I was trained for emergency driving by the instructors who teach Cheshire Police Traffic Officers, whilst training we were taught how to drive at well over 100mph on country roads and 130 to 140 mph on motorways. The fastest I have ever driven is 165mph on an emergency. Cheshire Police use unmarked police vehicles for traffic work, Audi, BMW and Volvo. In Europe there are roads with no speed limits. The second clip, we didn't see the punishment for as he was summons to court. If the car was his, he's lost it for no insurance, he gets fined and at least 6 points on his licence. Red light, at least £100 fine and at least 3 points. Speeding over 100mph is dangerous driving, he'll lose his licence for at least 12 months and will probably have to take an extended retest (similar to the test a driving instructor takes but not as strict) plus a nice big fine and costs and the bonus prize because he fled is most likely prison 6 months probably suspended for 2 years. Points are the way our government controls our licences. Most fixed penalties carry 3 points and £100 fine, using a handheld device gets 6 points and £500, no insurance 6 points and £250 along with the car getting seized and destroyed. Points stay on your licence for 3 years, if you hit 12 points you go to court and your licence will be suspended for 6 months unless you can show severe hardship. The guy who went to court was banned, when he gets his licence back it will have whatever points he was given for the other offences and they'll be there for 3 years. He may well have 10, 11, 12 or more points. If he is stopped for any endoresable offence then he goes back to court for loss of his licence, the length of the ban doubles each time.
Wrong on the points there chuck. They now stay on your license for FOUR years - remaining declareable to insurers for FIVE! Meaning the insurers are being allowed to punish drivers BEYOND what the courts and DVLA set as the appropriate punishment
You're right. My son caused a car accident, both cars were right off. I was the only one injured. When the police arrived, he told them it was 100 per cent his fault. He had a breathalyser, which showed no alcohol. No points, no fine, he was allowed to leave the scene, and the police dealt with everything, leaving him free to be with me in the ambulance. The medic even commented well that was easy for everyone. Except me, I have osteoporosis and broke 5 bones. 😢
Only because the dirty system will punish one for attempting to defend oneself in a court of so-called law , with twice the points ! Where's the justice ?
I hate to say it but, from my experience, most US Cops ARE amateurs! They get nowhere NEAR the amount of training that UK Cops do and given the huge amount of tiny Police Forces there, sometimes even at just town level, that is not surprising. Plus UK Cops are part of Police Services not Police Forces. There is a BIG difference. 🙂
@@andypandy9013 true, most have a bachelor's or a masters in criminology or something relevant. They know how to de-escalate without using violence in most cases. I have been on the wrong side of them before but I've always been treated with respect by UK police.

Those police drivers must have ICE-WATER in their veins! I'd love to see some of the training they have to go through to reach that level of confidence. VERY impressive!
The level of awareness they need is insane and they are trained to a very high level. At those speeds, things go wrong very quickly. I saw one where the cop car suffered a rear tyre blowout doing 110mph during a pursuit on the motorway. They did a full 720⁰ spin but didn't hit anything.
"I'd love to see some of the training they have to go through to reach that level of confidence" As far as I can gather, American police are given the keys, and ....
I remember 20 years ago there were 100s of British police officers going to America for a short time to train American police. I think it still happens
I agree for some elements of the chases that they engage in. For stopping a vehicle, if someone is willing to run from cops, there is a good chance that they are armed and ready to use. This means that boxing methods leave the police far too close to the suspect. As a result, the pit manoeuvre is a safe option, but the US cops rarely do it in a way that seems safe or in an appropriate location. This isn't helped by the fact that a lot of USA roads are elevated, with more aggressive ditches on either side of the road.
Here in the UK lots of cops are in unmarked cars that range from high end Bmws to minivans so u cant even see them comming. Marked cars are easy to spot though
the consequences of getting caught doing over 100mph is losing your licence, a fine, court cost, suspended jail sentence. Your car may get crushed and you have to retake your test to regain your licence once the suspension period is served. That test is more rigorous than a standard driving test.
He said guy was spotted driving by ANPR which means Automatic number plate recognition.. these cameras are in Police cars and dotted around tbe country
I'm sure that most of the Motorway Gantrys also have ANPR cameras put on them - as well as the usual Motorway Control cameras for lane closing on accidents, etc, nowadays, too . . .?
