In case anyone is interested. The removal procedure for the front door is the same as shown here for the rear. The difference is that there is no shade so those steps are ignored. There's 1 more T30 behind the wood trim and the tweeter needs to be removed first and is just held on with some pressure. Easy to pry off. Thanks a lot for the video dude
Despite being an older video, I thought I would comment on the first step; the removal of the plastic pin. The proper way is NOT to try to pull the pin out from the bottom, this is extremely difficult to do and can easily lead to damaging the pin or upholstery. The proper way is to gently push the pin up so it clears the trim. The remove the trim as per the video. Once off, pull out the pin from the inside and set it aside; it is only reinserted until flush, from the bottom, ONCE the trim has been reinstalled. (Think of it as a one way pin, only pushed up, never pulled out.)
Per original guide, pushing up can get the pin stuck and preventing the trim removal or braking it. Yes pushing in is way easier but also comes with a risk
Thank you for your videos, came here from your blower video. I'm planning for f02 740li, hope to learn more from you. Thank you for your time and effort.
Can you tell me how to get the ashtray door of that rear panel to stay closed? Great video on how to remove the door panel.. just not quite what I needed, but good to know
You dont have to remove door to fix ashtrey it just pops out with switch unplug electric. Theres a little silver pin that gets loose on ashtray. I just pushed in pin with a tiny nail than put a couple daps of super glue on pin to keep it from sliding back. Ashtray is fixed..
I have the same problem. The shade of the back door left dont working more.. 2 others shade are working.. its a car of 11 year old i know 11 year is much but.. my opinion bmw is not a good quality. On my f01 with 202000km i have always somethings that goign wrong / defect.. and early i had diferent bmw, and it was also somethings wrong (e70/ e61 / f10 / e65 ) . With some another brand of car, you can have a 15 year old car with no much problem in all his 15 year ..
Excellent video. Thanks. I was thinking once you removed the door panel, where’s the airbag, or is that above the door (curtain)? There must be some tips about working around the areas where airbags occupy...or does it simply not matter!
Its removed the same way, just without the door shade steps and has 1 extra t30 screw behind the wood trim. Will also have to pop off the tweeter which is just pressure clipped on. So a nice pry with a plastic tool
For the window/blind control where they ash tray is... To replace that do I have to remove the door? Or does that clip into place and can be done without taking the door pannel off?
I have the exact year with a similar problem that just happened, like 10 minutes ago. The receiver tab on the right side appears to be going up and down the track, but the receiver on the left side is not. Did you ever resolve this? What did it run you?

On my f02 you have to literally sit in the seat for the ashtray to close. Crazy as it sounds I think it’s motion sensor
