Thank you great video, local garage couldnt fix the problem, my 12 year old daughter and I sorted the issue quickly Engine Sys Fault is now gone and full power resumed, I jacked the car up and removed the wheel so I could really get in there, torch useful too!👍
Thank you for this. Potentially the first Disco 3 sticky turbo with proper footage. For such a simple fix, access is next to impossible. For starters the lower nut for that heat shield is very tricky (the one you didn't have!). Then you can't actually see the rod unless you know exactly what you're looking for. Other suggestions (for rods with serious gunk and rust) include a coat hanger and a magnet on a stick. I have yet to try this on mine. Fingers crossed it will work.
I very much hope it does and pleased you found my little video helpful. If you get another person to turn the ignition on and off while you are looking you can see the top of the rod cycle up and down. Just be very careful of the air suspension
@@boatingsibbingandwandering3262 all fixed with about half a can of WD40 and a coat hanger. The difference in performance is huge. Took a while to fix. Very much advisable to jack up the front left side, even with the wheel on. The problem is not the actuator but the bottom nut on the heatshield.
@@Freedom_fighters898 I just said it's difficult to access the lower nut to remove the heat shield. Need patience and jack the car, otherwise it's difficult to reach just by extending the suspension
Yes it worked for me. It is important to do this on a regular basis. I would say every 6 months if possible and it should keep it lubed up. A subscribe to my channel would be nice. It dont cost nothing :)
@@boatingsibbingandwandering3262 didnt work .....but my turbo is back in play .... just waiting for new mega fuses ... think thats it according to what else is out there for reference
Can I pick your brains … I took my Range Rover 2009 sport to a car garage to get my brushes done drive shaft bearing done and air suspension done .. I did have engine fault and low level coolant on the dash but car was driving fine .. they had my car sitting for 7 days tho and when I picked it up I drove away and lights came up on my dash and went into limp mode but it went normal whiles driving but the limp mode keeps happening… like I said my car was alright when I took it in .. what he causing the problem ?
Hello and sorry for your issue. I am afraid that I am not a Lan Rover expert but just someone who sorted this particular issue. However a lot of fault codes like you are getting can also be linked to low fuel pressure on the fuel rail. All this generally needs is replacement fuel filter/filters. Also it might be useful for you to buy the Land Rover plug in fault finding tool (google will find a few) so you start to understand the issues. In any event go back to the garage that did the work also and complain

Well done you were lucky. Garages usually want to replace the Turbo

Great video, thanks. Worked a treat for me once I could see the actuator.

I havn’t seen this on mine yet - do you know what fault codes it triggers?
Not sure on the codes it triggers but on the screen it shows almost every fault in the book
It's like Christmas loss of temp clock hazards flashing ...engine still runs but won't start again if you turn it off then eventually resets
