So for the first time in J&P history, your favourite Canadian and your favourite Scot watched it together and we both loved the video albeit for different reasons (she is a vegetarian, I'm not). Another banger boys, hope you had a great Christmas.
Yah!! I think I got the shout out for cutting in the middle. WOW. This is why I love you guys. I mentioned this a long time ago and you remembered. Your care for your viewers and love for us is unmatched. This made me smile. And if it wasn’t me I’m still thrilled.
I sadly did not recall that it was you who mentioned it but I sure did remember that comment and the advice was in the back of my mind when filming this. While we have dined at steakhouses many times, it was definitely something that I had learned in the process of making these videos. So thank you for mentioning that a while back as I learned something new. Also, comments and feedback are important and we do read them and respond so whenever we get feedback that’s constructive (such as the steak), it’s always taken to heart. -Paul
Thanks for the shoutout! Debbie nearly cried when she saw it. :) Ironically, I saw this update while we were in the Horseshoe while walking past Binions. Might be a sign to go there next time we're in Vegas.
Thank you guys for the incredibly generous donation! We absolutely appreciate it so much! Know that it is going right into the fund for our upcoming trip. Words don’t do justice just how much we appreciate the support. Also, YES! Jack Binion’s is definitely a sleeper hit! I definitely recommend the prime rib. -James
James looks absolutely defeated when the cheesecake came! Lol. What a surprise of a steakhouse. Ill agree it doesn't get the love it should. Pretty amazing.
I’m not gonna lie… I really was. I was already stuffed to the gills by that point. But it was a great cheesecake. So glad that you enjoyed the video! Thanks for taking the time to comment. We appreciate it as always. -James
What a fantastic video about somewhere no one features! We were so excited to see all the offerings at Jack Binion's. It was somewhere we'd never considered, but it is a nice departure from all the standard steakhouse fare. Once again, the editing is spectacular. Such a great, fun video! Thanks again, my favorite boys!! 😊😊😊
Thank you Amber! Your kind words mean a lot to us. We can easily both recommend Jack Binion’s, and we really hope this video keeps getting views because I would love for them to see an increase in business. It was surprisingly fairly empty when we dined there, and I have to say that made me so sad to see considering that the food was so exceptional. The prime rib was some of the best I’ve ever had in Vegas, and I dream of those chips. Thank you for your continued support! Happy new year to you and your fiancé! -James
I will be staying at Horseshoe at the end of January, so it’s nice to see if I should check this place out while there, or travel to a different property to eat at. I’ll be there 2 days. Thanks for the video! Great job like always guys!
We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed this video! While I will be the first to say that there are steakhouses that are cheaper out there, I think Jack Binion’s Steak is absolutely worth the cost (at least based off our experience). We’ll be at Aria and Paris for the entire last week in January. Come say hi if you see us! -James
Once again we are trying one of your recommendations. You haven’t steered us wrong so far! We are staying at Paris and just made a reservation for Jack Binion’s for tonight. Thank you!
We will! I’ll be posting about it on my Facebook page, so I’ll give you guys a shoutout for sure. You two are foodies with a bougie side, so we know to trust your reviews as we embrace our own bougieness! 😂
@@JamesandPaulTryitAll it was fantastic! The food, the service, all of it. Thank you so much for your video, it was so helpful. It also helped that Caesar’s gifted us with a very nice resort credit that helped cover this!