In the UK about 15 years ago, i could drive at speed on most motoways or highways. Ive reached 140. But today, i would never try that as all main roads have average speed cameras.
My personal feeling is that if you can't tell there's a cop following you, you're not paying enough attention to drive fast. If you want to drive fast - fine, but everyone's safety is on you. So if there's a car in front of you, slow down. Next to you? Slow down. If the road is empty? Do whatever you like, but as soon as you see another vehicle or a potential spot for a pedestrian, slow the fuck down.
I was stood on the corner of a street with my buddy having a smoke before when a car with four guys in nearly ran us over. Few seconds later a police car comes along and we point it down the right road. He floored it down the hill and as the first car went to take a left turn, they straight up t boned it at like 50mph and nearly put it through the front wall of someone’s house. They definitely don’t mess around 😂 craziest thing was they drove off like they were never hit and the chase continued. No idea how it ended
My nephew is a Police Interceptor. He recently had a car chase at 164miles per hour. He arrested them. Never bother lying to a British cop cos they've heard it all before & can see right through it. You're just wasting everybody's time
This is from a documentary series televised on Channel 5 , a british TV channel. It's a great series. He got a suspended prison sentence. If he commits another driving offence he'll likely go to prison
Caught speeding in the UK over 95mph the officer can’t deal with it via a ticket they have to be reported to summons to court for a magistrate to judge.
As someone who has some dealings with the UK police, these cars will be unmarked to blend in with normal traffic, plus we have tons of ANPR cameras (pick up your number plate) so if you have no license, insurance or have some intelligence against you (your selling drugs) the camera will notify the nearest police car. If you want an easy life, abide by the law IMO.
6:12 you don't understand how we don't notice police cars, look at the difference between unmarked vehicles in the US compared to the UK in this case and notice that having a market with a wide choice of vehicles, you have a greater chance of not being noticed, not to mention the cheap look, iron wheels, pushbars, spotlights that unmarked US vehicles carry
A lot of the UK transport police drive unmarked vehicles, mainly BMW's with big engines - being German they're limited to 155mph but they're faster than most cars on the road. That's a VW golf r with some mods by the looks of things.
@randomwaffler I'm actually a yob and drive a civic type r 😂. Had an accident recently and it's pretty much a right off so planning a van engine conversion. I'm a tall guy so probably a mercedes sprinter lwb.
Neal. You asked how they don't see the cop cars. Many cop cars on the motorway in the UK are not in police colors. The are regular colors with hidden lights. In the last clip you can see the car is a black BMW. Regular cop cars in the UK are white with yellow and blue markings.
What you have to realise is we have...... 1 one trained police force... not a toy sheriff and deputies .... who are full of A EGOTISTICAL SELF IMPORTANCE
We have 43 territorial police forces in England and Wales. In addition Scotland and Northern Ireland have their own forces. London is covered by two the Metropolitan and City of London forces. There is also the British Transport Police and other like the Ministry of Defence Police and the Civil Nuclear Constabulary. All have different jurisdictions and police authorities that govern them.
Most of our highway police use BMW 330d cars. Likely 265bhp twin turbo diesel, 155mph (limited?). Back in the day they used Sierra Sapphire Cosworths and Volvo 850 and V70 T-5s, both 150+mph cars too. I used to work for Volvo, we looked after the phase one V70 T-5 cars, regardless of what they told us these were remapped! They had upgraded air foam filters, polyurethane engine mounts and bigger brakes (listed as 'police spec' in the Volvo parts catalogue) and ran around 16psi of boost (around 270-280bhp, up from the stick 240bhp). So in reality they were chasing folks down in 160+mph cars back then 😂 They were bare bones too, no optional extras to keep the price down for the plod.
I always think our police in the UK are better trained. Everything jhas a procedure. For car pursuits there's very set terminology and information they must continually convey to the police HQ. Our policing is also based on how to de-escalate situations. US police always seem so gung-ho and a law unto themselves.... probably due to the gun culture creating fear and tension....
Seen UK police practice this on the motorway. Fun just to back off & see them go to work & box the car off. My local cop's also use the road right next to a horse racing track to stop & search as practice.
