    This place is awesome . He called me today about my order because he wanted to help me with my situation. We talked about what I want to do in the spring and we are going to come up with a game plan . Again very knowledgeable and a heck of a guy

    Awesome video! Extremely informational and honest! Keep up the great work! I run the Atlas 80 on all 3 of my 6.0L trucks! I absolutely love that tune!

      @@vinnyhimes1077 how is the Atlas 80 as far as towing purposes , too much? Do I have to upgrade my injectors? Will it be smokey?

    Awesome explanation! I’ve already settled on the Atlas 40 but will be January before I pull the trigger!

    What would it cost if i or someone to send in their ficm and had you tune the ficm with the atlas 40 and send it back?

    I’m running an ECM tune that turns the VGT off at idle (just for sound). Gonna get a loaner FICM tuner, and try em all.

      Just keep an eye on your EGT's is all. Well, and assess whether your trans can take it. If you haven't yet done the trans upgrade, that's worth looking at. I mean, we sell transmissions, too, but would rather not have to sell you one. :) ua-cam.com/video/39iW5uCwcx8/v-deo.html

      @@ficmrepairZF6 :) And I already have a pyrometer. I’m also running a Borg Warner S257 so I’m hoping for a little better spool time and lug. I would like to know, about how much torque does a FICM tune add before pcm tuning?

    So is the atlas 80 "safe" for stock head bolts for normal driving?

    • @vinnyhimes1077
      @vinnyhimes1077 2 місяці тому

      It's perfectly safe, I have factory head bolts on one of my 3 6.0L's and I run the Atlas 80 with a 9" lift and 37" tires. I beat on it like it owes me money and I've had zero issues.

    Appreciate the information! Great detail! My truck is an 06 zf6 manual. It runs 190/30 injectors, modified 03 vgt turbo, odawgs intake, 4” turbo back exhaust, no limit cold air intake, regulated return fuel system and custom tunes. I’m interested in the atlas 40…are there any major torque increases over the custom tunes I have…say in the off idle to 2000rpm range? I know it’s a broad and subjective question but what ball park torque increases would you expect if any? Thanks so much!!

    • @ficmrepair
      @ficmrepair  2 роки тому

      Absolutely increases! The largest gain you'll see is throttle response off the line and tip-in - when you first get on it.

    I have a 2006 F250 Crew Cab long bed (35” tires, stock gears, cold air intake, turbo back exhaust, studded, stock injectors) and I’m running a Bank’s Power inline tuner with their iDash digital gauge. I wanted your opinion on how many HP the stock injectors are good for and should I upgrade the gearing (if so, to what) to tow a 16K lb. 5th wheel cross country. We are somewhat recent empty nesters located in Eastern NC and want to travel the country. I’m planning on doing some internal upgrades (cam and lifters, ported intake manifold, upgraded exhaust manifolds and up pipes, and possibly upgraded heads) FICM tune and I don’t know if I need to upgrade the injectors to optimize my future setup. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

      4.56 gears w/ a solid tow tune and atlas 40 is a good setup. Need aftermarket o-ringed heads to be reliable, stock heads will crack when pushed hard. Good luck.

    Hey, got 175/30s here on a new build I inherited: Have a whole bunch of supporting mods including egr delete, odawgs intake, 4" exhaust, kc stage 2 turbo, dieselsite hpods, fully built billet trans, fuel system - 35" tire stock gear ratio, all on an excursion......want a pretty hot daily driver (reasonable without blowing black smoke all the time) and occasionally tow 8000lb travel trailer, but possibly for long distances. Will also do ecm tuning....would atlas 40 likely fit the bill for me?...or should I go economy tune and do the rest with ecm?

      What you are describing is perfect for the Atlas 40 tune. We can, of course, set you up with the ECM side of things as well!

    Can you run a stock injector ficm tune on bigger injectors without too many issues and for towing what's the max injector size I was considering 205/30s but ive got a stealth 67g2 turbo so I'm trying to make the best combo for heavier towing and alot of daily driver use

    • @ficmrepair
      @ficmrepair  3 роки тому

      Not really. If you have 155/30's or larger, you are going to want the large injector version of whatever FICM tune you land on. 205/30's are the most common injector size we sell...for a whole litany of reasons...we've got a video on that, too... ;)

    I have stock injectors and stock turbo which I will be upgrading both. I have 5 inch exhaust and I'm interested in going with the atlas 80. Is this plausible for say 6 months to a year till I get the injectors and turbo upgraded?

      Absolutely! You can get a FICM tune for the stock injectors you have now and then migrate to a tune intended for larger injectors when you make that move. For that matter, we can help you out with the injectors, too! www.ficmrepair.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=product/product_id=708/category_id=-1/mode=prod/prd708.htm

      Ok great. My plan is making my truck a tow rig since I am looking to buy a camper and I also need to tow my 04 ford excursion trail rig into the Rockies here in Colorado for offroad trips. My plan is the atlas 80 155cc injectors the KC stinger stage 1 turbo and I have the SCT livewire+ which I will get cusum tunes for when the injectors and turbo are installed. Does this seem like a good combination?

    Is the 80hp tune noticeable with an ecm custom race tune? What tune would you recommend? I have a zf6 so I’m not worried about trans issues

    • @ficmrepair
      @ficmrepair  3 роки тому

      Yes. The 80hp tune is absolutely noticeable! I'd recommend just renting the tuner (which comes with all of the tunes on it) so that you can try them all for yourself to gauge how your particular truck behaves. The concerns would be excessive smoke and EGT's - if the smoke isn't an issue and the EGT's remain in line, there is no reason you can't even go for the 100hp Hercules tune! www.ficmrepair.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=product/product_id=412/category_id=-1/mode=prod/prd412.htm
