      And you can take off that bar that covers your compartment and pull the plastic tabs. Put your cover in and put that plastic tabs back on and place the flooring over. That way when you are loading the vehicle up and the seats are folded down you won't have to store the compartment cover on the side and it won't get wrecked.@@ImpulseDETT

    ALL those things mentioned in your video, if a owner does Not know them by the time he/she leaves a dealership, that "sales person" did NOT do his/her job, period!
    As for the rear cargo deck, by flipped the deck cover over to the smooth surface side most likely NOT gonna stop any liquid from leaking down the gaps in to the lower (spare tire storage) level and that will make the clean-up even tougher than using a shopvac to vacuum the furry side of the deck cover!

    • @belletoyota
      @belletoyota  2 роки тому +13

      Hi Richard. I totally appreciate your passionate response to our video. These are indeed features that we mention in the delivery of the new vehicle to its owner prior to driving off our lot. However, these videos are also for drivers of Toyota vehicles who have acquired their Toyota a different way (inherited the vehicle, bought from a pre-owned lot instead of a dealership, shares the vehicle with their parents, etc.) Our channel is not meant to put the onus to learn the features on solely the drivers themselves, but to provide an additional resource for a variety of Toyota drivers to help learn more about their vehicle.
      Yes, the flipped deck cover should not be relied on to prevent a huge spill or leak, but can be handy for smaller spills or messes from miscellaneous items instead of staining the softer carpeted side. Also, it is great for adventure-lovers to prevent Velcro or mud damage from outdoor or sports equipment (tents, hockey gear, hiking boots, etc. Thank you for your thought-provoking comment!

      @@selphame6857 Nailed it Selpha. Even myself, a "hey I'm a calm guy a new car is just a new car no big deal" kind of guy, I get excited when receiving the new car. I HAVE personally witnessed the Salesperson ( in this case the owner /.manager) rush through the vehicle introduction. Our previous new Toyota the salesperson went through everything ( although there was less features" on a 2011 Sienna base model than the 2017 Highlander XLE. My wife even had to pair her phone herself which is an automatic nowadays at pretty much every dealership. He actually spent more time TELLING us that when we received a question from Toyota Canada about our purchase experience that we HAVE TO check excellent or is it 5 out of 5??????. Loved our 2011 Sienna which we traded in 7 years later on a "we ordered" 2017 Highlander. Love the Highlander XLE and I can still get almost as much Costco stuff in as in the Sienna. WE are keeping the Highlander but have ordered a 2022 Rav 4 Limited Hybrid in late October which I'm not even sure has started being built yet????? Can't wait but waiting sucks. Of course THIS TIME...... I will remain calm and insist on everything being explained.......aaaaaaah probably not.

    • @waki0069
      @waki0069 2 роки тому

      These are fog lights, only use them when visibility is terrible, back only when fog is very dense and you can see under 50meters. If you press auto high beams, you can just set lever onto on, car will disable lights when it detects light, like from city lamps and cars in oncoming lane, but wont detect car that are driving before you on the same lane. But yes, when high beams go out and the lever stays at on position with auto mode enabled they'll come back after a while. Also, If you have these terrible toyota halogen lights, switch on the front fog lights for better visibility but turn them off once you see traffic. Fog lights does not blid others like high beams but from my experience they are little to much to handle for some people.

    Question, other than the gauge how do I know how much to fill up my corrola se?

    • @belletoyota
      @belletoyota  2 роки тому

      You can reference your manual or toyota.ca to check out the size of your gas tank (ie. how many Litres of gas it holds). For example, my corolla has a 50L tank or 13.2 US gallons. This is what I look for as I am filling my vehicle. Or you can do the traditional method of waiting until the pump stops as you are filling up! Gas nozzles have pressure-type sensors that recognize when the vehicle is filled :)

What this does is to make the camera view come on automatically when you are at very low speed e.g. parking or stopped at traffic lights. It allows you to see all around the car before moving off.

    What is the difference between the snow button and traction control

    • @belletoyota
      @belletoyota  2 роки тому +2

      Hi JP! Awesome question. The traction control keeps your wheels spinning in sync so you have the most grip on the road. When you encounter a slippery terrain, traction control will initiate and the throttle will slow down. If you turn your traction control off, you are reducing the sensitivity of traction control to allow more slip (essentially each wheel gets independent power), which is used in situations where you want your tires to spin on purpose such as going off-roading or being stuck in snow, mud, etc. The snow button makes the engine rev higher and forces the motor to work more. This is used in a variety of situations, but where you will notice the difference is braking. It is very similar to a B mode or a 1 or 2 mode in older automatic vehicles, where the engine slows you down much faster (engine braking), so you do not need to only rely on your brake pedal, reducing the risk of sliding or skidding in the snow. Also, traction control is available on every Toyota vehicle, whereas the snow button tends to be limited to AWD models only. I hope this helps! Sorry for the long reply :)

    My Toyota Yaris from 2005 has none of these features.
    Well... at least not 1 to 4. I will have to check the fifth one.
    Personally, I prefer simplicity over complexity. I prefer driving a car where I know what each button does over a car with millions of buttons or a car with some overly advanced touchscreen display to control the car. That is why I prefer older cars over newer ones. ;-)
    What I love about my car compared to other cars I have driven (Renault Twingo from 2013, Peugot 106), is that the Toyota Yaris drives to smoothly. I can accelerate without feeling a bump and I can decelerate without feeling the aggression of the engine. The car just gives an energy of rest.
    And, this car is like a tank. I have had four unfortunate cases where someone bumped into me (*tailgaters who couldn't brake in time when I had to brake for animals crossing the road*), and in none of these cases did the Toyota Yaris show any visible damage. One of these collisions slightly scratched the paint, but it didn't leave any dents whatsoever.

While the availability for some features is obvious for many others it's not. I did not receive any documentation from my dealer Scarborough Toyota with a list of all features that my RAV4 XLE has and I can't find any information about this on the Toyota Canada website. On top of that the manual is not Canada specific while as I learnt there are differences between the Canadian and American RAV4s. I don't know where to find a complete list of the features my RAV4 has as mentioned in the manual.

    Is eco drive mode best for city driving?

    • @belletoyota
      @belletoyota  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Dale! You can use eco mode whenever you'd like as it can be used on the fly and primarily affects your acceleration power to help you increase your fuel economy. Vehicles tend to use the majority of their gas by starting and stopping at stoplights, stop signs, etc. Therefore, it tends to be most useful in the city where you will accelerate and decelerate frequently. Many drivers also use it on the highway once they have reached their desired speed. Thanks for your comment!

    • @dj3114
      @dj3114 2 роки тому +5

      I have a 21 XSE and in town use "normal" mode. It gives slight better MPG because it enables you to get to speed faster so you can then maintain speed - sometimes called "pulse and glide". I use ECO on the highway when you really don't notice. The only time I've used "sport" was to merge onto a busy freeway in a larger city, then switch to "normal". Does not hurt to switch on the fly because it's all software with nothing happening with gears.