The sentences the criminals receive are too light. Some of our cop drive an unmarked car, so unless you spot the driver wearing a police uniform you wouldn’t know that they were cops.
I'm from the UK here we have unmarked police cars so when speeding you don't know there police as they don't have any markings but then put the lights on and they you realise
Chances are if you stop you'll get a bollocking and a ticket and no more. I had a similar situation once where I was going significantly faster than 130 as I'd fallen asleep with my foot on the throttle. Very, very scary situation and it's one of the reasons I swear by speed limiters in cars.
At the end of the each program it should tell you what they get each one. Have to say you cracked me up when you said. What are we doing 😂 I love American cop chases. Must be cause we’re from each place
The main difference is although each area in England has a named Police Force by County it is a National organisation everyone in every area is trained the same. In the US each state varies on training.
And laws as well. A police office trained in Devon and Cornwall has the same powers as a police officer based in Cumbria. But in the states as soon as you pass state lines you have no powers because the laws are different.
Death and prison. A 19 year old boy who was taking nitrous oxide doing 130 in his BMW killed his 3 friends and made himself disabled for life, he's now in prison where he belongs. ..now if his parents bought him a Hyundai i10 which takes about 15 seconds to get to 62mph, instead of a big BMW 3 series which takes 5 seconds to 62mph, his friends may still be alive as he wouldn't have been able to reach 130mph in a residential area.
The consequences for the second were shown, but not the outcome. The reason people don’t see them, they are in unmarked bmw 3 series mostly, plain cars. The 150+ plus is a vw golf, think you call them a rabbit.
You sound surprised that 150mph is possible on UK roads, UK Motorways have a good road surface, a speed of 150mph is perfectly possible IF YOU are the only idiot on the road. You have no idea what other drivers are going to do. The only way to stay safe is to assume that everyone else on the road is an idiot, and drive defensively. Most drivers in the UK drive at 10mph over the limit on motorways, ( 80mph ), anything over that is dangerous.
What's really funny is when they slow down past average speed cameras then speed up again...like, bro ..that camera is seeing how long it takes you to get from one camera to the next, that's how they see how fast you're going. 😂
Police cars on the main roads like that normally are plain cars with lights on the dash so just looks like a normal car until they decide to turn them on . I live in England and can confirm this . See the front of the car is black on the 3rd video .
Those cars are unmarked on the outside... that's why people don't spot them. Th 150mph guy would have had licence suspended for probably 3 years, huge 4 figure fine (if first offender... or could be jail)...
one of my favourite shows is police interceptors, they are not always in a police car they do use unmarked cars and sometimes you don't get the outcome as it has not gone to court yet
That DD dangerous driving record on his licence will cost £thousands in much higher insurance premiums, and will have to be declared for 10 years on insurance quotes. He basically just priced himself off the road as 99% of insurance companies wont go near DD on a drivers licence.
Im really proud of our cops in the UK They dont need guns to deal with everyday crimes, they use diplomacy and approach people calmly They are fantastic at pursuits and our amazing bike cops are second to none People do drive a hell of a lot faster generally here in the UK lol
The average speed on a Portuguese motorway, which has a speed limit of 120 km/h (77 mph) is 140 km/h. Plenty do in excess of 160 km/h (100 mph). Never seen a speed cop
SEE our cops ARE good, and I honestly believe they rate among the best in the world, having had them on my side a few times I know this from experience, but I also know they are MORE than capable of being 'not quite so good' when it suits them, (again from personal experience) I was once stopped while on my motorbike when attending a funeral procession of bikes for a lost brother, All because this copper had a personal 'grudge' against me, he once got me in court on a speeding charge, and the judge threw it out and suggested the copper might not "waste the courts time in future" he was NOT happy about this, and had a personal vendetta against me for years. The show in question is basically police propaganda, always showing the 'good side' of policing and never shows the bad side. For example, would you for one minute say that the American show "cops" bad boys bad boys watcha gonna do" (sorry, it's automatic) is in any way an accurate representation of American police? just keep that in mind when watching these shows. I am *NOT* anti police, I think they do a fantastic job and I certainly owe them my life. Just trying to 'keep it real' is all.
Should see the police that confiscated £500 of fake notes someone gave a friend of mine for a phone he was selling and months later sent my friend a letter saying no laws were broken. The guy is still doing it.
