Thank you for visiting Oscar's Steakhouse! We are happy to hear you enjoyed your evening at Oscar's and service with Miguel. Looking forward to welcoming you back for a future visit!
Thank you for having us and for providing the credit! We really appreciated it. It was a delicious meal, and we can’t wait to return. Thank you! -James
It surprised us that they were willing to do this and we are ever so grateful. We didn’t even ask, they offered. I will say that credit or not, we had planned to dine at Oscar’s as part of our stay at The Plaza and their decision to do this did not sway our opinion. We have dined at multiple steakhouses in Vegas and this is easily a top 3 steakhouse for us. That being said. You both totally should do Oscars Steakhouse if you visit Downtown Las Vegas. Opinions are always subjective but we feel that for the price, the value of what we received, and the quality… we feel safe in our impressions and scores (even if a majority of it was a 5 out of 5). Hope you had fun on your cruise and stay tuned for a Beer video coming from us on Saturday. -Paul

We have our expensive meal picked out for our next trip to Vegas but the trip after that, we'll have to go to Oscars. Look like the food is right up my alley. I do love me a good Meatball.

Good Morning Guys, Congratulations on the $100.00 dining credit! Also, long story short: Thank you, thank you, thank you for the disclosure. Also, an Egyptian or Parisian or Roman theme is nice. But, I LOVE the vintage neon lights of downtown Las Vegas ✨️ I just had to throw that out to the Universe. Thanks for the awesome video!
You’re very welcome. We always want to be upfront if and when we receive anything to help fund a video. Not only is it good practice, but also it’s one of those things legally required to do. I feel like we may overdo it, but as newer creators it’s better to be safe than not (and it’s good karma to put out to the universe in case others want to work with us in the future). I will say this about the vintage neon lights. They are beautiful and what I love about The Plaza is their location at the end of the experience which is generally a bit quieter. And of course the dining at Oscar’s blew me away. Thanks for watching and for the comment ❤️ -Paul
I'll be in Vegas in December for the first time since '18, pre-pandemic. Thanks for this great review! I love a good steakhouse but prices on the Strip do make it out of my reach. This does look like it would be worth the trip Downtown. My only quibble - a couple of guys behind you in t-shirts and baseball caps on their heads. I'd like to go to a nice restaurant that enforces a dress code. I know they need to get people in the door that will pay the $$$ so they apparently don't hassle the dressed down customers. I wish people knew better but it seems a lot of our countrymen weren't brought up with the best of societal expectations, or what used to be anyway. You two did don sport coats - you have some class!
We tend to agree on the dress code aspect, and often find ourselves some of the more formally dressed individuals when dining out or taking in a live stage performance. We love to dress up for dinner will usually bring several jackets and suits with us on a Vegas trip. We also understand why many people don’t dress up as much as they used to, as owning suits and jackets can be cost prohibitive, but I would love to see an emphasis placed on this dying tradition again. -James
We've been to the Oscar's Steakhouse 3 times, and every time we tried different dishes. Somehow, every single dish we had was too salty. So, we just decided this restaurant is not for us, unfortunately. But the location, the vibe, and the service were great, no doubt.
I know tastes and salt levels can always be subjective. James is definitely a lot better at figuring out if something is saltier or a bit over salted than I am because as a home cook I tend to go heavy handed on the salt. That being said, I can totally understand trying a place 3 times and not finding it for you. We have one particular Vegas buffet that we have tried on 2 separate occasions and would love to praise but we find that they play it a bit too safe for our personal tastes. And I know that many others will disagree with us on that. Thanks for watching and for the comment, sharing your experience, and the feedback ❤️ -Paul
@JamesandPaulTryitAll yes, you're right, tastes are different. And we loved the place itself, that's why we tried to find something perfect for us in their menu. We found something, though. It was Oregon wine:) You mentioned you'll be staying at Aria soon, try their CATCH restaurant. They have the best filet mignon (cooked using sous vide) and one of the best grilled octopus 😋 Thank you for your videos. They help me to relax after some stressful days.
You had me at grilled Octopus 🐙 James is literally booking a reservation at Catch as we speak. We were going to do Lemongrass for Thai but your comment (and other things we have heard) sold us on Catch. -Paul
@JamesandPaulTryitAll Lemongrass is very good, too!) To my husband and I, it's the best Thai restaurant in Vegas. Try both, they're very different. We go to Lemongrass almost every time we're in Vegas.
We honestly debated it when going over the menu but there is also only so much we could eat so we did opt not to order them and instead went with the meatballs. But I can only imagine how amazing they are if everything else was stellar. And for steakhouses the pricing was much more in line with what I would pay at home in Phoenix. -Paul
When it’s stellar it’s stellar. We rated the bread a 2.5 (it was dry) and the chocolate chip dessert a 4 out of 5 (James’ home baked cookies are much better and while decent the dessert definitely was missing the smoked sea salt and browned butter that I am used to) Would you rather we slam the meatballs?or the cuts of meat? because those blew both of us away. -Paul
We’re not perfect, but we try to be honest and give our genuine opinions based on what we experienced. That being an enjoyable steakhouse meal that we we’re highly impressed with. Granted, both the bread and the dessert did score less than a 5. That being said, I was worried when watching the footage in the editing phase that it would seem too positive, but on reflection, I’d say I’d still stand by it based on our experience and would recommend it for those seeking a nice dinner downtown. We do however appreciate the feedback, and will consider examining our grading scale closer in the future. -James
I just came across your channel. I've always heard so much about Oscars. My only comment and I mean no harm. Do you find that you both talk too loud in the restaurant? I feel if I was at a table next to your review it would overpower my meal. I don't think I'd be able to enjoy my meal as much. Maybe if you just took it down a notch. Just my opinion
I was worried after watching the footage that I was perhaps too loud in the restaurant, but Paul reminded me that the restaurant itself was fairly bustling at the time of shooting (which isn’t heard as much due to the noise cancellation on our mics) and in fact we were speaking at a level in which we could hear each other. Then again, I speak fairly loudly most of the time. I tend to project naturally and unconsciously. -James
@@JamesandPaulTryitAll Thank you for not getting upset over my comment. I took talk loud and I'm always told to lower my voice. Although I don't think I'm loud. Lol
@@TheJleliot I never think I’m talking loud, but I’ve definitely learned that I talk louder than a lot of people. My mother and grandmother did too. They always blamed it on being Italian, but I’m fairly certain we’re just hard of hearing. -James

