Beautiful work these kind of skills are being lost at a terrible rate here in the uk.it's nice to see people with skill and passion for their product that makes them special I would love these guys to make me a pair of boots.
We have fine boot and shoe makers here in the UK but only the most wealthy could afford such shoes or boots.these guys look as though they do a wonderful job and I would bet not so expensive as the uk.did your boots last a good amount of time .
These skills are being lost not because people in the UK do not have the skills/passion...but because our domestic "customers" whine like a bunch 3 year-old kids when they have to pay for high quality, artisanal work and support a local craftsman. It can take weeks to make a pair of handmade shoes- yet, most of the public would like to pay us less than what they spend at M&S or Clarks. How would you like if your boss paid you for all your work with breadcrumbs (all the while moaning about how much he spends on his staff)? I dare to speak for all of my fellow shoemakers and leatherworkers in the UK: the skilled people are still here but it's up to you, the customers, to actually start paying attention to what your priorities are.
@@nellyt2807, it's all about priorities. If you prefer to waste money on junk food, holidays, entertainment/gadgets...well, then obviously you cannot afford a pair of handmade shoes made in the UK. If you prefer to have a pair (or two) of custom-made shoes made lovingly by a local craftsman, then you understand the amount of work and the expenses (shoemaking tools needed to make a pair of handsewn shoes: about £4000 to begin with; materials: £80-400; packaging & marketing) that go into that pair of shoes. It's really that simple.

Honestly this is the most genuine work I have seen, it takes a lot to keep true to your core values and not give into temptations, of using inferior materials, and skipping processes. Good work, this will be passed on to future generations.
They use foam and synthetics. The liners will be torn apart within a couple years of wear. That's common shoe knowledge.

something so fascinating and relaxing about watching these master craftsmen do their work. and thank you for not overlaying stupid royalty free music over the whole thing. for whatever reason i really like being able to hear the actual sounds of the hammering, the grunting, the shop sounds. just adds to the whole thing.
but he did overlay some emotional royalty free garbage over it though
Absolutely unbelievable craftmanship. Can't believe how sharp those tools must be - and not a single injury ! Beautiful boots
I'm pretty sure they get injured so many times when they were apprentices ... Paid their dues

He hand perforated the foam to allow padding at the Gore-tex liner could breath through to the leather upper. That is a detail that a lot of mass manufactured boots miss, and a Gore-tex liner with hand stitched and taped seams is not a feature a lot of hand made boots have. Bravo!

@@jvnd2785 Yeah, it is stupidly overpriced.
@@EllasPOSEiDON, Primark customers are not my customers. 😊 I prefer to be paid a fair price not slave wages of sweatshop workers in Bangladesh. You get what you pay for.
