Thank you for this (so much easier than the E90). One question, when removing the door handle, does the lock remain attached to the internals (meaning I won't have to move the lock as it were to the new handle). Thanks again.
i'm so confused. i'm having a hard time tightening the handle back. the handle goes in , but it seems as if the screw wont move? it's frozen or something? is there a lock or something i'm forgetting? taking the handles out was as simple as loosening the T15 screw, pulling the handle out, and unplugging connectors.
If you take the handle out and look inside the area where the tab is that is closest to the screw, there is a slot for the plastic tab. I suspect you don't have it properly slotted and therefore can't tighten the screw. I no longer have this vehicle.
@@simpleinseattle thank u, got it , turned out my sh*t tool wasn't able to fit in properly in the slot. stopped at Harbor Freight and got the proper tool for 7.99. peace and blessings from Chicago brotherman :). thanks again
Thanks. I have banana fingers, so manipulating the torx driver isn't that easy for me. Plus, I don't know what size. I used a 5,6,8,10, and 20 but none of those seemed to work (although it could be due to my aforementioned banana fingers).
@@pelonzavala9169 it didn't work for lock or unlock. It wasn't the actuator solenoid but the touch sensor. It also can blow a 5a fuse if the handle shorts that can affect multiple systems or drain battery.
Comfort access is not working on the passenger door for me and also locking and unlocking that door doesn't work from the remote. The guys from the service say they see errors in the handle which make sense since the comfort access doesn't work, but could this problem be causing the lock/unlock not to work from the remote as well? What do you think? Also I get battery discharging while stationary warning every morning.
The not unlocking from remote is interesting. You could disconnect the handle altogether. I have seen comments that the actuator can go which will cause your symptoms. You can always disconnect the comfort access handle wiring to see. The opening mechanism via remote and the comfort access are two separate systems. On a side note, your battery sounds shot. You may want to get it replaced. Low battery itself can cause a lot of weird issues.

You probably got it sorted by now but if not, it's a t15 torx screw
Hei did you have to code the handle again after the replacement?
No coding required
@@simpleinseattle did you replaced it because it didn't rear the finger for lock and unlock

@@simpleinseattle thank you my fuse is good so I'm guessing is the touch sensor at the handle

Did the faulty handle cause the fuse blow?
No. The wires had been cut. I have heard of it draining thr battery though.
Yes. It will cause the #2 fuse to pop and all hell breaks loose!
@@simpleinseattle same thing going on with mine..got to replacement front and back left side..hope it works
