I'm not surprised to see Horizon Zero Dawn and The Witcher 3 that high. These games are fantastic! Mad Max, The Division and Watch Dogs are very underrated

All though it is unlikely, there is still a significant time gap between the two games, which would make it possible for Ubisoft to make a game in between. However, if they did, the game would probably be about Haytham Kenway (Edwards son), and his story leading up to his role in AC3.
Assassins Creed Rogue is pretty much Black Flag 2 and is insanely underrated and far too many people haven't even heard of it despite it being arguably better than black flag
I played it on 2015, i had an amazing experience on that game, the mountains the skydiving, some driving and listening to kyrat radio, and taking honey badgers or rare animals for skills and stuff, i remember conquering those enemy places such an amazing game I spend about 7 hours only in the first small area and it was still very big
I still love fallout... all the dlc... the freedom to build, different ending, so many mods, open world, but i wish the dlc map and the main map... i wish the main and dlc map would merge so it will be bigger, but what i hate about f4 is that building in settlements is very limited.

i loved exploring every corner of Horizon zero dawn, going into every settlement and doing all the side quests. Oh and the prettiest night sky in any game ever made.
It worked properly for me but the problem is that there's fuck all to do when you've beaten the game. I got it when it came out, finished it in like 3 days and never played again
Never could get the second game run at all, even when I got a completely new computer with an up to date graphics card, and noone wanted to help me. I basically gave up, glad I only spent a couple of bucks on it.
JC2 was probably the best, for me, personally. The 1st game was a good but not filled out enough and the third was just a bit too broken for my liking, leaving me to favour the second game over the others.

InfectedEZG best things about HZD are the world (it's the most beautiful game world ever imo), the combat (YOU'RE FIGHTING ROBOT DINOSAURS), exploration (normally not into that, but loved to do it in HZD) and story (if you love Sci-fi, you'll live this). The immersion is great in this game.
The Witcher 3 should have been #1 in my opinion. RDR2 is a great game but the story, cities and characters of The Witcher 3 are much more compelling. And that's just the main game. The Blood And Wine DLC contains the most beautiful open world I have ever experienced. And the story hits you in the face with its amazing cinematic moments more times than you can count. Truly the best gaming experience I have ever had.

Farcry 3 and 4 towers is the first thing I go finding. Dont know why you all hate it so much, then they removed it in 5. That feeling after the maps unlocked is so satisfying

I feel like you can spend hours talking about horizon zero dawn and you wouldn't give it it's justice, that game is amazingly crafted, everything about it is absolutely gorgeous, they might have wonky animations at times but they fixed that in the frozen wilds, it's absolutely amazing, if you have a PC or a ps4 and you are trying to find a really long game with a great story line that game is for you, i also need to elaborate on the length of the game, I think it took me 50 hours to get through the story but I was doing side quests/ visiting cauldrons/ clearing out bandit camps and just having fun with the game and then I spent 2 days grinding out side quests and overriding tall necks I've only overridden 3 or 4 and today I discovered the frozen wilds which has its own storyline, I swear this game doesn't end and it's amazing
believe me. I wasnt a big fan until recently. The reason why im interested now is cause open world world games are a feat of computer science. One you appreciate that. Youre good to go. Some people "dislike" open world cause its too much for them. Sometimes they prefer a story driven game that guides them what to do
Open world is my favorite genre, but it is possible to fill them with repetitive grind that get boring after a few hours and in my case, makes me drop the game mid-way thru... I'm looking at you Ubisoft.
Not a surprise RDR2 was number one. Looking forward to playing it one day. Of all the games I have played or am playing that made this list, I'd say Horizon Zero Dawn is by far one of my favorites. Playing The Witcher 3 now...finally. It's a bit overwhelming but I'm liking it so far. Lastly, despite its initial bugginess, in the beginning, I enjoyed Ghost Recon Wildlands quite a bit. All in all, this was a pretty good list of games.
Perfect list. I haven't played "Red Dead Redemption 2" but "The Witcher 3 : Wild Hunt" has made me glued to my PC after a very long time being absent from gaming world.
Please do a list of ps4 titles that work well straight out the box no patches required.. That would be a really interesting and useful video for serious collectors that plan on being able to revisit there physical PS4 library for decades to come
Devin West but if you look at the top 10 in this list they are definitely the 10 best in the list and also number 2 is withcher 3 and 1 rdr2 which in my opinion are by far the two best open world games this gen I think this list had an actual order to it . Either way it’s a fantastic list I just think that sleeping dogs should have been in it over no mans sky that game is a joke