The police and courts can have you off the road for a year or two but if you can’t get insurance you are off for good. Drink driving is worse than speeding.
Some of the traffic police cars in the UK are unmarked, so you don’t know they’re cops until you see the blue lights. It’s a traffic version of plain clothes police officers.
I don't know about the US but here in Britain it's generally best to just be honest with the cops when you've clearly been caught. Our coppers have a fair bit of power when it comes to minor offences so of you make their job easier they tend to be pretty reasonable but of you're a pain in the arse they will make your life hell. If the lad with the white BMW had just admitted he wasn't paying attention he'd have probably gotten away with an on the spot fine. But when he tried to blame his cruise control the officer decided to keep digging and found more offences to punish him for his stupidity now he's on the hook for driving without valid insurance so is his idiot mate and his car has been impounded.
yes uk police do make american cops look like the keystone cops, but ours don't have the constant threat of being shot at if they pull along side or in front of bandit vehicle
There are some nice roads in the East of Germany and beyond where you can open your throttle fully legal, but those red lights in front come up very fast.
In Victoria Australia, if you were caught doing those speeds, your car is impounded and a pretty good chance you won’t have a license for at least 12 months. To top it off, your car maybe crushed. Try explaining that to the parent who owns the car!
The sentences these people get in the UK are a joke and they know it! You can literally get away with anything in this country ATM. Our Justice system stinks!
That's because most of them are pretty amateurish by comparison. You don't get to drive high speed chase cars in the UK without a whole lot of specialised training. They really are professional about it in the UK because it is really dangerous!.
I don't know about that. The road systems are very different, UK Roads tend to be twisty and curved and need a lot of skill to drive at regular speeds. In speed situations the cop interceptors get a natural advantage from that. US roads tend to be straight and 90 degree turns, so there is less opportunity for the American police to do a take down safely. They are both doing the same job as safely as they can but the playing fields are way, way different.

Imagine how much insurance costs a year 😅 just to drive corsa
Wrong on the points there chuck.
They now stay on your license for FOUR years - remaining declareable to insurers for FIVE!
Meaning the insurers are being allowed to punish drivers BEYOND what the courts and DVLA set as the appropriate punishment
Never deny a driving offence. They have video evidence and if you admit it, the penalty will be much lower. Lying about it could put you in prison.
talking from experience? ;)
@@greg5639 If you are stupid enough to go into court having committed an offence and do so with legal representation then more fool you.
@RushfanUK I've never been to court. So I'll say, I can't be that stupid .darling !
Two-year training is required before becoming a police officer
@@helloworld0911
Where? In the UK or the USA?
look at old footage of American cops driving crown vics and come back to me!
@@hanniosman1839there are pure 'policing' degrees now, not just the law degrees etc and even then they still have training in house and mentoring - these last two are slower than they used to be due to the number of available mentors (serving, experienced officers) following the tory cuts.
If you do 130mph in Denmark where im from, you will be suspended for 3 years, get a fine of 1 month pay before taxes.. oh, and get your car confiscated..
I think you mean "If you get caught doing 130mph" 😉
It's only illegal if you get caught.......
Good
If you do it in my country you will be overtaken by a Porsche or Mercedes. I am happy to live in Germany.
Danish system sounds about right. If only it was more widely implemented, we may have less speeding in Europe.
2nd driver in a BMW, I’m shocked! Shocked, I tells yah. They’re always so careful.
Was that the one with the police Vauxhall Omega in the 90s?
@@MoominDoogie
Yikes! I certainly couldn't do the job: I start getting nervous at 70 mph!😀
"I'd love to see some of the training they have to go through to reach that level of confidence"
As far as I can gather, American police are given the keys, and ....
@@tumenibits569
"American police are given the keys..."
And firearms, of course!
I remember 20 years ago there were 100s of British police officers going to America for a short time to train American police.
I think it still happens
I often watch videos of American Police chases and am staggered by their ineptitude, and their willingness to risk the lives of others.
@@j-j-jingles4797 Makes sense. I hadn't considered the gun issue.
Their cars often seem super flimsy too
UK pursuit, at most 6 cars but usually 3.
US pursuit, every car in the precinct and the neighbouring precincts.
