- As part of Gaijin's new roadmap, there's been a lot of amazing changes. One of those was the recent roadmap announcement with foldering vehicles and moving some up in rank. The F-5C, one of the most popular premiums War Thunder has ever seen, is one of them.

I cried a little bit inside when i saw this post earlier. I dunno why we need a F-16C right now when we dont even have an F-15A yet. Of course the possibility remains that we still get the F-15A this update but i feel that getting an F-16C nullifies the impact of the F-15A's arrival if they both drop in the same update

Personally, I really like the armored belts using the 20mm! They're actually really good at starting fires with only 1 or 2 hits. So it's essentially 12.7 APIT that sparks less.
Same. I've found they're also a lot more consistent against well armored planes like the SU-25 and the A-10 which are absolutely ubiquitous at that BR.
Poor Lee, so disappointed with the F-16 that he had to play the F-15C without the 1 in it...

I'm so happy as I am currently grinding tier 7 so when the F5C becomes a tier 7 it will fit perfectly in time for me to grind out tier 8.

yep i got it on sale because i was tired of getting my mig19 missiled on custom lobby and always wanted a cool dogfight plane. It's also a great rb platform and the aim9E work wonders head on against MiG23 ML launching r24t.
Been playing for a year with a friend and only got to rank 2 but he gifted me this last week and I grinded all the way to rank 6 already so this is awesome to hear

They said premiums that get moved will have their prices adjusted accordingly

@igorlopes8638 even if it is a BR increase, it will be 10.7 at the absolute most. And I doubt that will happen since it greatly underperforms compared to the F-5E

Also played this today for a couple of hours I unlocked all 5.3 to 6.7 used napalm x2 aime x2 also got 3mil sl and being on console not very good at AB shows how good it is as a grinder
i'm mad that the leopard 2a4 premium GER is moved up but I bought the Leo1 L44 that made sense when both were rank 6, but now I just get screwed

It's a rank increase not BR increase. The F5C is still stupid good at its BR as it is due to its flight performance
ive found myself getting 1 to 2 kills 70 percent of my games with the missiles. I would highly recommend buying this premium
For me I don’t need to go down the f-16 line or Atacker line since I have the A6E and the f5!
This literally makes me so happy. I have all the fighters for rank 7 but I have rank 5 attackers💀 I need one more plane for rank 8 and hopefully the f5c will do that

i've been playing f-5c for some time and i gotta say it's the best dogfighter i've ever played and it's also really good sl grinder because it gives you a good amount of sl for each kill

When i see devblog about another F16 i'm feel disappointed. We have bombcat, this f-16 we dont need. So, F-15 didnt come in this patch, but i still have hope for a teaser with f-15

go for the f8e an dont settle for the f8u. the wings are horrible on the f8u. the 8e has better wings an gets radar missiles an if you really want, you can use bombs an more rockets on the 8e
regarding your experience with the f-5E, I've gotten few 10.7-9.7 games, they mostly were 11.3-10.3 and it was pretty painful to do good against planes that are 300kmh faster than you at sea level, especially considering that F-5E feels more like a plane with it's limitations instead of feeling like an arcade mode sort of thing with infinite nose authority; which is weird because F-5E has leading edge extensions to pull more AOA but doesn't pull any on the game.
Edit: The F-5E is my highest stat plane with 4 kill death ratio and 2.0k/b in it, it's a good 1v1 plane but people can literally decide just not to engage you. Just a reminder that thing was 11.0 while being a copy paste MiG19PT with two of the worst short range missiles of rank 6+, while J7E being the absolute best dogfighter in the entire game, faster, more powerful and four long range 30g missiles shared the same BR.
Bruh the f5E is fucking insane if you are ass in that jet or don’t think it’s good you’ve got to be one of the worst on the game

I have nearly 700 matches in the f5c and over 900 kills. In my experience the aim 9es are actually really good in this br if you use them correctly, over half of my kills are with the aim9e but you just need to know when and how to fire them. Just my personal opinion

It gains 1,000 RP per minute of gameplay. 1,000!! PER MINUTE!! It's no friggin wonder everyone uses the damn thing.
Also this helps me out SO much because I was originally going to have to research like 6 extra vehicles just to get to tier 8 Even though I am on the F-5E about to reach the F-16 and F3H so the two F-8 and the F-4 to reach F-14. Now with the F5C being tier 7 that is like 6 less I am forced to research. So I can just finish the F-5E then research both F-8 and the F-4 and I will be able to research F-16 and F-14 at my choosing(Which one do you think it's gonna be lol)

And with the next patch they will folder the f16a and adf together, so you can grind the f16C by researching only one of those two!

