Because he's not innocent, the only reason he managed to keep his position is because those around him knew better then to get in the way of the investigation and simply ignored his orders but the problem is that he now fired alot of those people so who knows what might happen now.
He's not innocent. The Mueller report stated that they found evidence of other criminal acts which are not within the scope of this investigation, and they are passed on to other relevant law enforcement agencies to be investigated. Since Trump's financial dealings are not mentioned in the report and the fact that Mueller did look into them while investigating, it's safe to assume that that's the aforementioned other criminal acts. This is also in line with the 16 new investigations started on Trump's financial dealings in the state level. My guess is when Trump first found out about Mueller's investigation, he didn't know that Mueller's scope would not cover anything financial (this explains his "i'm f***ed" statement, because of course he would be aware of his financial frauds and money laundering). He basically panicked and naturally attempted to obstruct the investigation. But later on he was probably told by his aides about the actual scope of the investigation, which explains why he ultimately didn't move to fire Mueller. He couldn't get Mueller to ignore his obstruction attempts though, so he deployed Giuliani to muddy the water with that "you can't obstruct something without an underlying crime" bullcrap. That nonsense reasoning doesn't fly with normal people of course, but it certainly worked with his base because they're not very bright.

Because he's not innocent, the only reason he managed to keep his position is because those around him knew better then to get in the way of the investigation and simply ignored his orders but the problem is that he now fired alot of those people so who knows what might happen now.
He's not innocent. The Mueller report stated that they found evidence of other criminal acts which are not within the scope of this investigation, and they are passed on to other relevant law enforcement agencies to be investigated. Since Trump's financial dealings are not mentioned in the report and the fact that Mueller did look into them while investigating, it's safe to assume that that's the aforementioned other criminal acts. This is also in line with the 16 new investigations started on Trump's financial dealings in the state level. My guess is when Trump first found out about Mueller's investigation, he didn't know that Mueller's scope would not cover anything financial (this explains his "i'm f***ed" statement, because of course he would be aware of his financial frauds and money laundering). He basically panicked and naturally attempted to obstruct the investigation. But later on he was probably told by his aides about the actual scope of the investigation, which explains why he ultimately didn't move to fire Mueller. He couldn't get Mueller to ignore his obstruction attempts though, so he deployed Giuliani to muddy the water with that "you can't obstruct something without an underlying crime" bullcrap. That nonsense reasoning doesn't fly with normal people of course, but it certainly worked with his base because they're not very bright.

Attempted robbery, attempted rape, and attempted murder are all crimes. You may try to commit a crime and fail, but it's still illegal to try because of the intent. If you try to kill someone by poisoning them with antifreeze in their oatmeal but you fail because one of your co-conspirators refused to feed your murder target the antifreeze-laced oatmeal or you're so dumb that you mistook a bottle of green Gatorade for antifreeze, it's still a crime because YOU TRIED TO KILL SOMEONE.

It is. If the police are conducting an investigation and i show up and begin interfering with that investigation, messing with the crime scene, hiding things, trying to thwart their ability to get to the bottom of things, that's illegal. It doesn't matter if the underlying investigation was able to find enough evidence of a crime. Perhaps the reason the evidence wasn't found had something to do with obstructing the investigation?
