I would trust your sewing competence even if you owned 11 million unicorn figurines.
Truth!
ESPECIALLY because she owns 11 million unicorn figurines!
I’ve watched her video where she make a the unicorn shelf countless time. I can’t explain why I like it so much.
@@lauracarrier6158 it’s just. So. Satisfying. To watch another nerd take such care over their collection! For me, anyway.
@@lauracarrier6158 It's the unicorns that make her schiesty. She uses them to cast an enchantment that even works on infants and old women. Angela Clayton has mesmerized both my mother and my grand daughters. I know a couple other CosTubers who have them -- the unicorns-- same result to a lesser degree because they don't own as many.
I dunno, I think green hair and over 200 tiny unicorn statues makes me trust you more.
I also think the finished dress looks phenomenal on you...you’re an astoundingly beautiful person!
No UA-camr has ever been so relatable as when you said that, due to past traumas, you generally avoid using invisible zippers in your own creations
Agreed, heartily.
This needs to be like a whole series of queen's gambit outfits. I love her white dress with the button tab shoulders that she wears in mexico.
This deceptively tricky project turned out so beautifully. I think the dress is lovely and you in it. Also puppy in the snow is to cute.
If it’s deceptively tricky - it seemed really difficult but turned out super simple, right?
Totally agree with you about the show XD I definitely stuck with watching it for mostly the aesthetic and like 3% the plot. Deceptively difficult projects are the WORST but this turned out gorgeous!!!
I 100% agree with you on the review. I felt the same and certainly hope no one sends you nasty DMs about it. The dress looks really great well done on overcoming the technical challenges.
I too agree with the review. Also the best part of the show are the clothes' .
While I don't share Angela's opinion of the show, I thought I would explain why I loved it since it seemed as though some don't understand why others do.
In my case, I thought the show did an excellent job demonstrating how differences (in the show's case, an extreme talent) affect people and how they can be extremely isolating. The bigger the difference, the more isolating it becomes. For Beth, her difference isolated her not only physically by bringing her to competitions all over the country/world, but also socially by making it hard to relate to other people. But the show also shows the flip side because in the end Beth finds through chess a wonderful community of close friends who understand her.
While Beth's talent is an extreme example of a difference, everybody has a difference that sets them about from others, whether it be a talent, a disability, or otherwise, and can therefore see themselves in Beth. The show demonstrates the complex ways differences affect people. How they can isolate but also provide community. How they can be a source of hardship but also a source of pride.
And in the end, the show demonstrates how once Beth is able to find healthy coping mechanisms and outlets for the isolation and difficulties her difference generates for her, her perspective of her difference is able to change to become more positive. Since everybody has their own differences, this is a lesson that everybody can apply to their own life.
That is why I found the show relatable, thought provoking, and overall enjoyable.
I always appreciate your candor on your projects. Sewing can be really difficult and I love how honest you are about it.
The costuming and set design was what made Queen's Gambit for me. I agree that it was pretty predictable.
Great dress, as always! On first glance I thought that you had dyed your hair red! I'm glad you still have your green hair though.
The dress turned out great! And I appreciate the honest review..... not everyone has to jump on the band wagon
I didn’t realize we’re practically the same size and height! This dress is so so beautiful and I feel very inspired to make more vintage garments
Personally, I'm more likely to trust someone with bright green hair and hundreds of unicorn figurines than many others. At least there's a better chance of honesty! Love your humour and your skills. You make the day happy. Thank you!
I'm not really a fan of gingham so I didn't think I'd see a dress in it I actually like :o Well fought and the result looks really good!
I never would’ve thought to turn it on the diagonal. I plan to make a sundress and I think I will make it out of black gingham.
Hi Angela!! Absolutely gorgeous.. That twirl is absolutely stunning.. Posie playing in the snow is priceless....
💜💜💜🧵🧵🧵
Well, this makes me feel better about being on my third toile trying to figure out how to get properly fitting pants. Never give up!
better to do a hundred toiles than try it with your good fabric and ruin it!
the swirl is literally magical. i've never seen something just float like that irl, congrats!!
You’re actually so funny, you should let your humor show more in videos. I enjoy your videos the most when you are enjoying and being yourself
Idk in my experience, the more unicorn statues a person has the more trustworthy they are
The dress turned out super cute, and I think your pup likes it too. ❤
Love the bonus doggy footage your dress is beautiful and your dog is adorable
This is so beautiful! And who gives a fluff if people don't understand why you didn't like the show; didn't get the hype over it either. You do you and keep making your beautiful creations.
