Specifically for my local course, 100% of my approach shots hit the green or are in a (deep) green side bunker / within 20 yards over bunker.
I have a 72 with some bounce, it's just way more reliable (directionally) than opening my 60.
    There isn't a full shot I'd ever play with a 60.
Clearly I don't have your short game, but I'm single digit and Ieave the 60 at home and take my 72.
Fwiw, a 3/4 swing from a bunker is 8-10 yards, a full is 15-20. Very handy club tbh.
I was 14 handicap, swapped the 60 out and now single.
These are $50 clubs. If, like mine and your course has 18/18 holes with greenside bunkers, spend 30 minutes practicing, give it a go for 3-4 rounds.

That's so true about full shots with a 60. I don't think I've ever hit a full shot with my Lob wedge. If I do have a 60-70yard shot, I either take some off my sand wedge or approach wedge. So there's really no circumstance I would hit a full shot with my Lob wedge. I should get a 72 or 74 and try it out

There is more variance in hitting 72 degree wedge, especially in long distance shots. That's why you never hit full swing with 72 degree wedge, in order to benefit from the bias-variance tradeoffs.

Nice review. I own a full set from 52 to 72 for fun but with a wide flange and 16 bounce. The 72 is great for practice: as you learn to this and you never doubt a wedge shot again. Think of Hovland's chipping woes; the 72 will punish immediately when swung badly. Due to practice I added the 64 to my regular wedge set up.

I have a 68 and honestly for chip shots within 20 yards of the green its perfect, especially when the hole is on hill and I don't want to overun the green and go off the backside.

Have a wilson staff 64 and whilst it's an extraordinary club out of very difficult spots or severe slopes, have to be very careful with it. But this wedge, wow a serious weapon but in the right hands like Mr shortgame here,an accomplished golfer of high class

60* with 8* of bounce is about as aggressive as I can handle...and thats around the greens. I wouldnt want to take many full wedge swings with that even.

    I absolutely love my 68⁰...
    I carry a 68⁰... 60⁰... 54⁰... 48⁰...
I full stroke (giggity) my 68⁰ 52yds... reliably.
I can baseball swing my 68⁰... 52yds... it just goes higher.
Probably my most reliable club, right after my driver.

I have one that is 70. I learned to bounce a ball off of it, because a full swing went like a half swing. 20 yards.

Get s variety of bounces in your wedges. My 54 has low bounce so i can open the face and play a variety of shots. My 58 has way more bounce for the rough and sand. Make sure each golf club in your bag serves a purpose.

I have a 72....but I know it only has very limited use. Maybe trying to clear a bunker....with a blatant lob. 60 is much more useful....especially when chipping onto fast or sloped greens.

Well I have a 70 degree wedge and I have no problems with using it around the green, and it is really great for getting over green side bunkers and checking up very quickly and also take a much bigger swing. My friend had one of these before I bought mine, so I really liked his 70 degree wedge.
Just practice with the 70 degree wedge and get used to what it does and how to swing at the ball.
Note: I have all the other standard wedges and use them along with this 70 degree wedge.
It is kind of a specialty type of shot and works very well for me. The only thing I find is when I get under the ball too much, it will go straight up in the air, or can act like a missed shot and not move the ball at all.
I find it to be a fun club to have in my bag. End of story.

I have a 68 degree Final Wedge without bounce, very much like this. I carried it in the bag when I first got it, and did have one time that I was in a bunker right up against the lip and I was able to stand outside the bumker and pop it straight up on to the green.

I'm going to put a 62º in my bag, so I'll have 5 wedges, 46º,50º,54º,58º and 62º, I'll drop my 5 wood, only use it once or twice a year, with the 62 I'll use it when short sided around the greens and bunkers, I used to have a 64 bent to 67, which was fantastic when I lived in Melbourne playing the sandbelt courses

I played a 70-degree wedge and it was a waste of time. (And I'm a very good wedge player.) I've even put my 64-degree away for good, opting for the 60-degree instead. Why? It's more versatile. I can hit it square or opened up. Open up those extreme wedges and you get almost no turf interaction--just chunk.
