Yeah, Hello Games with No Man's Sky showed what can actually happen to a game if their developers are given time to finish the game. The amount of updates it's had has put the game way above what we were promised from the game..
When my step brother moved in, he brought with him an Xbox and Driver 3. I hadn't played a GTA game yet, so Driver 3 was amazing to me. Even though I finally experienced San Andreas a year after that and saw what actual good driving games could be, there's still a special place in my heart and memory for Driv3r.
Driver 3 was the first GTA like game I played. I enjoyed the hell out of the cop chases and how they caused more damage to everything when they tried to stop me. Hilarious!
The thing I have been noticing with current open-world games is that the main storylines are too short. If you don't do all of the side missions then you end up completing the game in a few hours.
Agreed, I'd rather have a large, fleshed out story along with the side missions. Something you can play for hours to get through the story, and then continue playing for hours doing the side quests
@@benrichards5160 depends, if you're padding your runtime with repetitive fetch quests and recycled mission structures similar to Skyrim or farcry it isn't fun at all. The Witcher 3 did it in a clever way and some missions still ended up feeling like a rehash of earlier quests.

Hey guys, to put in my two cents on Driver 3 or Driv3r as I believe it was titled… the car handling and car physics I always felt were fantastic, tearing around the city streets and yanking the hand break to flick your car sideways and drifting round every bend was just great addictive fun. Agreed the rest of the game was certainly a little lacklustre, outside the car movement on foot was nowhere near GTA, but the car physics and overall driving was where this game was great.
Yeah it's kinda sad, really. Like the first saints row was a GTA clone but they branched out and became a thing in it's own right, and by saints row 4 you can really tell how far it's come, only for AoM to come out and boom, crackdown but saints row "kind of"

I'm sure it's sacrilege, but one game that really ruined my expectations was Outer Worlds by Obsidian Entertainment. I felt each map or area was quite small by open world standards, and a lot of fast traveling back and forth as a result. Disappointing considering Fallout New Vegas was one of the best open world games in my opinion.
I saw a “before you buy” on Homefront and was gutted as I had the same anticipation for it, I had brought it by the point so didn’t pick up and play it for 2 years, one day I decided to Chuck it on (Xbox) and had no major bugs/glitches so found it to be alright, it’s not amazing or ground breaking in anyway, but certainly way better than when it was released clearly!
i think the problem is the core gameplay/gameplay loop. hot take, but i really enjoyed homefront. homefront: tr, however, had some of the worst driving, gunplay, and general gameplay within the scope of gaming that it set out to accomplish. i can’t remember what all was wrong with it, but i remember enjoying it until i started to truly get out in the world and do shit, and i said aloud multiple times “wow this is bad”

Just playing through Homefront Revolution on the PC now. Have to say I'm loving it, underrated games. Loved the first one and whilst this isn't as good, generally FPS open worlds are not for me anymore. Love taking over the map. Again I was a fan of Driver 3 but hated San Francisco. Also Nice that's not even remotely close.
Ahhh Dynasty Warriors. That takes me back to my brother's apartment. Both of us reeking of our jobs; him of popcorn me of Papa Nurgle's...I mean Papa John's! Swilling cheap beer and screaming "BATTLE!!!" while we slaughtered thousands. I miss that life. No stress, the world hadn't fallen apart in the lamest way, we both made two maybe three dollars an hour more than minimum wage and actually had money left after bills.
Wow I haven't heard anyone mention driv3r in forever! Honestly I used to love that game! however I could never figure out the missions at the time so I just ran around in the open world and drove cars. Even found a secret yellow sports car in a garage a few times! But yeah I do remember wanting to do more in that game growing up. But something about the driving physics and crash animations kept me coming back. I loved that game growing up but looking back now, yeah it had issues. I just have nostalgia for that game.
I mostly disagree with your take on Agents of Mayhem. I rather enjoyed myself in that world overall. The bases were mostly copies of one another, its true, but at least they varied it slightly in that some would self destruct toward the end. I enjoyed the characters and liked building interesting teams and felt the city size was good for what the game did. If you treated it like a Saturday morning cartoon and turned your brain off a little, it generally felt like a fun time (though some of the grinding got out of control).
For an update, I'm half way through Homefront Revolution on the XOne and I havent encountered any bugs and it's smooth play so far on the campaign mode. The weapon switch control could be better I think, by switching to previous weapon instead of the pistol everytime and make a "take cover" button to take cover from enemies and maybe a little more intelligent AI but that's the main complaints I've got. It's no super hero action game but it has more realism parts that I like and is just different than the normal shooter. Maybe I'm just being too forgiving tho. 😄 hopefully if they make a sequel, it'll be made better. The #2 game was insane tho. Good video.
Was a bit surprised Batman and Robin Ps1 isn't on this list Edit: so a day later and I finally understood why it's not on this list. Batman and Robin was an awesome game, with tons of amazing features. We need a remaster or an entirely new Batman game with similar gameplay ( better graphics and controls)
Played Homefront: The Revolution a few years back and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. Sure, it had some jank, but I found it to be an otherwise pretty cool game. The DLC's were also alright, especially Beyond the Wall.
Those developers are working on dead island 2 and I have hope for it. Those developers are given a second chance to make it right and I can't wait to see their work

