They need their next version of the Ps5 to show off unique features like full out backwards compatibility and the new Psp feature to be similar to the Nintendo Switch.

My son and myself are unable to share screenshots taken with our PS5’s. I’ve called Sony previously about this and I’ve received zero help. Anyone here know what may cause this? I’ve checked all of the appropriate settings. Sony was no help at all.

I can't wait to play Gears of War E-Day, I enjoyed the original trilogy and always wanted to experience the fateful day.
Not as bothered about ps2 stuff would be so much better if we could have the ps3 games available, why can that be so hard to do for a console like the ps5.
The architecture of the ps3 makes it hard to do but mainly expensive. Kinda like how gta4 had amazing physics and GtaV just uses modified physics to mimic the euphoria engine. Its a cost/resources/licensing type of thing
Agree completely. Was also pissed that if a proper PS2 emulator is up and working, why can't we use our discs at this point. It's fucking lazy bullshit that we don't have a fully backwards compatible PS console by now, other than the early PS3. Hoping with the new shift in leadership we get it with the PS6. People need to keep demanding it from Sony or it'll never happen.

I don't think it's fair to compare a Playstation State of Play to an Xbox showcase. They're totally different things. Also even with Xbox having done a full showcase it was a bit lack luster because there wasn't anything really worth looking at that was Xbox exclusive as most everything is going cross platform. During the showcase itself, Sony made announcements confirming everything that was also coming to Playstation. They obviously knew ahead of time but weren't allowed to include it in their state of play because it was cross platform stuff where Xbox is acting as a third party dev. Itd have looked horrible on Xbox if Sony had made all those announcements first lol. People just think the Xbox one was better because they were the ones doing the announcements when in reality all they announced was their role as a third party dev. I don't get the fuss.

I did see that Xbox showcase and I’m sorry I’m a PlayStation fan but that showcase blow Sony out the window and made me look at that $450 series X digital edition for the holidays beside my PlayStation pro. 😅😂
The showcase definitely showed great games which more than half already confirmed for PS5 and Sony hasn't really shown their hand yet to compare.

My guess is that Indiana Jones, Starfield, Hellblade 2 at least will be coming to PS5 within the next year.
Indiana Jones , Expedition 33 , and MGS3 were the best games of the show imo. Definitely changed my mind about Indiana Jones , I still prefer 3rd person but that was genuinely entertaining to watch , both gameplay and story look truly exciting and made me care , laugh etc.

We need the big show cause Sony really needs to hit hard with the first party games and the Playstation 5 pro. I also remember from moore's law is dead video that AMD got the contract for the playstation 6.
Looks like I'll be buying Tomb Raider Legend again. It's the game that got me into the franchise.
It's pretty much the definitive version aswell. The PS2 version is different to the 360 and PS3 ports. It has things better than them and some things in the 360/PS3 port are better than the PS2 version. But the PS2 version has has a few things that are better as a whole. Some character models are completely different and the art direction is different in places, environments you name it. There are comparisons out there.