It's a beautiful dress. I'm so happy you persevered so we could see the end result.
I made mine with the 2903, but yeah, I felt the struggle with the bias cuts too. I love your version, and the beautiful swish!
The movement of the skirt! 😻😻
LOVE this dress...I don't watch ANY TV shows at all. only sewing videos and enjoy yours. Please don't apologise for your life choices. We're all different.
The dress turned out just wonderful! So swishy but without a ton of seams, just perfect. And I loved the music for this video, it was perfect for it.
Stunning. I'm so impressed by your drafting skills.
Nailed it! Bonus points for the snow shots.
The outfits I’m obsessed with and would love to have from that show are the dress she wears in Paris when she loses and the outfit at the end of the show with the hat and everything. I love the costuming so much!
Your dress is absolutely fabulous ! And the twirl 🤩🤩🤩 !
Just amazing! 😍 The swirl factor can never be understated
Dress looks great. Didn’t realize there was a collar. I thought it was a fabric inset. Glad you persevered.
This is the cutest dress! I think I need to become a patron because there are 3 cuts of gingham staring at me, wanting to become this dress. Just too cute for words.
This is a very inconsequential comment but when you mentioned how hard it was to reconstruct this dress even with your skill!! I’m a beginner and I hate how often I fail. But, hearing you say it took almost nine tries reminds me that sewing is just super hard!
Your green hair will look amazing with that dress!
What a great dress. Beautiful Angela
Princess seam swirly skirt, sooo cute!! Glad to see miss pup is enjoying the snow!
You look fabulous in this dress.
I trimmed my circle skirt for the first time this week because of your videos 💕 I didn’t realize there would be so much of a difference !!!
Gorgeous dress and you look fab in it!! Thanks for sharing
Oh my gosh, I want this dress! So stunning
This is so gorgeous!
My mind could not figure out those pleats/gores/whatever those are on the skirt!!! I was OBSESSED
I think you did wonderful. Also oh my gosh Posie in the snow makes my heart happy 💙💜 I hope she is feeling better!
I think the dress is beautiful and the dog adorable.
This is lovely! Wonderful work!
Wow that was masterful. The dress is lovely & you are brilliant. Thanks luv💐🌿🌷💗
Did you solve that problem of the loopy thread of your industrial machine? I am interested in how it ended!
It turned out wonderful, you look great!
Wow you have some serious skills! I watched the video all the way through thinking the entire time I wish she lived nearby so I could have her make shirts for me. I stumbled onto your video looking for vintage men's wear vids. Glad I did.
I love how honest you are with the process
I find myself getting frustrated and giving up on some projects...i just need to get back at it with a fresh start
I'm so in love with the gored aspect of this dress!! You're very talented and I'm so happy you share stuff like this ^_^
I do love this dress...also...I want the hello kitty unicorn
I went back and blew up the the vid part where we see the show and the dress, and yours is better. When I look closely at the bodice of the dress in the show, it looks kind of rumply, like it isn't sewn or fitted well? Yours is definitely better.
The dress looks wonderful on you! Also, thanks for the dog content at the end :D
Love this! You're amazing! I've watched the show three more times after the initial time just for the costumes! Great work and CUTE PUPPY!
I just watched you dye your hair green, I'm so confused! You bamboozled me 🤣 oh it's a wig hahaha
Wow! Wonderful on every level, from planning, redesigning, adding details to layout, cutting, and sewing! Thank you so much!
I just got back from hobby lobby and who didn’t tell me angela was a fricken pattern catalogue model!!!
Very pretty dress!!! It fits so well and I love the movement. Looks like Posey is enjoying the snow ❄️
Your dog frolicking in the snow is the wholesome content the world needs.
I ♥️ it. You did an awesome job.
Red hair look gorgeous on you
So heckin cute!
The green hair and 200 unicorn statues comment literally made me laugh out loud! Man, did I need that chuckle! Thank you for that awesome sense of humor! That just ended a rough day on a fun note. And I haven't seen The Queen's Gambit, but that dress came out super cute!
The dress is so cute! And Posie is an absolute darling
Don't feel bad about not liking the show. I have to admit I haven't even watched it yet. The dress as expected is adorable on you.