And maybe losing your job
He said guy was spotted driving by ANPR which means Automatic number plate recognition.. these cameras are in Police cars and dotted around tbe country
Dotted, more like plastered lol
Yeah, America has them, there called ALPR.
I'm sure that most of the Motorway Gantrys also have ANPR cameras put on them - as well as the usual Motorway Control cameras for lane closing on accidents, etc, nowadays, too . . .?
Speed limitations exist for a reason. They're not there to inconvenience people They're there to save lives. Stop speeding.
In the UK about 15 years ago, i could drive at speed on most motoways or highways. Ive reached 140. But today, i would never try that as all main roads have average speed cameras.
These police cars are unmarked, so people don't know they're police cars until they flash their blue light.
I'm actually impressed that a: someone was brave enough to take an Astra to 130mph and b: The astra could actually do 130, Unless it was a vxr
Great Video...Thanks..love and support from UK..
Theyre in umarked vehicles, precisely so they cant be seen until the blue lights and siren get turned on.
The suspended sentence is 8 months in prison, suspended for ususally 2 years.
Love your reactions, keep up the great work 🇬🇧
6:12 you don't understand how we don't notice police cars, look at the difference between unmarked vehicles in the US compared to the UK in this case and notice that having a market with a wide choice of vehicles, you have a greater chance of not being noticed, not to mention the cheap look, iron wheels, pushbars, spotlights that unmarked US vehicles carry
A lot of the UK transport police drive unmarked vehicles, mainly BMW's with big engines - being German they're limited to 155mph but they're faster than most cars on the road. That's a VW golf r with some mods by the looks of things.
those three litre inline 6 diesel engines sure do come in handy
@randomwaffler I'm actually a yob and drive a civic type r 😂. Had an accident recently and it's pretty much a right off so planning a van engine conversion. I'm a tall guy so probably a mercedes sprinter lwb.
not limited to 155 anymore
I was waiting for the thumbnail clip man, you got me 😂
Nice reaction fella, for those figuring out how fast that’s is - 150 Mph is roughly 241.4 Kpm
Crazy speeds
Love the police chase reactions and hope you do more
Neal. You asked how they don't see the cop cars. Many cop cars on the motorway in the UK are not in police colors. The are regular colors with hidden lights. In the last clip you can see the car is a black BMW. Regular cop cars in the UK are white with yellow and blue markings.
Yeah, a lot of the traffic cars are unmarked beemers.
I'm amazed they found an Astra that could do 130mph.
Must have been mapped and modded, stock Astra wouldn't get to 130 in a month of Sundays. Do they do a VXR edition?
Must've been remapped, modded, maybe the VXR edition can do that flat out but a stock Astra, no chance
It’s going to be the M340i in most cases now due to the ban.
As soon as your speed hits 3 figures tut tut
I'd say that depends. Many factors to consider.
No, 8 months prison sentence! But the sentence was suspended. His driving ban was 18 months
I think the 150mph guy just got a 3 month driving ban and a £500 fine.
130mph, prrffttt. 187mph on my daily commute westbound from Munich on the autobahn. a Brit working in Germany was a dream come true for a petrol head.
130 mph 30min London to essex for me 😂😂
Seen UK police practice this on the motorway. Fun just to back off & see them go to work & box the car off. My local cop's also use the road right next to a horse racing track to stop & search as practice.
100 mph used to be an instant ban, he's very lucky
86 is court summons. Punishment is based on judge now. :/
Don’t see the cops when they’re in unmarked cars
if you have no insurance in uk your car will be impounded by police
The sentences the criminals receive are too light.
Some of our cop drive an unmarked car, so unless you spot the driver wearing a police uniform you wouldn’t know that they were cops.
I'm from the UK here we have unmarked police cars so when speeding you don't know there police as they don't have any markings but then put the lights on and they you realise
Some cops are undercover mate - they look like every day vehicles, then the blue lights go off behind the front grid and the sirens starts
To my mind, having driven 1000's miles in the US , in NYC, SF and coast to coast LA to Miami - look ! No Guns!
I didn’t expect the first video to be so local. I live less than two miles from junction 16 on the m6 and recognise a lot of the areas.
Wow, ijust converted 150mph to km/h and it's just over 240km/h. That's insane.
