As someone who owns a pair of mens renaissance breeches, that is in fact what they are called, is “pumpkin breeches” because of the very fact they resemble pumpkins!! So it’s perfect!!
I've honestly been waiting for someone to make pumpkin pants like these for decades, because that was my first thought when I saw them in my illustrated fairytale books as a young child.
This turned out stinking cute… I loved your previous silly pants and these are just as awesome, the hat is *chefs kiss*. I hope you were able to salvage the shoes.
Yay Halloween is now officially here because we have Angie's pumpkin project! Seriously, this Halloween has been lackluster and this is exactly what I needed this morning. Happy Halloween
It turned out fantastic! I bet the gentlemen in your inspiration book would be deeply aggrieved and jealous, and would probably have at you with their rapiers! An epic job!
I loved this one! It reminds me of those pants the Swiss Guard wears when in service of the pope, just more pumpkin-y. Did you get those shoes cleaned or were they a lost cause?
That pumpkin hat is freaking adorable! Speaking of pumpkin patch projects, is there any chance of McCalls ever turning your fabulous striped redingote into a pattern?
"Ridiculous renaissance pumpkin pants" is just comedic gold! Looking forward to the rest of the video, I really love your videos. I find the way you make them and voice over very relaxing! ☺️🧡🎃
Oh my goodness! I've just started watching and I'm already amazed. What a fantastic and beautiful pumpkin suit. Your creativity knows no bounds! The fabric is perfect for the combining of colour, pattern, style, and context. A perfect interpretation and amalgamation of autumn, pumpkins and renaissance mens wear. Wonderful! I think you could start a new fashion with these. 😆 Definitely needs to be a new commercial pattern! And 'Pooof Allowance' is definitely a technical term!
This looked like such a fun project! And the final creation gives me such joy! I must say, I liked the orange fabric to begin with...and then you took off the beads and the fabric looked amazing. You have such an eye for beautiful fabrics and the dedication to make them even more beautiful, I'm so envious! Happy Halloween!
This is one of the most delightful projects ever! Across the entire internet! You work so hard with such a huge amount of patience I am amazed. Back when I was in my 20's someone mentioned that I had such patience for such tiny details in my sewing. I rather shrugged it off. Now I understand. I stand amazed at what lengths you went to to bring us this wonderful ensemble. Your fabric, patterns, supplies and machine hand you difficulty and you work the problem until you have a fix. You're an amazing woman, Angela. Someday you may end up owning a large part of whatever part of the costuming/fashion/clothing/fabric/pattern industry you decide you'd like to own. I hope I live long enough to congratulate you on it. Your problem solving skills would transfer to any industry on the planet. Major kudos.
This makes me so happy! What a great outfit! Also, I think it's fitting that your shoes get a little muddy, like you are really part of the pumpkin patch.
Awesome- thank you so much for sharing this with us! I love this outfit & the photos look fab. I'm not sure many people would have been able to pull off this look, but you certainly did! The hat was what I needed this Halloween! Now my spoopy season is complete 🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
I love this soooo much!! I've been struggling a bit lately, but you have been helping me learn how to sew and just generally cheering me up with your delightfulness. This project was extra delightful!! Please don't stop making beautiful whimsical frocks of all kinds :-)
This outfit is LOVELY! The construction is gorgeous, and I love seeing you try out new silhouettes and periods!! It's clear how much joy this filled you with to make and to wear. It's infectious!!
I love this Renaissance menswear direction 😍 I hope that other youtubers will follow you down the rabbit hole, and that someday I build up the confidence to try something myself. You look magnificent! And pumpkin-y!
Love the pumpkin Beefeater costume bc it looks like on of Queen Elizabeth I's Tower guards woke up one morning and said to himself. 'Today I want to wear pumpkins.
This is the best costume I've seen so far this year! I can't imagine how long (hours) it took to make this and you make it look effortless! The hat deserves the chef's kiss. Amazing and thank you for sharing. P.S. The dress you wore for the New York party was stunning and you were definitely the most sophisticated there! I hope you had a good time!
🧡🎃🦇🧡🎃🦇🧡🎃🧡🎃🦇🧡🎃🦇Not only gorgeous but, BRILLIANT. You looked beautiful (although I did laugh when your foot disappeared into the mud). The muddy pumpkin patch was the perfect place for your photo. Perfectly gorgeous!! The hat is beyond brilliant. The Appliqués of lace and sequins were … (I just can’t even think of enough superlatives) … elegant. It’s ok even if it wasn’t perfect in your eyes, you looked perfectly gorgeous. You are simply, not just simply but totally amazing: An artist, designer, crafts woman, needle woman, coordinator, fabricator, pattern maker, etc. you are the best. 🥇 attached herewith is a first place ribbon for this marvelous costume. Enlarge this in your imagination, you deserve it. Great job. 🥰🙏☺️
The whole leg-torso patterning and attaching looks tricky. This looks so wrong, and yet, like huge shoulder pads or massive paniers, if you look at long enough, you go, But of course! It's perfect! THe color is so, YES!! Orange and BLACK!! ANd yes, I do need a pumpkin beret.
Fleas - dry on high, they don't drown easily, but they cook just fine. And you might see outbreaks once a month for a while as that is about when any eggs would hatch. Please pardon my flea PTSD