The thing with this list and Metal Gear Survive is this list is about games that screwed their expectations, and no one ever expected MG Survive to be anything less than a total shitshow.
I was excited for it initially before anything really was known about it, the moment I lost all hope is when Kojima vehemently rejected the notion that he had anything to do with that garbage.
I actually liked DR4. DR2 was the best one for me but I had a good time running through 4. It was still goofy over the top fun and it's always fun to chop up zombies with crafted weapons wearing ridiculous costumes.
I thought 4 was fun when I played through it the 1st time but once I did finish it there was no reason to play it again. 2 and 2OtR got me playing through at least 3 times in succession and 3 got me playing through it multiple times over a long period of time. It also doesn't help that 4's true ending was locked behind a pay wall. That was the thing that made me get rid of the game. I still own 2, 2OtR and 3. I own 1 as well but I didn't buy that till many years later and after it released on PS4.
should be called the top 10 Money Grabs, or the games which are not worth your time since the developers rushed them out unpolished and buggy AF. Even if they are going for $5 on epic or steam, that's $5 wasted that could have been spent on a subway sandwich or to put gas in the hooptie.
Basically this video showed me that major Devs try really hard to try and replicate what’s “hot” and blend it into their game it’s starting to turn like the music industry, but instead they leech off the community that builds the reputation and love of their games. Granted, we don’t donate money we don’t participate in the making of the game, but we support them when they come out only to deliver mid level games that are unfinished.
Exactly what I thought. The driving was really realistic at the time and everything felt very detailed.
It shoulda been the 10th one
I thoroughly enjoyed the survival mode. Straight to high level police, don’t die
Agents of Mayhem looks like a crackdown clone.
Yeah it's kinda sad, really. Like the first saints row was a GTA clone but they branched out and became a thing in it's own right, and by saints row 4 you can really tell how far it's come, only for AoM to come out and boom, crackdown but saints row "kind of"
@@Psychoticpudge Too bad four was awful. I mean better than han Mayhem but that was a low bar.
@@palladiamorsdeus saints row 4 was a brilliant game....
SR4 is awesome. Games like Saints Row are great when they stop taking themselves too seriously. Thats’s exactly what they did in SR4, and I loved it.

The cyberpunk cover up omg. Love the channel btw

Watchdogs Legion; *Exists*
A lot of them went onto work on the crew and forza. Fantastic games.
@@Spratdragon Now you are getting ahead of your self calling the crew/crew 2 fantastic games
@@1738-l1j I really enjoy the second. It didn't release in a great state unfortunately like many games. Since though. Constant free updates and content even three years later. It's heaps of fun with friends. Still roads I have never driven. No other driving game has done that.
@@Spratdragon true. But I'm highlighting that Falcon mentioned the Driver Series has been MIA when the Watch Dog series are Driver games.
Cyberpunk failing was such a bummer, after cd project red's witcher 3 you'd think that their next game would be better but sadly not
The story is pretty good tho
They still can improve the game, like they did with the Witcher 3

What a shockingly dogshit game lol.

You’re missing anthem ,cyberpunk , and the last of us 2 on this list
Tlou 2 isn't open world and it's not even that disappointing...

I loved that game.
Parallel Lines is amazing indeed.
I think you mean Driv3r
Nice, the French city in driver is pronounced like Niece
its been 5 years since ive watched you guys, insane your still on the grind

"Where's Driver now?" Shoot, where's GTA now? Last time I checked we've gotten a single game out of them in the last decade
Totally forgot Atlus was a thing, dayum
Falcon said that it launched with a ton of hype. That hype must have missed me, because I hadn't heard of it before now.
I played Driv3r and loved every moment, beating it was so satisfying
I played it when I was fairly young like 12 and I fuckin loved it. Shooting people and stealing their cars til I die and explore everywhere for HOURS. that’s all I did. Prolly didn’t even beat tm the first ten missions lmao
That title is a weird way of writing Cyberpunk 2077
Facts!!!
Lol why you trying to run it on last gen. It works fine for real gamers who play on pc and current gen.
@@MrFox101 Uh maybe they marketed and sell it for the system?
@@khoado2060 Anyone with a brain knew it would be trash on ps4 and xbox one.
#3 You forgot to mention how generic they made all the weapons for the characters (they used to be unique, but now they are all the same)
For an update, I'm half way through Homefront Revolution on the XOne and I havent encountered any bugs and it's smooth play so far on the campaign mode. Good video.
Was a bit surprised Batman and Robin Ps1 isn't on this list
Edit: so a day later and I finally understood why it's not on this list.
Those developers are given a second chance to make it right and I can't wait to see their work
Driver parallel lines was good. It starts off in the past the updates to the future with a whole new look with in the game. Sorta. For its time it was dope.
Totally agreed. That game was sick
Ok it’s has to be a running gag that falcon intentionally mispronounces something just to get people to comment 😂
Lol he pronounced Santa Monica as Santa Moneeca on one, I'll never forget it
I surprisingly enjoyed deadrising 4. It wasn’t nearly as intense as the other games but was still some arcade type fun
Home Front the Rev- is a great game that is deff worth a try in 2021. Remember to take these vids with a spoonful of salt and try them yourselves before taking advice from a grown man that calls himself falcon and pretends to be a cartoon bird..
They're game reviewers. It's their job to give their thoughts and personal opinions on games. What an ignorant comment. But then again, I expect nothing less from a grown person that dedicated their entire life (40+ comments? Metal gear survive should be on this list. I mean, Fox engine + metal gear couldnt go wrong, could it?
Cyberpunk too, ruined a lot of expectations
Metal Gear Survive should be number 1. However maybe it's not on the list cause everyone expected it to be shit.

Support small Indy Devs, they actually make good games and still have passion with the small teams that are working on whatever project they’re on. The small devs are STILL gamers like us.
