I made three of these bags for me and a friend to put our blending brushes and caddies into so we could easily transport them to scrapbooking crop events. Love them.
You make the best videos. I just love them. they are easy to understand and you don't waste time showing us sewing on the machine. All very concise and well-done. thanks so much. Kathy
The bottom still looks good, it’s wayyyy way better than mine. I’ve been on it since this afternoon and I can’t seem to get it right. I noticed however tho that the upper part of the sewing machine, above the needle area, is what gets in the way. I think that’s why most people do well when sewing the bottom part. I’ve been searching for hacks to try to make it easier and I’m close to getting a new sewing machine 😂
@@Whitney_Sews Oh I am sorry I have made a mistake. I have seen a cat in advert for a video thinking it was yours! :-@. And your hands are just fine! ;-)
This is exactly what I was looking for and I love your vintage sewing machine I saw on vintage most all the times because they are so reliable. I am going to use the Bosal coaster forms for the base. I will make my lining and outer circles a bit bigger to accommodate. This is a well-done and clear tutorial. Thank you.
Yup, well done. Except for providing the math or rule of thumb. Which is necessary to figure out the circumference of the circle needed. I'm fairly sure that if you are here, watching this video. You have an understanding of what sewing is. That's all this video was.
This looks great! Thanks for making the PDF file available for free. AND for including info on customizing the size. That is so very helpful (and professional). Can't wait to get started on mine.
Hi Whitney, I followed these instructions to make a couple of microphone case bags for my grown-up musician son. It's a very clever technique, and they turned out great! The only change I made was to make the bottom rectangular instead of round, and it took awhile to figure out the dimensions since each one was a unique size and shape. We watched your video together and he did all the measuring and cutting, while I did the sewing. We laughed about the fact that your bag is for Duplos, and his are for his grown up toys! His toys cost a lot more now! Anyway, thanks for your videos! You'll be a go to for future sewing projects. And your land army outfit is wonderful! You look like you stepped right out of the Land Girls series!
I just used your video to make a custom bag for my Simply Southern 40 oz tall water thermos. It's the best I've found for keeping water/ice all day but I needed a 'pouch' to carry it in. This was perfect - I just added a long shoulder strap. Thanks again for such an easy to understand way to make a round bag!
Thank you so much! I'm sewing my cat a lined potato sack with a bottom for a bed & needed to visualize how to do it! Now all that I need to do is to sew. Thanks again!
Thank you Whitney. This would be a great bag for an extra pair of shoes to take along. You know when you wear the cute shoes that hurt your feet like heck and you can’t wait to get out of them as soon as you can.
I LOVE THIS!!! Can't wait to make some. I think you should put a book and a bottle of wine (or other favorite beverage) in it. When the kiddos go to bed, sneak out on the front/back porch for a little "me time"!!
Hi Whitney - This is a great bag! Your instructions are always so easy and clear to understand and follow. Depending on how tall it is, you could slip a round plastic keeper inside and store your scissors in it. So many uses for this bag. Thanks for sharing. Happy Day to you! Hugs! 💜
Hi Whitney 🙋🏻♀️ I’m a new subscriber and a fairly new sewer ( about 5 months) . I love all your tutorials! Your a great teacher 🤗 Just wanted to tell you I have watched several videos now and I’ve made 4 project bags! Yay! ❤️ Thank you so much for taking the time to do theses informative tutorials. I know I appreciate them very much!
I made this bag and am using it to hold my round yarn balls (like cupcake Lion Brand). While I am knitting or crocheting the ball of yarn does not go all over the place. I also changed the pattern and stiffened 1/2 way up the side of the bag. Love it. Thanks
Your videos have been such a great help! I am making this big enough for a kitchen aid mixer attachment ♡ i never thought I'd be able to do this prior to finding your videos! Going to make a tote bag to store the vacuum sealer next!
Love all your videos! I had a summer time request if you have not done this yet. Can you show us how to make a cooler bag with zipper top for keeping food and drinks cool when heading to the beach/river/ lake during the warm months. Thanks ^_^
Hehe I used t be VERY tan when I was younger. Now that the weather is warming up and I have plants and things to take care of I'm sure I'll be getting lots of sun and tan :)
I love this type of bag one of the first I made. From a old pattern from the thrift shop. Took me forever. Would have loved to have this then. Great content!!!
That’s so cute :). I made something similar from another UA-camr which has a handle rather than draw string and I use it for carrying my yeti in and out of work. I like the idea of the draw thing though because I usually tuck a straw in to make it easier to drink my water :). Love this tutorial!!
Any tips o n turning this drawstring bag with a circle bottom into a padded (machine-quilted) drawstring bag with a circle bottom? I'd like to pad both the lining and the outer fabric. I have done a padded drawstring bag with a boxed bottom before, so I think I can figure out how to do this one, but the circle bottom insert is troubling me (in planning and thought) just a bit!
Just a quick add question. What would you recommend for a waterproof bag. Wondering if I should buy the oilcloth fabric and then. A pretty cotton out. Or is there another idea
Hmm, good question. I made a diaper one time where the waterproofing later was in the middle and as soon as any liquid touched the seam is began to wick onto the outer (not waterproof) fabric. So if it really needs to be super waterproof I would do waterproof fabric inside and out, but if not a waterproof lining and both circles would probably work then cotton for the outer body. Hope that helps!
I would think something like quilt batting would work better than polyfil for padding. Polyfil will probably not stay up and end up lumpy around the bottom.
Hey Whitney, would it be possible for you to maybe show/explain how the math is done to figure out the sizing of the bags? I am NOT good with math at all but usually after I've gone through it a time or two I understand at least how to get to the numbers I need whether I actually understand the process or not.
I only have one Patteon level now for $1/month (people can do any amount they want, but that is the suggested amount). To get the PDF you will need to be a patron and scroll through my posts on there until you find the PDF. There are some tags to make finding posts easier, so if you find the tag search look for PDF. Hope that helps.
I searched for this project because I had a beautiful bag that got destroyed. I'm hoping that I can recreate it. You explained it perfectly. Thanks.

