Hi Whitney - I absolutely 💜 this bag! Definitely one of my favorites. I will be making several of these - one for my crochet, knitting, hand embroidery and unfinished small projects! This is perfect and I love how you made the drawstring casing piece. Genius!!! Truly Genius!!! I’ve made a lot of project bags in the past, some with zippers and some with drawstrings and this is going to be my go to way for drawstring bags in the future! Everything looks so nice and I have some of the foam to add to the bottom. Yay! I will probably use canvas or home dec fabric for the outside and handles and cotton for the inside and drawstring casing. Excellent job figuring out how all this comes together! You are the best. Hope the girls are having a great summer. I miss seeing them. Big Hugs! 🤗💜💟💜
Thank you for the very straightforward directions and clear visual on how you do each step. It is becoming increasingly hard to find tutorials without a ton of extra marketing, talking, and unnecessary info. Yours was awesome! Thanks
I really enjoyed this tutorial because you are clear, you carefully move from one step to the next, and you show exactly what you are doing. Great teacher. Thanks. PBerne
I made one. Sending to your web. I made it without handles and smaller. I can take it as a an evening bag. Thank you. U are a good teacher. Not confusing us.
OH MY GOODNESS!! TOO CUTE!! I'll be making one this weekend! You make everything look so easy and give such fantastic instructions. Who doesn't need a drawstring bag to take to the park, farmers market, zoo, museum, etc.?! You can put anything in it!! And the fact that it's washable makes it even better!!
I made my first bag yesterday following your directions, which were clear and straightforward. I'm feeling rather proud of myself and I just wanted to say thank you. The bag is the perfect size for my knitting projects, but your directions make it easy to size up or down.
This will be my next project as soon as I can get a few min. Thanks so much Whitney. It will be awesome for Bible journaling crafts that can transport easy.
Why the heck anyone would give this a thumbs down is beyond me !!! 😞... anyhoo .. their loss ! ... I'm off to make plans for making half a dozen or so of these for Winter Solstice gifts for my crafty buddies 😊.... THANK YOU SO SO MUCH ! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 😆
I Love This bag, I have made several for friends, and myself. The two differences I made to your bag is, I cut 2 - 11" x 15" pieces to make pockets on the inside (3 on each side), that way it makes the perfect purse, and I cut 2 3/4" squares out at the bottom to do the corners. Thank You for sharing your Time, and Your Talent with all of us.
This has to be one of my favorite projects of yours! My granddaughter (3) is purse crazy. I think this would be cute made smaller with my scraps of "girly" fabrics😃 She always has one of her purses on her shoulder with toys in it whenever she goes somewhere! Also, this is great shape to take toys to the beach using waterproof fabrics.... you can tell I'm excited about making some of these!!😋👍
I’m in love with theses bags, really easy to make. I have made so many, using this pattern to make kids school bag, laptop bag, PE kit, to hold my knitting in. Even made this pattern small to fit my phone and tablet in, so I don’t lose it when I put it in my hand bag. Amazing bag and video very easy to follow.
Thank you Whitney - this is just what I was looking to make for our Quilting Guild Gift draw. Really appreciate your easy to follow clear instructions. I have 5 to make so am going to get started today-thanks again!
Whitney, I love this bag, thank you so much! I made one for my crochet projects, and I'm now in the process of making a second one for my audio equipment (mic, headphones, audio interface--I do voice overs). After that, I just might make another one for our pet grooming supplies...I can't stop! 😆🤣
This is a great pattern. I'm making a lot of them to give to students needing personal care items. It's perfect for that. My only change is putting the heavy interfacing piece on the inside of the bag bottom so recipients don't have to deal with separate piece.
Hi Whitney, thank you for your tutorials. I made one your bags for her knitting. I enjoyed making this bag and I’m sure I’ll make more of this design. To this I also added pockets in the front and also an inside pock. Thank you again from Melbourne Australia
I really like your bag so much and your tutorial is great! I promised my daughter to try something similar for her projects. It is a new type of project to me and I hope i'll manage it. I need to make it bigger and add some additional smaller bags to the inside lining for organizing her materials. Maybe you have some hints?
Thank You again, Miss~Whitney, for your Precious time and Wonderful tutorials. Did check out Ashley as well. Enjoy some of hers as well. Have a Beautiful day!
Sew cute! Thank you again for a great project! I have to say you are a excellent teacher. Your videos are easy to understand with great directions to follow 😃 thank you again ❤️👍
So cute ! Love that it has draw string and handles. This is a similar pattern to making the zippered pouches I make. I am planning on making a bunch of these . Thank you for the pattern and how to tutorial . I can't wait to make them.
This is one of my favorite videos you've made! That bag is adorable! Thank you so much for making it so simple to follow! I'm definitely going to make several of these bags. They'll make terrific gifts!
Thanks for the tut !! I've been wondering how to achieve adding the drawstring top this way but just couldn't wrap my brain around if, I've been trying to do a drawstring water bottle holder w/insulation & needed the top part to be completely enclosed. ' Thanks again !!
I would probably carry my yarn for crocheting. Or maybe some art supplies for drawing or painting Raven supplies for doing hair. The possibilities are many.
This is awsome question and I use pul for the lining as I want the inside to be wipe out as I think this would look like as a trash bag for my car lol.
consider adding an Amazon direct link button on your blog, please. On older videos, I can't get to your Amazon page. thanks for sharing your sewing talent.
I need to make this bag to hold my scrapbook stuff so I can work on it while my son is in his Taekwondo class. I wonder if I could repurpose old pillowcases to make this?!
I love the bag. I would love it even more if it had a pocket inside for the various accoutrements I need to carry with my projects. Any chance there is an easy way to add one?
One thing that I always have to think about is which dimension is the side and which is the top and bottom. It looks like it is wider than tall, but it would be helpful to say something like sew along the 11" sides..... The first lined laundry bag I made wasn't very tall but it had one heck of an opening. It made a nice dust cover for my sewing machine.

Perfect, all it needs is an outside pocket for knitting patterns which is easy to add before sewing together . Thanks for a great project .

Whitney, I love this bag, thank you so much! I made one for my crochet projects, and I'm now in the process of making a second one for my audio equipment (mic, headphones, audio interface--I do voice overs). After that, I just might make another one for our pet grooming supplies...I can't stop! 😆🤣
Thankyou gonna try this. I will use it for toiletries.

Sounds great!

What are the final dimensions of the bag
So cute🤗💗
Hello🤗. I would like to make the bottom wider. Do I add inches to the length, width or both? Like 9.5 x 6
Love this bag! Thank you Whitney. 😘
Love it!
That is cool I would us it for my knitting

consider adding an Amazon direct link button on your blog, please. On older videos, I can't get to your Amazon page. thanks for sharing your sewing talent.
There are direct links to Amazon on my website. The Amazon ad with several photos of sewing supplies is an affiliate link. Hope that helps :)
Omg love itttttttt
Awesome .... 👍🏽
You can add a pocket to one of the lining pieces before sewing them together.
@@Whitney_Sews that makes sense. I'm still kind of new at this whole sewing thing. Thanks for helping me out.
One thing that I always have to think about is which dimension is the side and which is the top and bottom.
