I am elderly and have bought my first ever car with a reversing camera. Your video taught me about the lines and how they work so many thanks. I wouldn't want another car if it didn't have a reversing camera as I find it so much easier when maneuvering.
OMG, this video answers every question a person could possibly have about how to use (and how not to use) a reverse camera. You're a gifted communicator and a born teacher.

guys trust me i didn't even go to school for driving instructions but through this guy who instruct here i began to drive without even a single class, the most thing to this instructor he makes me feel I/we can do something without any fear!
This was great. I've been driving a 2005 until now so I've never used all these fancy bells and whistles. Now I understand what those lines in the reverse camera mean! Thank you.
*Hello, your videos are extremely helpful; I passed my road test back in 2016 in large part by employing many of your teaching methods & to this day I have not gotten into a single accident after I bought my very first brand new Suzuki Ciaz in Feb 2018.Thanks again.*
@@juanitovar It was not bad at all, the most important thing is to stay calm so you don't get nervous behind the wheel. Also, something that I recommend is to drive around with your parents an hour or two before the test so that when you go to the test location you will feel even more confident in your driving ability.
This was very useful. I totally agree that you have to turn around and look-when you're backing up OR changing lanes. I have a reverse camera in my Honda Fit, but I don't use it that much. I just turn around and look. But now that I understand what the lines mean, maybe I'll try using it more.
Very helpful video, thanks for taking the time to make such detailed videos! I'm a big fan! Looking forward to the video on reverse parking into a narrow driveway.
Your videos just stay awesome. I was reversing out the gym and there were a bunch of cars in the area cuz it's the weekend, and I ended up doing some silly drive forward, then back, then forward, then back, cuz I was so nervous and wasn't able to rain the reverse camera. Thanks again!
Very good, concise video. Simple and informative. Great for both learners and experienced drivers alike who may not be familiar with reverse cameras. Well done. Good work.
(Read in his accent) You make great videos, you helped me a lot, this is best driving channel in youtube, good visual explanation, keep up the good work.
I’ve driven a few cars with backup cameras and I still find myself to use the mirrors and turning I like that I can perfectly center my car backing in a parking space with a backup camera without having to adjust my mirrors or look out of the window at my space in the lines in a car without a backup camera. The cross path detection is a great feature in cars to as well as reverse auto braking
I did a video in my channel talking about the disadvantages of parking cameras. The 360° parking camera is one of the best, but it depends on how the side cameras are laid out. During a rainy day, the water drops can affect the side view cameras.
Just installed a reverse camera on my car. I always look back while reversing, but I want the camera to see anything low down that you can't see by looking back or from the mirrors. Curbs, rocks, fire hydrants, small animals, etc... When you install a camera yourself, you may end up with arbitrary lines, or you may be able to adjust your lines. I eyeballed my line adjustment for the moment, but I should really take some measurements and make sure the lines are where I want them to be. My impression is that most aftermarket cameras will only have the static lines. Some cars also also adjust the turning lines with your speed, not only with the position of the steering wheel.
What you highlighted at 3:58 is not the sensor for the parking radar, but the cap for the towing attachment. The car in your pic has no parking radar sensors.
someone that noticed the same as me. That's, clearly is Not the car sensors, and by that error alone I question all the information on the video if he can't identify such a simple sensor.
I always looked around in my vehicle. I looked through the back, side mirrors, rear view mirror, and of course my backup camera. I even have backup censors in backing out. I always looked around inside my car. I think a few of my neighbors don’t have backup cameras in their cars. I have been practicing in driving reverse in my 2020 Ford Escape. It has a big backup camera.
Thank you sooooo much to my trainer husband and conduite facile channel who gave me a lot of detailed information about driving lessons, and today, I instantly cleared my driving test in heavy snow storm, -30°celsius weather👏🎉👍🤗🤗👍❄️❄️.
I love all your video it help me a lot for my driving but I failed 2x now for my g road test .. I hope I will pass my next driving test ..I like the way u explain and perform .. very clear ...
Backup cameras is nice when in a 30ft long box truck, i have 0 visibility backwards so it sure adds some safety for people that of course have to walk behind you when you are reversing.
I have been using the backup camera and all of my mirrors. I do looked the back, also. My last vehicle had a 4 inch camera which is small. My 2020 Ford Escape SE has a little bit bigger screen which is 8 inches. I just loved the size of it. I even had to be very careful in backing my vehicle in a certain spot. My neighbor kind of parked closely to the yellow line. I have been practicing in backing in. This technology for backup cameras was new to me in 2013 when my mother had gotten her Ford Edge now it is my sister’s vehicle. I’m happy what I have so far. A lot of people in my apartment complex has much older cars. This one neighbor has a 2021 Toyota Camry in white. That vehicle is pretty sweet since that I liked the styling of it.
Quite a good video - but I don't agree as regards turning your head looking back as you reverse. I always use external and internal rear view mirrors when I reverse - that's something that is also necessary when driving a lorry or some other big vehicle. Turning your head as you reverse means you cannot see objects at the side you're not looking at. Using the rear view mirrors gives you a better overview (if you ask me).
By turning your head you have a wider angle of view. You also see through the back passenger windows, as opposed to when looking at the mirrors where you only see to the sides (side mirrors), or directly behind (central mirror). But in reality, you should use a combination of both.
Your videos are great and helps a lot. I believe you should add some videos for people starting left hand driving as used to right hand drive and also on usage and practical example of using Google navigation
Google is on the list, bot Google Maps web and the app. Left driving is more complicated. I'd have to go to a country where they drive on the left just for that. Especially in these times.
as i see you most likely using a hyundai i30 which is fairly easy to use their reverse camera. I use hyundai i20N and its very close system to the one in i20 and i would say its often what i see on the camera the same distance is in reality if come out so they are more than helpful, i cant although leave at looking at the mirrors its like a habit so sometimes i do a perfect parking and then i remember oh yeah of course there was a camera i can look at lol :D
My Toyota RAV-4 has a reverse camera, however, when I always back out of my driveway, I usually always look at the side windows, side mirrors, looking at the rear windshield, and only using the reverse camera only to see if I'm about to hit something, like you say. My family is using a little too comfortable about the reverse camera, and use it most of the time, compared to looking back and looking at the mirrors, and they think I'm strange for using the reverse camera only a little bit. I'm like that because I like to gain a lot more experience looking at the important windows and mirrors in the vehicle than looking at the camera. I think of it this way: even though vehicles are getting a lot more modern and have more advanced features, the driver can't be replaced. So that experience of reversing without thinking the reverse camera is there most of the time is how I do it :)
This man says every little detail everyone needs to know, leaves almost no room for questions. Amazing work!
