So glad to see Witchblade here. It was one of the first comic series I ever read, and how Michael Turner came to be my favorite comic artist, so in that respect, I'm also a big fan of Fathom and Soulfire. Unfortunately I haven't read any comics in a long time, so I've no idea what's going on currently in the comic book universe.

Compucles to be fair Shredder only called them amphibians as an insult just how to 2003 Shredder called them freaks despite him being a small brain looking alien

Good to see The Green Hornet and Savage Dragon as an honorary mentions but why couldn't Spawn be Number One also what about The Crow, Preacher, The Lone Ranger and Conan the Barbarian those characters have all played an important meaning in the comic industry from the work of their creators and many forms of media.
Renato Costa Possibly because The Crow is an undead supernatural creature, Preacher is a straight up demon, Lone Ranger is a cowboy and Conan is a Barbarian. Just because they star in comic books doesn't make them superheroes. I repeat, it's because they're not superheroes.
You know, today we Finns have our own superhero too: Rendel (aka Jukka Rämö), the protector of Mikkeli, created by Jesse Haaja. Made first appearance in a movie in 2017.

sonic100X I kept hearing a movie was in development for years that never happened & still waiting on the official dvd release. I loved the show thought it was a great effort to be fun and educational.
Decent list but you didn't even mention The Shadow, Vampirella, The Phantom, Barb Wire, Saitama. That's why I'm a bit disappointed. I adore these characters
I’m surprised Generator Rex didn’t make it onto this list. And sure, Generator Rex is known as action cartoon. But the show itself is actually based on a comic book.

This is a top 10 list. There are hundreds of heroes. The Phantom is historically significant, but boring as hell to read, so I would place him in the top 100 but not in the top 10. Zorro is from literature, originally, so comic adaptations don't count.
For anyone who says that manga/anime characters don’t count, all manga are comics. The word “manga” literally translates to ”comic.” And in Japan, they refer to cartoons from other countries as anime as well as their own animated shows. Another honorable mention I'd add is The Darkness/Jackie Estacado. Not any type of hero, for sure, but a great comic nonetheless. The video games (especially the first one) weren't a good representation of the character, but the graphic novel itself is stellar.

Google the differences, I can't list them all because I'd be here all day if I did but the biggest difference is that reptiles always look like what they are when they hatch where amphibians change and look nothing like the adults.
