's better, but I'll say it's a really nice little sipping wheated bourbon on par with the Rebel! Cheers 🥃
