DIY Mazda CX-9 Mass Airflow (MAF) Sensor Cleaning 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020

How to clean the Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor on a 2019 Mazda CX-9 with CRC MAF Cleaner. Procedure will be the same on any MAF sensor on any vehicle, but placement is specific to the 2nd gen Mazda CX-9.

I drove through highwater in my Infiniti G35X & hydroloked my engine & the next day it blew. I replaced the engine but for some reason the engine kept going into limp mode. The dealer couldn't figure it out so I went online & figured it was dirty MAF sensors and they told me they dont clean MAF sensors so I drove the car off their lot. Parked & cleaned them like this & it ran perfect 👍

Does it get better gas mileage after that cleaning? My 2013 CX9 is lately getting AWFUL MPG at around 14 MPG, I'm super worried about this. more now that the gas is getting so expensive.

It should help your computer to read the real air flow, so the gas ratio will be in spec.
It will not hurt for sure on gas milleage, and it's pretty ez and quick to do.

It definitely won't hurt. I average around 22 mpg.