Super cute and fun - and you wear it so well! 🎃 The whole court of England back in the day would surely be needing their own pumpkin-inspired ensembles immediately, after seeing your smashing new trend, with exactly the proper amounts of poof, and panes, and bedazzlement. 🧐
Somehow I feel like the muddy shoes compliment the look. You are like a pumpkin that has risen from the ground and taken human form, and lying on the ground before the underside of the pumpkin (which equliates to the lowest part of the human = feet) is still muddy.
I love this with your green hair! And the mud just makes your shoes look brown in the pictures, which is a nice coordinating autumn color. I think the pumpkin hat is my favorite part though!
All of the fiddly details just amped of the amazingness of this project. I think that love chemise needs some visibility too and perhaps use it with a cute history bounding project. I love your videos, but girl, you gotta breath a little bit. I know most of it is due to editing, but a little slower with a little more relaxed breathing will also help relax your personal anxiety. It is amazing to see someone so young with so many brilliant ideas for projects and such great execution. The hat and whole ensemble is just the most fun project I have seen you make.
FAR OUT! THIS IS INCREDIBLE! I love how much detail you go into for all your projects, you've helped me to be more particular & my sewing is improving thanks to you. Such amazing detail, you have so much patience & the results speak for themselves. You're a marvel, I love watching your videos & listening to you, you speak so quickly! & I love the funny little things you say. I'm always looking forward to your videos. Cheers Obelia from Australia.
This is PRECIOUS! 🧡 Personally, I think this is your best Halloween costume yet! I can’t stop smiling after seeing the pictures, (and the mud on your shoes was actually a really good touch)!😁
@@caithemburrow5569 not that I know of. I’m not familiar with what you described but I think we might call it a kissing ball. A pomander is a fruit (usually) with ribbon around it that people carried to perfume themselves. I don’t know the exact origin but I think it was during plague times bc they thought the smell would ward off the sickness? Don’t quote me on that though
I love watching you execute your vision, especially the little realistic bumps in the road. I am a magpie and especially appreciate the embellishment sections. Thanks for the great tip about buying yardage of embellished lace instead of trim!
i saved this video for when i could sit over it and savor it, and i'm glad i did. i'm obsessed with your entire outfit, angela--on a scale of 1 to 10, this one is a 1006!!!!! i'd love to see the chemise more. the whole ensemble is absolutely glorious! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
How many people can look as lovely and sweet as you do in this year’s pumpkin patch outfit? The answer is VERY FEW! Both you and your outfit rock. Hope Posy and Minnie are doing fine.
I just made my first youtube video because you inspired me with your DIYs. I make clothes too, so it's a sewing tutorial. It would mean the world if you watched it and gave me your opinion, or any advice :)
I'm so glad you did this! I know very little about the cozy mystery genre. I really liked Mexican Gothic but it would probably be too scary for you. :(
This outfit is FANTASTIC!!!! It's a marvelous pumpkin-looking outfit for a pumpkin field. I've spent hundreds of hours playing Stardew Valley the last few years. Recently, my nephew showed me a trailer for The Haunted Chocolatier, a new game still being worked on by the creator of Stardew Valley.
Oh Angela...! I'm so sorry that you found rigiline, have you discovered that after a while it will crimp on one spot or two on your body and then it REALLY pinches bad? Maybe try zip ties for boning or even synthetic whalebone? By the by, AWESOME work.
anyone who says that women aren't suited to math or STEM subjects clearly has never watched a sewing video. Keep doing all THE THINGS girl!! I was lost when you started working out the math to make the strips for the pants? britches? hose? Seriously loving it though!
A triumph! From a long-time viewer, this is maybe my favourite of your Halloween costumes...& I love floofy skirts & trains. 🖤 Honestly the math & logic required to do this thing blew my mind. And I do hope your shoes are salvageable.
This costume is whimsy in abundance, and I adore it! Watching you patiently make all that piping trim strapping, I could only think how I would have gone bonkers after about two yards, your commitment and patience is lovely. The only thing I would have loved to see are some final shots of you wearing the costume filmed, rather than stills. I bet you had a fun (but probably frustrating) time maneuvering through all that mud, and the pants must've been quite a relief in terms of maneuverability!
this is so incredible!!! I'm always blown away by the amount of work and creativity you put into custom making all these sewing projects. it's genuinely been pretty inspiring to me and my own sewing, so thank you :D
Puffy pumpkin pants! Love the bodice and hat, too! Stardew is very much a 'one more day' kind of game, did you know Concerned Ape is working on a new game? Haunted Chocolatier is the title and its in the same style as Stardew!
They are absolutely unequivocally ridiculous and i love them. You have found the absolute best way to look like about 5 pumpkins, how on earth are you going to top this next year?!
This is sooooooooooo amazing! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 Also i was going to comment that the snoring doggo was a cute background audio in the vid, but turns out it was my cat. 🤷♀️
Hello, could you make a in depth ballgown tutorial. Including bodice and skirt and how to line fabric or press it if needed. I dont mind if its 200 hours long i just need help i cant find many videos to help especially with the skirt and how to make it big. I hope that made sense.

