Unsung Father of Lo-Fi and DIY Pioneer, R. Stevie Moore - "I Need Your Love" from Next (1974). Get it Straight from its Source at: www.rsteviemoor...
"Underground UK suggested Moore "should be sponsored by the American people as one of the few realistic pieces of rock 'n' roll history they have left." Ira Robbins informed Trouser Press readers of "a national treasure unrecognized in his homeland," while Musician praised "tunes that many richer, more famous musicians would be proud to have written." Though he's gained minor notoriety as an elder statesman of the home recording revolution and all-around oddball, the versatile songwriting, production and performing skills that captivated those critics remain almost totally unknown." - Mojo 2003
"1974's Next marks the transition from RSM's early experimental phase into a much more accessible and pop-oriented framework. By this point, Moore has managed to coalesce his varied influences into the unique sound that he would continue to refine over the next few decades." - All Music Guide

This song has my favorite guitar solo of all time, so perfect, so fitting, and then it's gone.
I had forgotten about him. I first heard him in the early 90's. It was impossible to find his stuff then but now thanks to youtube so much is available. He is amazing
There should be more artists just doing their thing as they please!

2:18 I hear a gong influence right there and then another one etc.... That guy really is a musical genius, he incorporated so many "things" in his catalogue, so dense and diverse..

Trippin balls in 2020
EVERYTHING MAKES ME FEEL FUNNY
nice video, i really do dig it
holy shit
His first album is from '76th, year of primer public appearance of CD, ahhh, what a hesia
Hey R Stevie, how did you think of making each video? It was all around the same time and yet each one has a different look
I think Zack Galifinakis owes this guy some royalties...or at least some credit for his schtick...
@DEPARTMENTofPEACEusa Neither CDs nor file sharing ruined the music industry. The commodification of music by major labels both created and destroyed the "music industry". It was a transfer of power from artists to businessmen. Then when the labels failed to adapt to a new era in which downloads became free/easy, the industry started failing. The only negative thing CDs did to music was lower people's standard of acceptable audio quality. And vinyl isn't dead. Art should never be an industry.
Art should never be an industry. Does that apply to filmmaking?
@@thingfish000 Wow what an old comment I don’t remember leaving. Most films aren’t art and most “art films” exist on the fringes of or outside the mainstream film industry.
no problemo footnotesman.
something about this guys looks offend me, but its great!
he did not wanted to read it but hear it from you so he is 100% sure

if this is 1974,how come he got a cd in the clip!
i do not think they had cds in 1974,but great song
Just like Wings, but better.
I totally agree that this guy is a neglected transcendental genius with a back catalogue to rival the Beatles. But if this is 1974 what's he doing with a CD in his hand? Was the vid made later - or is he playing mischief with chronology?
this video was filmed in 1988
There were CDs in 1974?
video was filmed in 1988
Ah I see - thanks autosam - how dim of me.

See that shiny disc? This was flimed in 88? That shiny little disc will ruin the music industry. actually file sharing will. I don't buy music any more , It's free! CD's are no where near as fun as vynyl records were. The death of vinyl was forced . And now the music industry that killed it is dying!
Records more alive than ever 9 years later
I like him... but i cant get passed his voice & tone. Its to hokey jokey for me.

@@rstvmo I don't think he'll ever realize that he just got roasted by the man himself HAHA.
