- Join me on this video for my first impressions on my new Grisport Avenger hiking boots, and also for my long term opinions on my old Hi-Tec leather walking boots that have served me well for several years and many miles!

Grisport are on my feet on a daily basis wearing their Dartmoor walking shoes which are so comfortable that I recently bought another pair I was so impressed. I also have a pair of the ranger boots again very very comfortable and never had wet feet yet, great boots and shoes why pay more just for a name!

@@DesGreene when I bought mine my brother in law saw them and bought a pair and my sister was just saying the other week that he never has them off his feet and he’s bought another pair of Dartmoors . His lads and son in law also wear them they are all in there 30’s and 40’s now but they also swear by them as they are always up in Arkengarthdale in their caravans on the family site and are up dale and down dale in them, sometimes crawling home from the pub in them too no doubt! But yes I can or we can definitely recommend them.
Good footwear, very important. I wish I had realized that at a younger age LOL!!!

They look the business those Des. My mum liked her Grisport boots. Just scrutinising your book-shelves too.....very similar to mine, bird books, geology books and Bill Bryson's. 😎👍.

Yeah, pick em up now des whilst the price is right. A decent boot - I must say I like wearing my good old leather boots to. I like Scarpa as a rule but these are good. And yeah Colwyn has his own store. Well, thanks for sharing. Let's see them in a year. Mark
Hi Mark. Always good to pick up a bargain! 😁 Colwyn did a review of Grisport Saracen boots a few years back, so I've had them in mind for when I needed to retire my old ones. Never had Scarpa boots, but they do look good👍

Good evening Des! Oooh nice a first impressions/review, on a hikers most important bit of kit! The foot protector 🥾 ❤️ look after your boots and your boots will look after you! Always hard to sY goodbye to a tried and tested pair of old friends 🙃
I struggle in my leather boots, they are mid hight on the ankle and I twist my a kle for fun in them, but then that's my lesson learnt, higher support required! Leather can't be beaten for waterproofness 💧 🥾 🚿

Vibram soles are ace too 👌 very reasonably priced too 💰 look forward to seeing them in action! 🎬

Hi Ceri and Kat! Mid height seem to work best for me. Not sure I could walk in some of those high boots. Really pleased with the quality on these Grisport boots for the price. Time will tell though! Will do an update when they've had some use.

I got my first pair of Grisport almost a year ago now and was just about to do a one year review but I can say I am over the moon with them, best book I have ever had. Mine are a slightly different model, comfortable out of the box and a real deep sole, which makes me feel real confident while at hiking. I wish I was a size 8, rather than the size 11 flipper I need😣. I share your concern about weight but apart from that, I cannot fault them at all, cheers Alan
Hi Alan. Great to hear you are getting on well with them! Always a bit of a leap of faith buying new boots 😁 To be honest, although I haven't weighed the old boots, these feel roughly the same. So I'm not too concerned about weight. Might bother someone if they're used to fabric boots though!

Im on my 3rd pair of avengers and is one of grisport,s/gra footware,s best selling boot models! last pair has done about 2 years and 1800 miles and has now started to lose its tread across the ball of the foot where its always gone first. still waterproof as the day they were bought only thing ive changed is the insoles and have put in a pair that protects my arches to save muscle fatigue in tyhe foot. Also want t o say the team up at grisport are fantastic especially if you come across any issues.
That's great to hear! I've been able to put them through a good few challenging walks this winter and they've been great so far. Really comfortable, and seem totally waterproof! These look and sound great I hope they will serve you well. They look great quality. Breaking them in is definitely important. I have a couple of pairs of hiking shoes with the vibram sole. 👍😁

These look great. Sometimes the breaking in period is tough. Looks like you got a pair that will be comfortable right out of the gate.
Fingers crossed! They certainly feel comfortable, so I'm looking forward to giving them a proper try out. We're off to Spain for a couple of weeks first, though. So it will have to wait until we get back 👍😁

Definitely hit the nail on the head Des with regards the none leather tongue on the Hi Tech’s tuff though and well made (Romania) I believe

Hi Anna. Leather takes a bit more looking after, but I reckon you get better waterproofing and they last longer. Will do an update when I get some miles on them👍 Hwyl!

Hello Des, i'm curious about your experiences with the boots. I find, up to 20 kilometers, they are okay, but for longer tours, i had bad experiences. Blood blister under the sole. Greetings Kai