I hate AC games, due to the casual gameplay. But they MIGHT have made enough changes to the combat system, to interest me. Still bugs me how you can climb everything and never fall though.
@Nii Lantei Bright-Davies it's defo worth it, but get the GOTY edition not the base game. It's well worth every penny, especially now when it can be had for less than 30 bucks. I have been a fan since the first game, and put in around 250 hours into the Witcher 3. Choose a high difficulty setting and don't rush through the game.
Nii Lantei Bright-Davies put it this way, after putting in about 200 hours on ps4, I bought it again on PC when both expansions came out and put in another 300ish hours. I got bored of Skyrim after 50.
Plox It depends on when you played it. The ppl that played it during its 1st year are the ones who swear by everything in this game. Having just started playing it in December 2019 it’s very underwhelming. Mainly b/c I was expecting the best game ever since that’s what everyone says it is. I had already played RDR2 and AC Odyssey. Both very similar in ways and to me they took Witcher 3 ideas and improved on them. I think if I played it in 2015 I would have been blown away. There’s just too many similar games that have come out since then and refined what the Witcher 3 introduced.
Thanks for not just trashing Andromeda, I loved the combat in that game and the story line. People couldn't get past the graphic glitches and a bugs, so don't get me labeled as white knight for the game who thinks it didn't have issues but I had so much fun I played though again making different choices.
for the people who want sunset overdrive i played through the game and its worth about a 20$ price tag for the multiplayer is bad but you can get a decent amount out of sunset overdrive

you gamers should try Assassin's Creed Odyssey. It might not be the best Assassin's Creed game, But it's definitely one of the best game ever made. i finished it today and i gotta say its a true masterpiece. the sound of assassinating here and there is so satisfying.
Coming from someone who personally played it, Mafia 3 was not a good game. The story started off strong with a compelling lead, but the further you progressed, the more apparent it became that you were just doing the same thing over and over again. Eventually, the story lost its substance and the main character lost his charm. All that was left were copy and pasted missions in a decent open world. However, if you're someone that's fascinated by the culture of the 60's, then the game might be worth checking out at the least.
I'm aware of all these great games and perhaps I've played many of them. I'm in search of an open world game that's explorable and I can get lost in and that I haven't played, I guess there isn't one for now. I'm yearning to play Dying Light 2 of course, I think that's what I really want to play more than anything right now.
Try RDR2, it's an awesome game, just a warning the game has a slow pace and most people didn't like the gameplay that much (I didn't had any problems with it, but still)

Anyone else think Shadow of Mordor > Shadow of War. While SOW is bigger and the nemesis system is more fleshed out, I just thought SOM was an overall more fun experience. But I'm not a mmorpg fan, and SOW felt more akin to that than SOM's more single player style experience. Also I didn't love the combat changes with how the counters and executions worked in SOW. EDIT: And SOM felt much more like a Lord of the Rings story; while SOW went full OC Fan fic. SOW felt more of an open world war playground with Lord of the Rings elements while SOM felt very much like an untold Lord of the Rings story narratively and structurally.

Yakuza is nt really a fast open world game with i big place to explore ye there is lots of stuff to do like the sidequests, learning new skills, fishing, playing in arcades, playing darts, dancing and singing but the overworld is to small to reallly be on this list (i only played the original yakuza 0 and yakuza kiwami so maby another yakuza game is more openworld than these but this is from my expirience)
I can understand that people hate on Gta 5 because of the pay 2 win in online. And the combat is not that good too, especially the fist/ melee combat. believe me. I wasnt a big fan until recently. The reason why im interested now is cause open world world games are a feat of computer science. One you appreciate that. Youre good to go. Some people "dislike" open world cause its too much for them. Sometimes they prefer a story driven game that guides them what to do

Open world is my favorite genre, but it is possible to fill them with repetitive grind that get boring after a few hours and in my case, makes me drop the game mid-way thru... I'm looking at you Ubisoft.
Not a surprise RDR2 was number one. Looking forward to playing it one day. Of all the games I have played or am playing that made this list, I'd say Horizon Zero Dawn is by far one of my favorites. Playing The Witcher 3 now...finally. It's a bit overwhelming but I'm liking it so far. Lastly, despite its initial bugginess, in the beginning, I enjoyed Ghost Recon Wildlands quite a bit. All in all, this was a pretty good list of games.

