    Im very interested in getting this over the rabbit hole cob pro tune cause its my daily and im not super psyched about added headaches and possible problems. The ford performance tune seems safer and more conservative and those numbers are far better than what i expected tbh. I really want to get this now, and i have a roush CAI and ETS intercooler

      @BrayZap Unfortunately, this is not the case. When you load the file, even when making a backup, it locks your PCM. I took mine to the dealer and they would not touch it for insurance reasons. That's why I went to a Ford Performance authorized center, Galpin Auto Sports in LA. They were able to loaf a factory Tune file using 'As Built' data, basically resetting the PCM. After that I was able to load my Cobb base map.

      Please take in to consideration that the Dyno test was supposed to be done in 7th gear as I have an automatic 10 speed. I will be getting it done again. However, with that being said. I am making 13.3 in the 1/4 mile which tells me that those numbers are probably not far off. I go over all of my mods in this video. I have the CV Fab Race IC, Ford Performance Tune with K & N Filter, Airaid Intake Tube, NGK Iridium one step colder Spark Plugs, UPR Dual Valve Catch Can, BMR Lockout Kit. I also did the EVAP Purge Valve and Low Fuel Pressure Sensor replacement. Most of these have been documented in my videos, but the UPR catch can, Airaid Intake Tube and Tune were done prior to me starting my channel. I have a Performance Pack with Premium 200A Trim. Mine does not have the Magna Ride, but I do have Active Exhaust and I think it sounds way better than stock and probably better than most after market exhausts as well.

Also where did you get it from? im thinking about ordering it from american muscle. thanks a lot.

      @mustangmodsecoboostgarage6539  3 роки тому

      I purchased mine from LMR for $450. The price has gone up since then, but still cheaper than other places. I installed mine myself, but in order to gain the benefit of the warranty that comes with it, you will need to have it installed by a dealer or an ASE Certified Mechanic to register the warranty. If you already have had your car for 2 and half years then your warranty is probably close to being up as this only covers for the first 36k miles. With that said, you may be better served getting a Cobb AP and a Pro Tune. DO NOT use the OTS Tunes as they may damage your engine.

The Ford Performance Calibration is considered an OTS Tune as it is purchased Off The Shelf at Performance Parts Stores, but is safer than other as it was developed by Ford Performance. The best way to Tune your car is to get a Professional Tune that is customized for your car and its mods by a person that is very familiar with the platform that you want tuned. Hey man, I’ve researched about a week and made my mind to go with FP tune, 20,000 on my car. I just wanna know I don’t wanna do a lot of stuff after FP turn and get into too much depth. So FP tune, active exhaust, Cold Air intake, BOV, and maybe INC will be good? I don’t know a lot so any information will be helpful

    • @mustangmodsecoboostgarage6539
      @mustangmodsecoboostgarage6539  4 роки тому +1

      I would get an Intercooler first. If you don't plan on taking your car on a track then just go with a Street Intercooler instead of a Race Style Front Mount Intercooler. I have the CV Fab Race, but they also have a Street IC that is about $350. I would recommend getting that. Also, a catch can is a good investment. I have dumped mine twice already and got a few ounces out each time. The FP Tune comes with a 36K miles warranty, but this is the total mileage of your car. So if you already have 20K, then it will only last another 16K before it runs out. I would think that you would notice any issues from it before then anyway so really not that big a deal. Also, a CAI does not really do much for you, from what I heard and read. The stock air box on this car is pretty efficient, however getting a bigger intake tube to feed the turbo is recommended. I went with the Airaid Modular Intake Tube and think it helped. The FP Tune comes with a K & N Filter to help airflow as well, so that should be all you need. The Airaid Tube is about $180, so it is cheaper than a full CAI anyways. Use that money towards another mod. ;)

      Mustang Mods EcoBoost Garage Thanks man it was very helpful. One last question is that if I get the tune and it shows any issues before the warranty expires 36,000 can I untune it or go to stock with only simple bolt ons without tune? And if it shows issues after 36,000 they wouldn’t cover damages with my gap warranty correct?

    • @mustangmodsecoboostgarage6539
      @mustangmodsecoboostgarage6539  3 роки тому

      @unknown user what year is your car? In my latest video I talk about how the FP Tune for the 2018+ can not be flashed back to factory. This is only an issue if you plan to flash back to your factory tune, or if you plan on getting a professional tune using the Cobb AP, or some other tuning device, as they will not be able to read your PCM.

      @@s_s_j21-psn53 catch can is a good idea for sure. Ant Tune can possibly damage your engine. The OTS Tunes are very generic and usually do not account for your specific mods. This can be more harmful to your engine then running a more specific tune for the mods that you have on your car done by a Professional who knows this platform better than anyone. Yes, the chance of damage is there, but it is also there for people who are completely stock. Just play it smart and you should be fine.

      Octane Booster may work, but with some side effects. From what I understand, most octane boosters do not really perform up to their expectations. The few that actually do, may also leave an orange residue on your plugs and sensors that will require you to change them more often. Some people are willing to make that exception to save a little money over buying the higher octane fuel, but I am not. I font want anything to damage my engine and will only do things that I believe are good for it. Now, the reason that higher octane is better is because it burns colder and is less stressful to your cylinders. Octane boosters can claim that, but then I watch videos of people who used boosters and they blew up their engines. I encourage everyone to do their own research, but so far using an increased octane by adding race gas has proven to be good for the engine while adding power.

      My car has the active exhaust system with the quad tips, which already removes the resonator adding more flow. The pipes are 2.75", I believe, an upgraded active exhaust for this car would be expensive and for the amount of gains I would get are probably not worth. I may eventually upgrade, but for now I am satisfied. Check out my exhaust clips video, it does sound better in Track and Sport modes. In this video the exhaust was in normal mode.

That is why I had to go back a second time to verify my numbers I mistakenly did my pulls in 5th while it was supposed to be 7th for the A10 trans. With the mods that you have I would think you would be at around 300 WHP. Race gas will add a little extra power, but I don't think it will show up on the dyno. I can see the difference when I do a 1/4 mile pull though. It drops my times by a few tenths. I have also heard about the NGK Ruthenium HX Plugs for these cars that will help advance timing for 91 Octane. Since that is all we have here, unless you add in some race gas, I thought that I would try them. I placed an order and will update once I test them out.
      I may need a pro tune to really see the benefits though.

      @@mustangmodsecoboostgarage6539 now I'm thinking its the tune because my A/F was around 11.6 for each pull which is too rich. I know you had the opposite issue of being to lean which is weird considering we have the same tune. I'm gonna call Ford performance and see what they say.

    Look into boostane to boost your octane, cheaper then race gas!

      I did a lot of research and I just don't trust additives. They stain your plugs and sensors orange and leave deposits. Nothing burns cleaner than race gas and I only want the best for my car. That You Tube guy with the Demon blew up his motor and he was running Boostane. Not saying that's what caused it, but I would rather not take any chances.

      Any Ford Performance Parts dealer shop. There are a few other places that are certified to sell and possibly install it as well. Look it up on Ford Performance Racing Parts website.
