I have had and finished both of these bottles. Both pretty friggin good for price. Old elk wheat options are 70-80$ for 5-6 yr and arguably not as good and double wheat is 100$!!! Two bardstown BIB… yessir!
Hey Matt, haven't seen a vid in a while but you are looking great since last one I did! Hope you feel great. Much love, just picked up a GR Wheated. Cheers
Just bought both of these bottles this past weekend - perfect timing for the video! Look forward to cracking them open this holiday weekend. Can’t wait for the madness finals - hardcore!
fun head to head. I keep hearing good things about green river. I really do enjoy the bardstown origin BIB. so now need to grab a bottle of green river.
I am watching after a very nice Russell's Reserve single barrel and while sipping a Henry McKenna with a barrel entry date of 10/08. I am glad your video is wheated 😊
That's exactly what I wanted to know. I have bardstown black label. But the finish is terrible. It's like white bread with butter and sugar delicious on the front then out of nowhere... Black pepper finish, and you left like "wtf just happened!!???"
Two Questions: 1. Where's YOUR Into The A.M. shirt?... And by 'yours" I of course mean, my idea... You know... The swirling rocks glass INSIDE of the head/skull thing? 🙂 2. Why are the names jumbled at the end now? It's hurting my Asperger's! 😆
I only like channels that pour whiskey with the true and proper care that the whiskey deserves, which is through a 50 year old funnel that was previously used for oil changes.
A guy here in the comments said he tried the Green River and it "came off very young" with "a lot of *cut grass flavor"* and another guy agreed, saying he got "the exact same notes." That's all I needed to hear. It's known that wheat needs longer in the barrel than rye. Green River is only four years old. And the first thing Matt said when he sipped Bardstown is that it's "more full-bodied." Mouthfeel is important.
MattMadness regret…I’m just glad Jason didn’t go all Hulkster on you guys when he THOUGHT he lost. Jason is an amazing whiskey taster but he’s got an edge to him…😅
@@ADHDWhiskey I hear people use it like that a lot. “Mano” means “hand”, and “y” means “and”. So when I hear “Mano y Mano”, it always brings to mind two big football players walking down the street holding hands. The real phrase is “Mano a Mano”, which is literally translated as “hand to hand”, as in hand to hand combat. Now that that is cleared up, next order of business…when can we have a drink together. If your videos are any indication, it would be 1000 laughs. Who knows…we might even walk “Mano y Mano”.
@@xiamengbaby Agreed. I saw it for $75 the other day, and that made me happy... because I got a good laugh. It might be worth $24. I'd have to try it in a blind with Green River Wheated and hell, even a Rebel 100 or even a Rebel 80 to see where I stand on it. Last time I had it, I was completely unimpressed.
@FakingANerve the Bourbon Junkies just did a blind of regular Maker's Mark, Larceny, Green River Wheated and Weller SR. They ended up putting Maker's #1, Weller #2, Green River #3, and Larceny in last. They said the Weller and Green River were close but different.
Got to try the green river wheated last week. It came off very young to me with a lot of cut grass flavor...not my jam, but lots of folks seem to dig it.

That long pour reminds me of me peeing at night everywhere but where i intended it to go.
This is the only whiskey channel that I watch the sponsor description and all of the closing remarks... Thanks WTWT!

Best long pourer in the game…nailed it
Friggin nailed the Cable guy reference
Some of us old combat vets are looking for hard stuff that gets the job done! Will hit the shop! Love you man!
🇺🇸🥃
Matt - Can you do a "Matt's top 3 highest rated bourbons, blinded" vid? Would love to see where your 'elite' palate is
I did enjoy the Green River Wheat. I havent had the Bardstown yet, I will be looking for that bottle
Really enjoyed the GR
You sure nailed that Green River Wheated Bourbon pour. 🫣 Like both bottles. 🥃

Wow 50k soon that’s so awesome! Thought you’d already be at 100k
Good review. Both are solid pours. Need to try again to see if I get the grapefruit note.
The 50 Cent Many Men drop pretty epic Matt
Almost same in score but $15 a bottle difference, based on his pallet why buy the more costly 1

Nearly to 50K! If you’re watching and reading this, and you’re not subscribed, HOW DARE YOU. Fix it, now.
Thank you!
Bourbon skirmish is the most violent series on UA-cam, and that includes UFC

wow can't wait for the 50K party
Hey Matt! Didn't confuse me ... Just for the record
I wonder how many people got 50 reference...🤔

I hit the subscribe button like 100 times so now you're way closer to 50k.
Peach tea, that's the note, peach tea on the Bardstown wheater.

You need to go sit in time out and think about your actions for that green river pour
BTW, you sounded good in your JD podcast.
So, I'm thinking the point and a half is not worth 15 dollars?

I totally agree with your assessment here .both are good with the bardstown being slightly better. Overall both decent enough bourbon for the $ .
Like the shirt.

Oh my gosh your hands are massive.
I have not watched the video.
2:38 it's not even funny at this point
Great video, as always. But you’ll have to admit you don’t know what “Mano y Mano” means.
No clue

Weller SR at $24 is still the best wheater for the money.
I saw Weller SR the other day for $60. That's not the best wheater for the money.

I got the same exact notes. GR's non wheated is much better.