Hopefully you can read and appreciate my comment and thoughts on the PS6 since I know you're also passionate about Playstation as well. So, I adore the PS5 and absolutely LOVE what Cerny(that man is a genius, love him) and his team have done with pushing blazing fast SSD speeds and finally getting rid of problematic i/o bottlenecks as main highlights of the consoles capabilities with helping developers being able to be more creative with their games for this generation. I am fascinated with video games technology and am always excited for the future and what we can get as video gamers in our experiences as well!
For the PS6, going off of rumors and the Microsoft/Activision leaks, it definitely seems plausible for a 2028 release, 2027 absolute earliest. I also equate this to AMD's timelines for their products which is 99% guaranteed to power the PS6. It seems imo that this year we are getting the RDNA 4 GPU's, which will not have a flagship GPU to compete against Nvidia's RTX 5090 due to AMD wanting to focus on upgraded mid-tier GPU's instead(lower cost than a flagship GPU) improving upon the base tech in RDNA 3(which I think is a smart and conscious business move). But the EXCITING part is that RDNA 5 should be coming out late 2025 next year(only 1 year instead of the average 2) from RDNA 4, and RDNA 5 is going to be completely new ground-base architecture for AMD to build upon for the next decade or so. I can imagine 2 years after RDNA 5 releases in 2025 will be RDNA 6 which will take that new RDNA 5 base and greatly improve upon it, and THAT will be what Cerny and Sony will want to power the GPU aspect of the PS6, which should be on a 2nm chip(3-4x improvement compared to PS5's 7nm) and might be 2.5/3D stacked which will greatly allow for fast i/o through puts and major improvements to bandwidth capabilities. I am also sure that there will be separate cores dedicated to programming for Ai language for developers that want to implement Ai into their video games(like talking back to NPC's, allowing replayability, etc.) as well as PS6 wanting their own proprietary upscaling tech(like FSR or DLSS) while also allowing for the latest versions of FSR from AMD to keep incredible graphical quality while improving performance/FPS.
NOW, my hope and dream for the CPU aspect of the PS6 is Cerny going back to the PS3 route and creating a multi-chiplet CPU, similar to "the Cell" processor in the PS3. Now the cell was EXTREMELY difficult for developers to understand and develope for and it created a massive problems with 3rd party studios making games for PS3. However, I saw a patent for AMD for their CPU(most likely in Zen 6 which might launch either 2025 if not 2026) where essentially it is a multi-chiplet design that can function independently OR can all function as one CPU unit. THIS THIS THIS!!! Would be incredible if they could do a next-gen CPU tech where it can do so many different functions to improve physics, Ai, 3-D volumetric special effects, etc. when programming for each individual core, but if 3rd party developers cannot grasp this and struggle, they could opt in to have all the cores function as one CPU, so that way we get the best of both worlds for PS6, incredible next-gen experiences from Sony's 1st party studios, and 3rd party studios can still get a next-gen CPU to work with without having to develop for each core, etc.
I am expecting 60 FPS native 4k to finally become the norm, as well as path-tracing capabilities with upscaling tech, solutions to implementing 3-D volumetric effects(like 3-d smoke, fire, etc.), real-time dynamic fluid simulations, and greatly improved Ai capabilities and big open worlds that don't just look pretty but are FILLED with life and immersion! Let me know your thoughts! :D

I watched the xbox showcase. It was excellent but a lot of people are comparing xbox's showcase to sony's state of play. I believe sony will have a showcase this year sometime in September and show off their 1st party games and the ps5 pro

It worked for Xbox 360 In 05 to blitz 7th gen well before everyone else was ready. I personally wish PS6 would drop around summer 2026 , a year and a half ahead of when 10th gen is expected to start , I'm sick of 7 and 8 year generations that's just too long , especially given the minimal leaps we have nowdays. Modern consoles feel like they arrive already tapped out or struggling at launch , so for me 5 and a half to 6 years max is the Ideal sweet spot. Games also need to be shorter/smaller scale and cost less while still being AAA/AA production , then we wouldn't have all this drought and waiting , the Industry would feel like It's always moving forward at a fast pace Instead of greedy and stagnant milking everything to death.

I thought Sony's showcase had a more diverse slate of games, but Xbox had more games that interested me (even if they were mostly AA Game Pass fodder). For me personally, I am most excited for the Silent Hill 2 remake. Next on my list would be Indiana Jones, but seeing as it's not coming to my platform of choice, I'll give it a pass.

I saw their showcase, it was good, but a lot of what they showed were multiplats and many of their exclusives are not coming until 2025, and if Phil spencer keep bringing more xbox games on PS5, then that means more multiplats and less exclusives. As for the PS6, if it comes around 2027-2028, that will be fine by me, new consoles come and go, so that its inevitable.
PS5 life cycle suggests that the most probable release date for the PS6 could be November 2028