But I can only imagine how amazing they are if everything else was stellar. And for steakhouses the pricing was much more in line with what I would pay at home in Phoenix.

Those nose rings oh my god, this isn’t bear night at the bathhouse
That was afterwards.

Nice review guys. But you can’t seriously rate everything 5 of 5. Either you have a low bar or your taste buds are indiscriminate.
When it’s stellar it’s stellar.
We rated the bread a 2.5 (it was dry) and the chocolate chip dessert a 4 out of 5 (James’ home baked cookies are much better and while decent the dessert definitely was missing the smoked sea salt and browned butter that I am used to)
Would you rather we slam the meatballs?or the cuts of meat? because those blew both of us away.

Those nose rings look ridiculous! 🐮🐮🐮
@@Teddy31976 mooooooo!
It's very difficult to know if you're just hamming this place up because you essentially got a $300 meal for free.
@@LA32319 We actually paid for more than half the meal ourselves. The credit that was provided was only for $100 as stated in the video.
Whether you choose to take our video at face value is up to you, but know that we stand by our review and would recommend Oscar’s to anyone seeking a steakhouse experience in Downtown Las Vegas. Having been in the restaurant industry for near 20 years, I will never promote a business I don’t believe in.
-James
I bet you guys do try it all. I'm sorry, but I can't take either of you seriously with those gross, gaudy bull rings in your faces.
Hey… we get it. There’s no rule in life that says everyone has to like you. We’ve debated taking out our nose rings for videos, but have instead decided for the time being to remain authentic to who we are in real life.
We appreciate you giving us a shot though! I hope you have a better rest of your day.