I wish i bought the F-5C over the SPS-K a year ago. It's complete suffering, and even now that this jet is going to rank 7... bruh, I wasted 30 gaijin coins, when i grinded like 200 hours for it... it's like i lost 200 hours of progress for no reason...

F-16 Block 50 looks meh though won't get any of the fun stuff it should come with.
I respectfully disagree with your statement about the AV-8, it's a far harder plane to fly for the constant 10.3 games you'll have, I have about 600 battles in all variants of the harrier, except for the GR.7 (all with a K/D above 2). When you are top-tier it's great, when at 10.0 it's very vulnerable, but at 10.3 and 10.7 you're instantly dead. Missiles at those BR's aren't really the main method to get kills, unless playing against idiots. (Or radarmissiles).
The F-5C is an absolute unit, it's very easy to get a K/D above 3 with it. And still extremely good against 11.3 jets, it's very easy to get them to overshoot or turn into their circle.
You're right about the matchmaker. 9.7 is non-stop uptiers rn.
I'll be honest, I like the F4S ALOT more. My games in the F5C have been very unlucky. Only US team vs literally every other nation
F5C id busted, u Can handle 1v1 easily and even multiple opponents at the same Time. just keep your speed high and wait for them to make a mistake, they will get impatient and take unecessary risks. F5C is a Jack of all trades, it does everything more than average.
I stop ya right there @@LeBron_888 , I have never, from this aircraft entire existence since the 2021 Export Order, EVER seen an single F-5 do a 1v1, let alone win it. They all the single biggest rats in the entire game.
@LeBron_69 I'm uploading a video where I pulled off a 1v3 against 2 Mid 29s and a 23 in the F4S to win a game. The F4S is honestly better and more fun

@@ricolives1166, it depends mate. It's decently easy to get kills at top tier if you have a PD radar. I'm playing f4j from time to time as I like the plane, and it's HMD, coz f14 and f16 lack it and get decent games, sometimes 5K if enemies are dumb enough. On your short, especially these two migs played it extreaaaamly poorly, otherwise 4s stand no chance against well played 12.0. Whereas f5c is essentially a top dog in it's BR, and personally, getting kills with it gives a proper dopamine shot, as oppose to locking enemy on radar, shooting an aim7 and the job is done.

I don't have the f-5c and I have been playing for a while now completeing the whole german air tech tree. I've been wanting the f-5c for a while now trying to get it gifted to me via giveaways which obviously hasn't worked. But know they are upping the price meaning I probably wont ever get it ):

I'm all kinds of fucked up. I own the A10a , F-4s and F-5c. Been using them a ton and just unlocked the F-4c , F-4j , F-4e , f-14a and f-14b. Can someone PLEASE tell me why out of all these awesome planes the 2 i use the most are the F-5c and F-4c. I think it's the gunpods myself. Something about being slow and powerful brings me joy.

1. Wait for sales. It will cost you 35$ instead of 60 or 70
2. Maybe learn how to play jets/watch tutorials.
3.Get premium time. For 40$ (during sales) you get 1 year of premium time. You will not loose money from battles, increased research points and sl.

The AA on the F5C will make it fail at rank 7, the basics of the F5C also won't really teach you much with the top tier planes. Its shit now, will be more shit at rank 7 and it being in rank 7 isn't a buff.

I have great success with the missiles. But thats because I only launch them from above at targets going less than mach .8 and when I am shooting from above. People cant out pull them and they also dont have sufficient time to flare. I also save them for later in the match because then most people have spent all their countermeasures, making it easier.
Hopefully they give it the aim9j tho to make it better and if it sticks with aim9e I'm buying a6e or f4s

But still, F-5C is just too god dang strong, and it just denies your existence no matter the planes, the only one that can fight it are soviet MiG-21s and a few French ones.
@@emth12389 then if it is so bad, why so many people praise it? cannon HAVE the HIGHEST velocity, not 'best 20 hur dur' that goes to the M61 Vulcan. Missiles arent even considered on a GUN FIGHTER which is what this thing is, but essentialy dumber 9Js which themselves are dumber 9Ls. at 10.3 it is the best fly model, try to fight one when half of the vehicles there are delta wings.
but hey, playing the game for 7 years is apparently not enough time to know anything about the game, gotta grind more I guess.