Hello you two!! Sending much love from Scotland! My Boyfriend and I found your channel quite by chance and we just love you both. I will definitely try here next time I go to Vegas. You are a couple of wee treasures!! We wish you and all your viewers the very very best for 2025!🎉🎉🎉❤
Thank you so much for the kind words! It means a lot to us. We’re so glad that you’re enjoying our channel! Happy new year to you and your boyfriend as well! -James
I really appreciate the fact that Jack Binion’s is not just another carbon copy of a steakhouse. Don’t get me wrong… I love all the classics, but a little variation is nice. -James
Your show is so professionally produced! I feel like I'm watching a television show. The camera angles and framing is amazing also you two are just the best speakers and describers of food I have watched on UA-cam in a long time to the point where I started to look to see if this was a show someone had posted off of the Food Network or something. ❤
Thank you so much for the compliments ❤️ It’s a two person production, but the editing is mostly me. We do love Travel Channel, Food Network, and really miss Anthony Bourdain (he was gone too soon), and so there is some inspiration from that, but most of it is just having a love for food and just watching a lot of UA-cam ourselves and watching the larger channels in our space like Norma and Ruby and trying to bring our best like they do. They both really inspire us. We are not perfect at this by any means, but each Vegas trip is an opportunity to hone the craft and try to improve. So thank you for the lovely comment and this really made my night seeing it. -Paul
During my 8 year bartending career I made thousands of martinis. Never put vermouth in unless requested. I got one request all those years. He was one of the last Pullman Porters and an amazing person.
I enjoyed the vermouth in this one, but usually my perfect martini is a 3 oz of good gin, splash of olive juice, and stir while holding the glass in the direction of Italy and staring at a picture of Antonio Carpano (that’s enough Vermouth for me). -James
Oh I am leaving in the morning for Vegas. We are staying at the Apache for new years right there at Binion’s. Can’t wait for our 5 day vacation!! Duran Duran concert and new years on Fremont street
We hope you have a blast! Fremont on New Year’s is supposed to be quite the experience. We really want to stay at the Apache in their “most haunted room”. Do let us know what you thought of your stay when you get back home!. Safe travels to you and thanks for watching! -James
@ my husband is taking me for my Birthday which was the 23rd of December, and for the Duran Duran concert because they are my favorite bad and they perform on the 29 th and 30 th. I don’t know which room we are in yet. I am a lover of haunted things so I think I’m being surprised with the room!! I will let you know as soon as I find out!! Love you channel so much and I am definitely going to be trying out a lot of the places you two have shown on your channel!! I’m a Bloody Mary lover so I am out to get the best one I can find from your reviews! Thanks
Definitely Favorite Bistro on the Bloody Mary, it’s pricy, but so worth it. We’re so glad we could help you with your Vegas planning. I hope you have the best time. -James
Thank you Jen! We’re glad that you enjoyed the video! Jack Binion’s really doesn’t get the love that we think it deserves, and it’s kind of tucked off to the side of the casino in Horseshoe and very easy to miss. I feel like that doesn’t help at all. -James
Thank you Tracy! Those chips were so good, I would absolutely go back just for an order of them and a cocktail. Happy new year to you and your loved ones! -James
Merry Christmas and a happy healthy new year guys. Thank you For entertaining us. I can’t tell you how much I enjoy you both. Looking forward to 2025 be well
Merry Christmas (belated), and a Happy Upcoming New Year to you as well. We have plenty more coming in 2025 and more planned to film next month when we visit Aria, Paris, and The D. Plus even more in May when we have a stay at Nobu, Cosmopolitan, and Golden Nugget. -Paul
Great video once again. My family and I will be in Vegas next week and we're staying at Paris. Since the steakhouse is a short walk, we'll definitely enjoy an upscale dinner.
Thank you Luis! We’re glad that you enjoyed it! If you’d end up going, I hope you have a fabulous meal! Get the chips and dip! I want to go back just for those and a martini! -James
@JamesandPaulTryitAll oh absolutely those chips are going to be ordered. I've never seen anything like that and since I devour ketchup chips out of a bag, I can just imagine the taste freshly fried
Great review. We’ve stayed at the Horseshoe and also had no idea it was there (despite the giant sign). We’ll check it out next time. I’m so glad it’s not another ‘Wagyu A5 whatever’ joint.