Perfect list. I haven't played "Red Dead Redemption 2" but "The Witcher 3 : Wild Hunt" has made me glued to my PC after a very long time being absent from gaming world.

Devin West but if you look at the top 10 in this list they are definitely the 10 best in the list and also number 2 is withcher 3 and 1 rdr2 which in my opinion are by far the two best open world games this gen I think this list had an actual order to it . @Nii Lantei Bright-Davies it's defo worth it, but get the GOTY edition not the base game. It's well worth every penny, especially now when it can be had for less than 30 bucks. I have been a fan since the first game, and put in around 250 hours into the Witcher 3. Choose a high difficulty setting and don't rush through the game.
Nii Lantei Bright-Davies put it this way, after putting in about 200 hours on ps4, I bought it again on PC when both expansions came out and put in another 300ish hours. I got bored of Skyrim after 50.

Plox It depends on when you played it. The ppl that played it during its 1st year are the ones who swear by everything in this game. Having just started playing it in December 2019 it’s very underwhelming. Mainly b/c I was expecting the best game ever since that’s what everyone says it is. I had already played RDR2 and AC Odyssey. Both very similar in ways and to me they took Witcher 3 ideas and improved on them. I think if I played it in 2015 I would have been blown away. There’s just too many similar games that have come out since then and refined what the Witcher 3 introduced.

Thanks for not just trashing Andromeda, I loved the combat in that game and the story line. People couldn't get past the graphic glitches and a bugs, so don't get me labeled as white knight for the game who thinks it didn't have issues but I had so much fun I played though again making different choices.

you gamers should try Assassin's Creed Odyssey. It might not be the best Assassin's Creed game, But it's definitely one of the best game ever made. i finished it today and i gotta say its a true masterpiece. the sound of assassinating here and there is so satisfying.

Coming from someone who personally played it, Mafia 3 was not a good game. The story started off strong with a compelling lead, but the further you progressed, the more apparent it became that you were just doing the same thing over and over again. Eventually, the story lost its substance and the main character lost his charm. All that was left were copy and pasted missions in a decent open world. However, if you're someone that's fascinated by the culture of the 60's, then the game might be worth checking out at the least.

I'm aware of all these great games and perhaps I've played many of them. I'm in search of an open world game that's explorable and I can get lost in and that I haven't played, I guess there isn't one for now. I'm yearning to play Dying Light 2 of course, I think that's what I really want to play more than anything right now.
Try RDR2, it's an awesome game, just a warning the game has a slow pace and most people didn't like the gameplay that much (I didn't had any problems with it, but still)

Some of the games are the worst open world games... why is mafia 3 and mass effect andromeda in there? They're just thrown in there fot the name value.
Anyone else think Shadow of Mordor > Shadow of War. While SOW is bigger and the nemesis system is more fleshed out, I just thought SOM was an overall more fun experience.
But I'm not a mmorpg fan, and SOW felt more akin to that than SOM's more single player style experience. Also I didn't love the combat changes with how the counters and executions worked in SOW.
EDIT: And SOM felt much more like a Lord of the Rings story; while SOW went full OC Fan fic. SOW felt more of an open world war playground with Lord of the Rings elements while SOM felt very much like an untold Lord of the Rings story narratively and structurally.

Yakuza is nt really a fast open world game with i big place to explore ye there is lots of stuff to do like the sidequests, learning new skills, fishing, playing in arcades, playing darts, dancing and singing but the overworld is to small to reallly be on this list
(i only played the original yakuza 0 and yakuza kiwami so maby another yakuza game is more openworld than these but this is from my expirience)

I can understand that people hate on Gta 5 because of the pay 2 win in online. And the combat is not that good too, especially the fist/ melee combat. But come on, Gta 5 is an amazing game even if it has its problems. The story is really good and the open world is good too with many missions both in story and online.