Agreed! Lol

WOW This is just incredible , the difficulty level is insane. I think this is your best one yet. Congtatulations

"Fussy cut" is something I haven't heard before, but it perfectly describes the process.
I love how this came out. Kudos!

This is perhaps the most beautiful and fantastical costume you've made yet.

LOVE LOVE LOVE! I loved the other miss-matched Renaissance fun pants too. I’m here for the beautiful silly endeavors and welcome much more.
It’s funny how in sewing, measurements and calculations are basically pointless 😂😂 it never works out
"I just did a bit of maths" :D these pants are insane. How you do the construction (and everything else) is very impressive
Ahhhh now my spoopy season is complete! I love all your Halloween outfits they make my year!
I love this Renaissance menswear direction 😍 I hope that other youtubers will follow you down the rabbit hole, and that someday I build up the confidence to try something myself. You look magnificent!
And pumpkin-y!
This is frigging adorable I love it! And you look amazing in it ❤
Love the pumpkin Beefeater costume bc it looks like on of Queen Elizabeth I's Tower guards woke up one morning and said to himself. 'Today I want to wear pumpkins.
I agree that beading did not look good.. it looks 100% better after you took the beads off... and that out fit looks amazing.
I would love a video of people in public reacting to your fantastical costumes! This one is a show stopper for sure!
I love that your green hair looks like a stem 🎃
This is the best costume I've seen so far this year! I can't imagine how long (hours) it took to make this and you make it look effortless! The hat deserves the chef's kiss. I love your humour, and in the pictures you look bomb! Happy to have your voice as a background for knitting
This is amazing! The detail is absolutely insane! 🧡🖤
orange and black do go together.
Sixteenth century pants (I think that's what you said) are fabulous! Thanks so much for sharing your Pumpkin Costume with us. So fun!
This is so adorable! I think it suits you well, it has to be one of my favorite things you have made.