I think what impressed us was the fact that it is your standard Classic steakhouse but with a twist. And whoever created their menu really took some liberties to make it a twist on the classics. For that reason when we dined there we made a habit to try some of the more unique items for the sake of the video and for the sake of trying something that was not just your expected steakhouse classics. Because when we dined at a steakhouse or two in every trip, sometimes there’s overlap and dishes can blur because each place tries to be samey samey with the classics. One critique we had though is the price. It is priced a tad higher than some other options in Vegas, but we also didn’t feel ripped off. That wedge salad was HUGE, the chips were plentiful, and the food did live up to the value for what we paid. And we can respect a place that does add some spice (like pepper jack mac and cheese or hatch Chiles in the cheese sauces) because while it was there, it wasn’t too hot (so it’s still safe for palates that are more spice averse), but it’s there enough to let you know that you aren’t just getting a basic mac and cheese or cheese sauce. It’s definitely worth checking out if it’s within your budget. -Paul
Your server definitely knew you guys... You're both the queen of ❤😊.. we've been for those amazing chips & cocktails & I like Vermouth in my Bombay Sapphire martini... That bloodmary wedge looked amazing & so did the lobster bisque the added lobster pop won me over😋 I'm trying rib cap now at every steakhouse & seeing they offer bearnaise sauce as an option 👍🏻 Happy & Healthy 2025.🎉
Happy and healthy 2025 to you as well. Those chips were amazing (glad to see that you also know as well 😀), and I was all over that Lobster bisque, but I will say that for me, I was OK letting James have the wedge salad all to himself. My steak was divine though. -Paul
The lobster bisque looks DIVINE! Hatch chiles are good on anything 😅. I'm a ribeye guy but that Prime Rib also looked juicy delicious. Good looking place 🔥🔥. Salud 🍻 PS: Hopefully whoever is sick is finally feeling better. 🤙🤙
Glad to hear that you enjoyed the video. Everything was amazing, but that prime rib was definitely one of the best I’ve had in Vegas. And yes, finally feeling better. My voice is almost back 100%. Thank you! -James
HAPPY SATURDAY GENTLEMEN!! I've looked at the menu @ Binions, but it's just too pricey for me. I do the lunch special @ Peter Lugers & pay an extra $30 when I'm craving steak or their lobster tail. It's always nice to see how much you enjoy your food review! (Nobody wants the food to suck) 🙂
So a bit of a question since you have mentioned Peter Luger in other comments - How is their lunch special? Reason we ask is that we have a stay at Nobu on the books for May, but it’s only 2 days so Dining is still in the planning stages as far as what we want to feature for that video but we are limited by time so fitting in a place as a lunch allows for flexibility compared to a dinner slot. That being said, I will agree the prices at Jack Binion’s Steak are on the higher side and that was one critique I mentioned at the end of the video, but… I am curious as to your thoughts on Peter Luger. -Paul
I believe they are closed Mon-Tues. The special is every day except Sat 11-4. $46 gets you a salad or slab bacon, entre(burger, chicken breast, salmon, crab cake sandwich or lobster roll. $30 upcharge for steak or lobster tail) a side of steak fries or creamed spinach & a hot fudge sundae for dessert. I go mid day & I'm full for the rest of the day. I've had everything but the chicken & some more than once! I even broke down & ordered a $25 black cherry margarita.I swore I would NEVER pay that, but bartenders Jessica & Chris are FENOMINAL!!! Gave us a taste of the tequila they use.Never heard of it,but it was smooth! I've been there so often that when I walk in Jessica already has my glass of iced tea coming!!! I hope you can give it a try in May.(And I hope to run into you some day as well) ❤❤
This has me intrigued and thank you for the insight. And that’s not a bad price either. Depending on the schedule this might be a great thing to showcase depending on our dates and if we can make it work. -Paul
Sadly $25 can be the norm for cocktails at a steakhouse on the strip, but it’s also in line with what the casino bar at Caesars Palace charges, as well as other speakeasies on the strip. Including the speakeasy that we went to after this meal which had $25 cocktails and a 2 drink minimum per person. But yes, it can be a tad high. Which is why we often stick to a “one and done” when making these videos and it’s usually for the purpose of having a cocktail option to showcase when we make this type of content. -Paul
