  • Here I search for the turbo actuator on my Discovery 3 (LR3) to give it some lubrication. I've started getting an 'engine system fault' warning when driving, which puts the car into a lower power mode as the turbo actuator stops moving.

RRS TDV8. Ive got an Ediag reader on the way but I'm pretty sure, or rather I'm praying, that my problem is the actuator. So thanks for the vid. In another video the guy went in from underneath.

You can do it either way, I just found this worked for me. Good luck and I hope you get the easy fix.

Someone did post a drawing for a tool to the actuator manually. You access the linkage from inside the left hand wheel well after removing a heat shield.

Agreed, you can access the actuator through the wheel arch, I decided to use the battery tray removal technique. Either way, the end result is important. Making a hook tool is great for manipulating the actuator arm.