Beautiful dress i think better fit than in the queens gambit..the fashion in the show was terrific...i did love the queens gambit
Great job!!
I felt exactly the same way about The Queens Gambit. I found the charter hard to get to know- she had walls up the entire time that kept her aloof and I wasn't that interested in her as a character but I did watch it all and it was ok. I just didn't get the why people LOVED it.
It's so swishy!
This dress is beautiful and looks lovely on you. Great job!
Beautiful beautiful dress. Even if it wasn't ment to Beth's dress I would love it just as much. As always you sew, and pattern draft so spectacularly.
There is a difference between 'culturally important' and 'entertaining' most media doesn't fall into both categories, and that's okay! I'm glad you ended up with a dress that swished so nicely and I can't wait to see what other projects you choose to share in the future.
The final result looks great, and many opportunities for swishing about when the weather warms up later in the year! 😃 Your dedication to the photos, and posing in the snow is to be commended. I tip my hat to you in appreciation. 🎩 Posie also looks so cute bouncing around in the snow. 🐶
OOoooo do all the show's dresses!! 😍 ps you're giving me major Lucille vibes today, lovely
Great dress and put together look.
Even though your wig is 'crappy' the style is super cute and flattering.
Awesome video and dress ❤️
it looks so pretty thoooo!!!! i love how that skirt sits on the body it's so flattering
This dress looks amazing, and it's such a flattering shape!! I am SO tempted to get the pattern and try one for myself 😍
This was a really interesting topic for a video. I too loved the dress & you did a superb job. It took me forever to get through Queens Gambit as well.
Stunning! Love this dress!
You did an awesome job I think the dress is beautiful and it looks beautiful on you!
Yes please, more dog frolicking in the snow videos.
I love the dress, you did an amazing job as always.
honestly the bright green hair and like 200 tiny unicorn statues makes me trust you MORE
They have Tokidoki’s at Sonics lol I saw it and thought of you.
Love it!!
The dress is lovely, and you look beautiful in it (wig and all)!! And I loved seeing your studio assistant playing around you at the end...: the Queen's Gambol!
Great job. It looks good. I think the thing people loved about the Queen's Gambit was her struggles. She had girl power, she wasn't afraid of anything. So overly confident. But she also had that addiction that started off young and went with her throughout the entire show. It showed she wasn't a super hero, she was vulnerable, human. But she wasn't stupid just fighting inner loneliness. That's what people liked about it. And in the end she won the chess championship for the USA in Russia. I think you should smile more. I know things get sad and depressing, but you do have a beautiful smile. And it would look great with your beautiful outfits you showcase at the end of your videos. Trust me, smiling sells the idea of making these outfits more, and you'll look like you actually want to make these videos.
I had to learn to smile as a belly dance performer. They would tell me, all the best shimmies and movements won't let them believe you're enjoying yourself on stage unless you smile big to let them see your happiness when you dance. Then they'll believe you actually enjoy this stuff too. And they would tell me, you're not going to sell to me that you are all that and a bag of potato chips without an award winning smile. Lol. So now every time I dance I think of that funny saying, smile so they will see that I am all that and a bag of potato chips! Lmao
Great share, keep it up, you're doing great.
What are the seams called in the original that look like a rounded box pleat in the skirt around the gores? I sat here the whole video trying to work out how the blazes one would accomplish those. Regardless of my own sewing ineptitude, this dress turned out lovely and I thoroughly enjoyed your explanation on how you got to your result.
Beautiful dress! I'm curious why you sewed the extension onto the bottom instead of just adding a black facing to the outside of the hem?
I dont know about the others but I love your tiny unicorn collection it reminds me of mine😁🦄🦄🦄❤ they all have unicorn envy
Love this! Did you ever consider making matching human and dog outfits!
Oh my love the dress and love the hair beautiful
The green hair and unicorns only serve to make me trust you MORE.
Better than the original 😻
the show is more about her battle with addiction and personal issues when u pay attention i watched it before i saw any trailers or anything and i didnt even know it was about chess in the beginning
I also didn’t love the show that much. I have issues with shows that romanticize self destructive behavior, no matter how well it’s presented.
And to me it seems quite a few people fall for a hype, just because it’s a hype.
💯👍👏👌❤️ The dress is beautiful, i also love the jacket.