Absolutely perfect! Simple, easy quick, no messing about! Spot on! Loving the cat in the background 🙂
Glad you like it! What cat?

Would be great for kids toys that you are taking on the road with you. Absolutely love all of your videos
I would give it to a child with some Lego, an individual Lego gift box like, make a car or a truck etc. lovely work Whitney.
That's adorable! I love the fabric you chose. Thank you for the easy-to-follow tutorial, as always! This is a good craft I can make for my grandsons!
I want to like this a thousand times! I love it, thanks for sharing!
Than you this has cleared up some issues that I was dealing with in sewing some bags. Very clear and precise . Thanks again.

Used your video to make a large bag for my portable outdoor grill for my camper!
Thank you!
That is so awesome!
I'm going to make several for yarn project bags.

Hi! That is so awesome! I'm really glad you like my tutorials and find them helpful :) Comments like yours are why I love making videos!
This is just what I need for my swimming days
Thanks for this tutorial. I love how you do the draw string casing. I'm going to try that.

Thank you so much. I needed to make my mom a gift for her friend with a portable oxygen tank. This was perfect.
I’m making a long furby from scratch and this is really helpful thank you miss :)
This is exactly what I was looking for. I'm going to make a taller version for my exercise mat.
Awesome! Let me know how it turns out!

Love your design.....I'm going to use unicorn fabric to make a child's toy bag. Thank you!
Love your fabric choices💜
I could see making these as water bottle carriers. Nice tutorial.
Awesome fabric, so cute,😍, greetings from Poland!
going to use this for a mug bag to carry to my craft class, thank youxx
I am using your tutorial and pattern for a stand-up puzzle bag! Thank you for the amazing tutorial and written (math) instructions!
Another wonderful tutorial.....would make a fabulous project bag for those whom knit or crochet.
I love this. Thanks fir this tutorial
I am your 1000th like! Yeaaah! Nice to meet you. I like your work... Good job!
That would be a great ballet slipper bag

P.S: reminds me a of beach bag , roll up a towel and stick it inside that cute bag .
Such a cute bag
Great job again Whitney. Will be making a few of these. Love the fabric. Your arms looked really tanned...I’m jealous lol x

thank you for the PDF Ma'am :)
I'm going to use this pattern to make a snuggle pouch for a hedge hog!!
Lol @ the berry disclaimer. This is great!
Hehe probably going to be a regular thing since our mulberry trees are producing lots of ripe berries every day :)
Brilliant tutorial

Hi Whitney, I loved your tutorial! What are the measurements of the different pieces? I'm super-keen to get started. Thanks, Sandi
All the measurements are in the PDF linked in the description box.
Qwirkle Tile bag!
So do you use fusible fleece on the lining of the bag itself? I don’t see it in this video.
Love it! Great idea for a gift bag...
this is great! thank you
Glad you like it!
Great as a gym bag 😊
Thanks 🙏🏽
Very cute. Thanks.
Thank you for video
Rolled up towels for the beach
Hello Whitney, would you please please do a tutorial on elephant ears pillow for baby/toddler carseats/strollers?
Whitneyyyyyyyy! ❤❤❤❤❤
TANNNNY! How are you doing?
Very cleaver well done 👍
So pretty thanks. Put pyjamas and toothpaste and brush for sleepovers 😊
I have tried several times to download the PDFs for this bag and it is not allowing access. I have opened an account but still nothing. Any ideas?
How to measure bottom according to the upper part
Brillant

you should keep wine in it of course! ;)
Hi Whitney,
Thanks for the lesson.
68 man just learning. I like those clips.
Where'd you get them?
Thank you.
S.
They are sewing clips that I got from Amazon. I really love using them.
@@Whitney_Sews Thank you.
Do you have any tips for someone thats adding polyfill padding in between the layers?
I would think something like quilt batting would work better than polyfil for padding. Polyfil will probably not stay up and end up lumpy around the bottom.
How do you determine the size of the circle you need?
In the description box there is a link for pdf with the formula.
Hey Whitney, would it be possible for you to maybe show/explain how the math is done to figure out the sizing of the bags? I am NOT good with math at all but usually after I've gone through it a time or two I understand at least how to get to the numbers I need whether I actually understand the process or not.
All the math is written out in steps in the PDF.
Jennifer for $ 4.00 you can get the pdf and the measurements
Can you covert this tutorial to a water bottle carrier?
I'm sure you could using the section of the PDF where I show how to customize the size.
What type of fabric did you use? I'm knew to this and want to try.
Just plain cotton
I needed an idea for my son's dinosaurs and this on a larger scale would be perfect!.. Thanks so much for the inspiration.
Looking for something to put my E Bike Battery in, when I take it off...this could work!

Hi Whitney. Thanks for the tutorial. I am curious - where did you find that cute dinosaur fabric? Thanks! :)
Got it as a remnant at JoAnns
Wine bottles. Haha
I thought the same way. lol
My first thought was a book and a bottle of wine for when the kiddos go to bed. Sneak out for a little me time on the front/back porch.
It was the first thing I told her that it would be great for.
Hehe except I don't drink...maybe some sparkling cider :)
Duplo legos . I would need a larger size because their numbers keep increasing.