Wonderful! It looks marvellous on you. I have new ideas about the complexity of the costumes in "Sleeping Beauty"!
This is my favourite Halloween costume of yours hands down, and oh my god that hat is incredibly cute !

Ah, yes, Stardew Valley is a cruel mistress. But your pumpkin pants are am absolute treasure!
i LOVE these kinds of medieval pants, so it was so fun to see you make a pair that looked like actual pumpkins!! so so fun 💖
Oh this is so fun!! There aren't enough poofy pumpkin pants in the world. 🎃
Your muddy shoes kinda fit in with the costume. It made the look more period accurate.

Oh my god, the pumpkin pants! The most adorable thing I ever saw, I'm in love!!!!! Your best Halloween project ever, in my opinion🧡🥰🖤
I have not watched yet, but goodness! That is such a fun outfit! 🧡🖤🧡
oh my god this is so cute and stunning, I love the hat the most of all!! it's amazing how beautiful all of what you make is
I love that you did a sort of early 1900's make-up, and the spontaneous mud is somehow just right as well!
Mad respect for the insane of work involved in this outfit. I think I'd have crumpled in a corner halfway through, and I love sewing!
I definitely wouldn't have made it through step 1, bead removal
This is PRECIOUS! 🧡 Personally, I think this is your best Halloween costume yet! I can’t stop smiling after seeing the pictures, (and the mud on your shoes was actually a really good touch)!😁
Good idea for the costume! It really fits the pumpkin patch!
The original beads remind me of a pomamder when you push the cloves into the oranges
Is a pomander like a christingle? Do they have candles in them
Or coriander seeds.

I'm so in love with this outfit! Would steal it immediately
I saw the thumbnail and was already in love. This is so overwhelmingly adorable!!

Beautiful! I used your blog to make an 18th century shift last night for my halloween costume, thank you!
This is one of the best things you've made. I love this. You look adorable.
So wonderful pattern for Halloween.Looks so cute.
The video is clear.Learn new sewing skill from it
Like it and thanks for sharing
This was such a fun video to watch!! I love how it turned out, and glad you liked this project especially with how much work went into it!

I really enjoyed the whole process, bug the reveal is the diamond in the pumpkin patch¡ Thanks SO much for shating.

Miss Clayton you were a pumpkin. Muddy shoes were just evidence of you climbing out of the ground
Love it! So much work, I admire your precision ❤❤ I always enjoy watching your vlogs on the side as I work on my own projects.

Love Stardew Valley so much!!!!!! If you know you know ❤️🥰
Harem pants, nah just kidding but done as denim , love the color of orange with that black. It's Awesome!
Wow!! That was a lot of work! The process was complicated at times, but you prevailed. It turned out super fun and cute. Great job!
They are absolutely unequivocally ridiculous and i love them. You have found the absolute best way to look like about 5 pumpkins, how on earth are you going to top this next year?!
Your pumpkin breeches are an amazing feat of sowing. You really have outdone yourself and the whole costume is sooooo pretty. 😍🎃
The thumbnail is so amazing so I am all in for this silly renaissance pumpkin pants ride 🎃
This is sooooooooooo amazing! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Also i was going to comment that the snoring doggo was a cute background audio in the vid, but turns out it was my cat. 🤷♀️

Looks great! In hindsight, pants were the only choice... a gown in all that mud? Oof!!
I love the detailing at the back! This looks so whimsical and fun for the holiday.
Damn, you really grow a pumpkin patch each year to match your projects. You really are going above and beyond for your channel 👍
This costume is so good!!!!! I love pumpkins, that hat is everything.
