- Опубліковано 4 жов 2024
- R. Stevie Moore isn’t exactly a household name, but he might just be the most prolific musician in America. With a career spanning 50 years and over 400 albums, Stevie is a pioneer of low fidelity music. His love began at a young age, writing and recording tracks out of his basement. Years later, he took home recording to the next level, producing over 4,000 songs and finding fans in bands like the Talking Heads and The B-52s. Now, he’s moving up and out of the basement, playing concerts and festivals around the world.

My favorite quote is "bad music is brilliant", it's such an important thing to understand as a musician who only seeks "perfection"
yoko!
JOHN!!!!
Pink litmus paper shirt is one of the best songs ever written
Wow... He's pretty much the pioneer of bedroom musician...
That would be Less Paul. LOL But I gotta say I really like this guy!
OMG!!! My jaw dropped when I saw this in my feed, R. Stevie Moore is finally getting his great big story!!! Love him so much
Wonderful story R Stevie. I knew your Dad in the 80's . Your voice is his!
A true gentleman.
"It's a diary of sound" at first I thought i heard "it's a diarrhoea of sound," and i was like, thats one way to put it.
Same!
living legend right there folks. a songwriter that has stood the test of time and will be remembered for generations to come.Go see him live when he lands in your town.
Johny T had to drive 6 hours just to see him at the East room, look on my channel for vids
This is the true spirit of being a musician or any kind of artist. To me art is a creative expression of one's self. Art becomes diluted when it's monetized. I'm a professional visual artist and apparently a good guitarist. People always ask me why I'm not in a band. I reply that I paint/illustrate for a living and by doing so I'm at the mercy of whatever the customer wants. I play the guitar for ME.
*starts going through his entire discography*
he has 50+ albums,that'll take a long time 😂
400+
His 70's stuff is my favorite period by a long shot, amazing guitar playing
@@snicker576 he got wild in the 80s doe
This guys is a national treasure. Keep on rockin', Sir!
finally some attention for him!!
This is the first time I've heard someone else use the term 'warts and all' My old conductor in high school would say it to mean, your best effort and the good will shine through warts and all. My own music is very much the same, I've been doing home recording since 1994 and have 13 albums out with more to come.
R STEVIE!!!! MY FAVORITE MUSICIAN OF ALL TIME!!!!
Amazing energy! We have a guy like that in our small retro gamedev community. He's in his 60's and making one game after another. I hope & wish to have that kind of passion at that age - or even right now. I mean, I've always been doodling or writing something, that's my idea of time well spent, but I get lost in trying to polish things, level up, do something BIG, and very often I forget to just have with it.
What kind of games does he make?
Damn, this makes me want to keep up with my indie music project.
One of my favourite musicians of all time!!! For newcomers check out the compilation album "Meet The R Stevie Moore"!
Thanks for the recommendation. Listening now and it's really fun. Just the kind of happy music I was actually looking for.
FiTZ Glad you love it! It has one of my favourite pop songs inside, You And Me!
@@tehaoboon923 ‘you and me’ is like crack to me man i fuckin love that song. i could let it play over n over lol, same goes for ‘teen routines’. incredible comp/album i can’t say enough good about it
As a Chilean Underground One Man Band who records his own music in his bedroom i find this incredibly inspiring. Thanks!
That is one of most greatest stories I ever heard abous tell amazing
R. Stevie Moore is such an inspiration and to just go your own way no pun intended and make your mark is killer.

loving him so much
R stevie moore will go down in history... "nobody pays me much mind until im gone"
Can't believe I didn't know about this guy. So cool to discover him now though. His history validates my own hermit recording tendencies. I thought maybe I was over-doing it, but maybe not. Thanks R. Stevie Moore!
About eight years ago, someone told me he had died: I remember that I grieved little bit. I thought ‘Aw, what a bummer’. I convinced myself
Note to self- stop telling people that he’s dead.
WOW! A true HERO! What is their not to love about this Great Man! 400 Albums? I must delve in and start hearing ALL of them! I wouldn't be surprised if some have ripped him off. I am going to find them!
If you’re intrigued by this you have to listen to his album Pow Wow! So good
Fantastic!! I'm absolutely in love with this man!! Thank you for featuring him! 💕🎶
no one motivates me to make the music i wanna make quite like mr. moore - even more so than in DIY/punk music, including the underbelly of the beast of garage/grunge rock, there's a level of such unfiltered vulnerability and authenticity in his music that makes me feel so encouraged in pursuing the melodies my brain finds in the world 🥺💕
Oh wow he follows me on Instagram and comments on almost all of my posts!!! I had no idea how big he really was!!!
just listened to Close Yet So Far by this guy and decided to look him up. thought he was just some random underground music dude from the 80s, didn't realize he was this cool! this guy is an inspiration
R Stevie Moore is a true gem and a gift to this world. What a sweetheart. :')
I discovered this guy yesterday. I do what he does poorly. I suck. But I have to do it.
I am so thrilled to find R. Stevie.
Wow, this guy is a prodigy!!!!! An unknown hero... He needs to be known.
This made me smile and tear up a bit.
This guy is insanely intelligent and well spoken
No better duo then him and Ariel Pink
than*
Yes. Indeed.
not anymore :(
what about Maus and Pink
R stevie Moore and Gary Wilson
Ariel Pink got him major recognition...but then again Animal Collective got Ariel Pink major recognition...and the cycle continues.
Another day slips away. What a genius
OG bedroom pop
he makes bedroom pop. it's not "OG". it's just bedroom pop. it's not some 16 year old pouring garbage into an interface, drowned in reverb and chorus effects. it's just real bedroom pop.
craig garwood damn that hurts
craig garwood woah there buddy its just a youtube comment
mike hutchison lol for real
wow craig, never really heard of an elitist bedroom pop aficionado before
An artist that expresses absolute freedom in his art.
This is how we all should be.. i have a q hard time but i'm at the point of not caring anymore.. wish i had this motivation when i was younger.
Best ever video story. Awesome 😎
I'm so glad he's at least almost getting the recognition he deserves.

All the greats have had beards throughout history.