Chances are if you stop you'll get a bollocking and a ticket and no more. I had a similar situation once where I was going significantly faster than 130 as I'd fallen asleep with my foot on the throttle. Very, very scary situation and it's one of the reasons I swear by speed limiters in cars.
150mph would normally be a prison sentence
Usually these are unmarked police cars. Trust, they come out of nowhere 😂
The UK Police use a range of cars but the Interceptors drive BMW, Subaru and Mitzubish and sometimes a rally version of the Ford Focus and the Lexus.
I regularly cruise at 100 mph, and when overtaking 150 mph. But here where I live that is allowed.
Clearly not in the UK then! Fun fun fun on the Autobahn... ? 😁
And nobody was shot or put in danger...
If you go over 100mph it is an instant ban.
If you do it in residential area then god knows....prison ?
Death and prison. A 19 year old boy who was taking nitrous oxide doing 130 in his BMW killed his 3 friends and made himself disabled for life, he's now in prison where he belongs. ..now if his parents bought him a Hyundai i10 which takes about 15 seconds to get to 62mph, instead of a big BMW 3 series which takes 5 seconds to 62mph, his friends may still be alive as he wouldn't have been able to reach 130mph in a residential area.
He's in a Unmarked Police car, you only know its one when the lights go on.
The reason they're not seeing the police is that some of them drive unmarked cars
Im really proud of our cops in the UK
They dont need guns to deal with everyday crimes, they use diplomacy and approach people calmly
They are fantastic at pursuits and our amazing bike cops are second to none
People do drive a hell of a lot faster generally here in the UK lol
130mph amd at bight time, these officers are really professional drivers.
UK Police have a lot more time training to be officers than in the US, and there are often higher educational standards set.
The reason they didn't see the cops is because they were in undercover/unmarked cars.
British cops are well trained. It seems US cops aren't trained at all!
in the UK, if you are caught doing over 100mph its an automatic license disqualification.
The average speed on a Portuguese motorway, which has a speed limit of 120 km/h (77 mph) is 140 km/h. Plenty do in excess of 160 km/h (100 mph). Never seen a speed cop
SEE our cops ARE good, and I honestly believe they rate among the best in the world, having had them on my side a few times I know this from experience, but I also know they are MORE than capable of being 'not quite so good' when it suits them, (again from personal experience) I was once stopped while on my motorbike when attending a funeral procession of bikes for a lost brother, All because this copper had a personal 'grudge' against me,
he once got me in court on a speeding charge, and the judge threw it out and suggested the copper might not "waste the courts time in future" he was NOT happy about this, and had a personal vendetta against me for years.
For a little bit of info, on the first clip, 130mph is 209kph.
Should see the police that confiscated £500 of fake notes someone gave a friend of mine for a phone he was selling and months later sent my friend a letter saying no laws were broken. The guy is still doing it.
In the UK, if you drive without insurance, your vehicle is seized, just like people in the USA who have their vehicle seized for drug offences.
His Dangerous driving charge will also hike his insurance premiums for a few years, a harsh lesson
Some police cars are undercover . They look like normal cars, black usually until tuen on hidden blue lights
There are some nice roads in the East of Germany and beyond where you can open your throttle fully legal, but those red lights in front come up very fast.
BIG REGISTRATION PLATES . . . are easy to read.
In the uk you’re ‘dangerous’ if you do 80mph, Germany 130mph is a stroll.
If you drive "only" 130 on a german Autobahn, you will be named a SNAIL or a SLOTH 😂
In Victoria Australia, if you were caught doing those speeds, your car is impounded and a pretty good chance you won’t have a license for at least 12 months. To top it off, your car maybe crushed. Try explaining that to the parent who owns the car!
The reason they didn’t see the police is because the British police use a lot of “unmarked” covert cars for traffic patrols
8 months suspended jail time, not licence
Idk about anyone else but if I was uninsured, I wouldn’t drive at 100mph 😂
Police interceptors is pretty good if you like the police chases
I don't know about that. The road systems are very different, UK Roads tend to be twisty and curved and need a lot of skill to drive at regular speeds. In speed situations the cop interceptors get a natural advantage from that. US roads tend to be straight and 90 degree turns, so there is less opportunity for the American police to do a take down safely.
They are both doing the same job as safely as they can but the playing fields are way, way different.
