I love this feature on my manual transmission Corolla. I can simply turn the engine off and hear the EPB engaging, put the car back in gear and step out.
You should reconsider using this automatic feature unless you live where there are hills or mountains. Setting the parking brake when you live in the south is a useless function. You are just wearing and tearing a system that will eventually break and cause expensive repairs. Setting your parking brake on level ground is not necessary. Just some advice from someone who is driven for over 50 years and never use the parking brake.
Works great! Until, the system goes haywire and won't disengage. This has happened to me twice, and both times the dealer had no idea what it could be.
To the best of our knowledge the automatic parking brake should not impact your battery. We would recommend discussing that further with your dealer for clarity. Thank you
@@belletoyota To the best of their knowledge, motor actuators don't use electricity. To the best of their knowledge, e brake is the best and most loved brake that exists. They put real handbrake in gr86 and gr yaris ... their fanciest cars cause.. you know.. erm... to the best of their knowledge.
Why are we doing away with Emergency brakes n cable. It was never a Park brake. Transpiration board Should be mandating and Emergency brake for safety. No power. You have no way to stop your car now if the brakes fail.
Absolutely most hated thing on my new corolla. I hate it, can't smoothly hill ascend or regulate how much braking pressure is applied. The fact that i have to press brake pedal in order to use hand brake is ridiculous and extremely dangerous.

Thanks for your comment! Isn't this feature awesome? Many of our guests who drive manual transmission agree! Have a great day!
It works great with my 21' Rav4 auto as well. No more pedal to push or hand brake to pull.
Thank you for your wonderful comment! So glad you like this feature :)

Hi Mark-Paul! Thanks for the great feedback! It is such a handy feature, especially for those who rarely engage the traditional parking brake!

My Toyota dealer told me to use emergency brake only up or down hill. The automatic parking brake seems detrimental to battery or something like that.

Mine squeals when it engages and disengages. Does anyone know how to stop them from squeaking. I have a 2021 Corolla
It may be best to contact your local Toyota service department and have a Toyota technician take a look at your vehicle.

Stupid system at all.
